Thanks Stripey/Steve, I was up till 0230 last night meddling with the F6 so felt ever minute of 35 this morning! Had a great day with my family and then my Sister and Her Husband and my niece and Nephew and my Mum and Dad. I tend to reflect on the previous year each birthday and on reflection I'm blessed to have such and a great family and so many good friends.6 points

Do they do a suede protectant? WDYDTYCT? #Tomorow...dropping it off a the panel shop to the get the geriatric tattoo repaired and the rest of the paint refreshed....Im stressing as the only hands that touch my cars are my own. The idea of it being out of my possession unsettles me greatly. #Today finished off my retro alpine install, an MRP-F240 4Ch amp to drive the SPS-171 component fronts and Model number I have forgotten co-axial rears (same vintage as the SPS-171's) and an MRP-F350 Monoblock driving a punchy 10" S-drive sub. A IDE-178BT is providing the signals. I def got value for money from the speakers/amps they started life in the purpo ute, spent some time in the blue meanie and now live in the F6. #recycle/reuse/reduce5 points

Have driven the car all weekend and everything seems to be settled in very well.. No dramas at all and the rear end really holds down well now, instead of ending up sideways in first and second when launching it, car seems to just hold the rear straight now and progresses to the next gear. A major improvement on traction and no more broken diff bush ever again. Anybody thinking of doing these mods, its well worth it3 points

Here's a few photos since having the Modesta Glass paint protection put on. Can anyone say GLOSS?!3 points

Recently had my car back at cms for some more mods . The car made 432 kw on e85. The car has the following mods Precision 6235 turbo Pw stepped intercooler Pw turbo side intake 300lph intank pump Pw surge tank with twin 044s Pw fuel rail and fpr 1200 ID 1000 injectors Advance 4 inch stainless dump and cat , xforce 3.5 inch stainless cat back exhaust. Zf tune and pwr heat exchanger. Nice smooth power and usable on the street . I will try and get to WSID in the next couple of months and give the car a run. I'm really happy with the service from Joe and the boys at CMS.2 points

Where do you calibrate your eyes for a visual inspection? Heads need more than a visual inspection, especially if your building an engine, very least it should be pressure tested/hardness tested, I've always got my valve seats and valves cut, ideally a new set of valves in a perfect world.2 points

Thanks guys . These cars are deceiving , seat of the pants doesn't really tell the full story . It's not until you pull next to another car that you realize how much quicker they are compared to your average quick factory powered car. The standard zf is shifting well , really happy with the latest zf tune that Joe has put in the car.2 points

Having a big shed clean out today to make space for the new race trailer and thought I might as well offload these things. KPM Streetfighter intake for my FGII XR6T. Removed because it didn't fit when the new nizpro cooler went in. But should fit with others....should. Makes a great intake sound and is a BIG pod filter. Looks factory with the cover on. $200 and it's yours. Also a 2" lowering block kit. I took them out because I didn't like the feel. TBH, I wouldn't recommend them but they're free if you want to try them out. Next time I trip over them, they'll go in the bin. I also have the complete OEM roll bar thing and tonneu cover with rods and clips, mounts and all the bits. Was on the ute for about a week from brand new until the standard type came in and I switched it out then sprayed the bar with wd40 and bubble wrapped it and put the tarp and bits into the box the new one came in. So you could pretty much call it brand new. I'm sure it'll fit a FG, dunno about BF. Prob not. $350 the lot. I'm home all day so call over and have a look.2 points

I left my car sitting on them all night, cause was to lazy after a few beers. When I did role car back this morning I inspected and there was no stress mark or the like on them. I'd be happy to use them to lift car no probs while working on it. I will put the jack under for secondary precaution and chock rears. Cause you never know!2 points

FG XR6 Turbo - First Round Mods: 290-330rwkw range "The internal combustion engine is an engine in which the combustionof a fuel(normally a fossil fuel) occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber" –wikipedia Now the Golden Rule is: The more fuel and air you can safely force into an engine the more power you will make. The key word here is "safely" and although there is risk involved in taking any engine above stock power there are nurmerous ways to minimise this risk. Having said that, below you will find details on the most common way to get your FG XR6 Turbo to around 290-330rwkw and beyond. *Note this is just a guide, feel free to do your own research. Modifying your 08-11 FG XR6 Turbo to 290-330RWKW Approx CPU When modifying your XR6 Turbo the first thing you will need is a Flash Tuner. This is the device that is used to "tweak" the cars factory cpu in order to updrgrade performance. These can range from $500 to $1000, one of the main Flash tuners used at the moment is the X3 Flash tuner seen below *Please note the X1Flash tuner is now obsolete and should be avoided. Injectors The factory injectors are one of the first limiting factors on the FG 's being good for only around 250rwkw max, these will need to be upgraded pretty much straight away not only to increase power but also as a safety precaution to prevent the engine from leaning out due to lack of fuel supply. Two common brands are the Siemens 60lb injectors and the Bosch 968's both around the $350 mark and good for around 350rwkw's. Valve Springs Although valve springs arn't really a performance modification as such they are an important safety measure when trying to make more power. The FG XR6 Turbos have acquired the upgraded HD valve springs from the F6 engines so they should be ok at this level, SHOULD being the operative word. But again these are really just cheap insurance rather then another unnecessary cost so if you got the funds it would be worth upgrading to some stronger Atomic or Nizpro springs. And for around $400 it's allot cheaper then a new engine. Fuel Pump Ok back to performance mods and back to the golden rule. To make more power you need higher volumes of fuel pumped into your engine which means a bigger fuel pump. Quite simple really. The FG fuel pumps should be ok at this leavel, Most tuners agreeing that they can flow enough fuel to max out the stock turbo. But if you want to upgrade the WALBRO GSS series seems to be one of the most common used and is around the $130 mark. Ported Wastegate and Bigger Flapper The stock FG turbo is good for around 320rwkw before it runs out of puff. Porting the waste gate and installing a bigger flapper might not be necessary but will bring boost need down and help your turbo spool quicker so you might want to ask your tuner what they think before going ahead. This should cost you around $600 change over not including installation. Actuator The actuator is used to control boost levels produced by the turbo and to prevent over boosting. You should base the size of your actuator on how much boost you wish to run. High Flow Cat The FG exhaust has been designed pretty well and is almost able to flow enough to make your 320rwkw's, the only thing limiting it's potential is the factor catalytic converter. Replacing this with a high flow 100cpi (cells per square inch) will free up the exhaust and has been proven enough to make290-330rwkw's(Obviously a full exhaust would be better but that's later on) Inter-cooler Piping The FG intercooler piping is of a much better design then the old B series layout however there is a down side, it's been commonly known to pop or crack once boost level is raised even slightly. Unfortunately this means you pretty much need to replace it straight away with stronger alloy piping, last thing you want is a hose to blow after giving it a bootfull in the middle of nowhere leaving you stranded. Currently there are a few companys making this alloy kit as a direct replacement of the factory pipes, Herrod, Coolerworks and Plazmaman to name a few. Should cost between $400-$600 for a kit. Full Inter-Cooler Kit The factory intercooler may be able to make 290-330rwkw but it will be at it's limit and starting to suffer from heat soak after multiple dyno runs or lots 'spirited driving', loosing power and efficiency. If your happy to splash a little more cash at this stage it would be a good idea to upgrade to a bigger intercooler and piping kit. These can range from $1500 (entry level) up to $3000+ (full high flow race level). There are some quality kit manufactures for the FG XR6 Turbo including Process West, Rapid Systems, Plazmaman, HDI and PWR. With the all the Red mods completed you should be able to have your car tuned to around the 290-310rwkw mark, with the blue mods completed too you should safely make the 310-330 mark or maybe even a bit more. Good Luck1 point

Is that SL? I've always been under the impression SL is standard XR height. Which is already lower than a cab pack fg falcon. You really need SSL. But a read through your posts says you had them and they dropped to 330ish? I really think these springs are crap. I happen to literally live around the corner from Eibach, I went and saw them when my first set dropped in the arse. Asked if they can do me some. Unfortunately they said they never had the market for the falcon so never did them, meaning he can't do me any as they have no data. Other option is run the SSL again, if they drop to 335 again, (mine haven't) you can then use a superpro 10mm spring seat to bring it back up. Not that you should have to do that.1 point

Yeah sweet as man, forgot you're a FIFO man. Should start a WA XR6T forum FIFO golf group to play during the week.I played at Collier Park, Island 9. Maylands is a hard course though dude! I've only played there once and if you land in the trees it's hard to get back out. Oh and no probs mate. When you letting everyone else know? [emoji6] First time I've played in nearly a year though, so just gotta start trying to play once or twice a break again and maybe get some lessons. Did hit some great shots that I was stoked with, but also lost 3 balls into water etc...overall pretty poor golf. Kinda played Ambrose on a couple of holes, given it was just a practice game really.1 point

Thanks mate I've been around for a couple of years I just don't post that often. I had my car tuned about 2 years ago by cms , 340kw 11.2 @ 124mph. Lol I still have the air box at home .I'm enjoying the sound at the moment , I don't think I will be putting it back on anytime soon.Yeah I will let you know . I won't be able to make it next week . Have you taken your car to full throttle Friday before ? Not sure on what tyres to run , the tyres I have at the moment are 275/50/17 . When I had the standard turbo the car went two tenths slower and lost two mph compared to when I was running 275/40/17 . The taller tyre made the car go slower . Maybe now I'm making more power the 28 inch tyre (275/50/17) might work better ?1 point

just had someone from India claiming to represent Telstra and saying they were about to cut off my Internet if I didn't open a CMD box and start www.mstelstra.webs.com for them. Don't do it by the way - likely they will gain control of your PC ala TeamViewer style and then muck things up from there. Opening line is someone has hacked into my machine and they ask you open a CMD box and run netstat to see who's running sessions on your PC. Then they claim the established connections are are hackers and they need to transfer my Internet service onto the Telstra rescue server at www.mstelstra.webs.com Yeah sure. Read some more here: http://www.whocalledmeau.com/PhoneNumber/0390058413 Seem to be targeting Victorians and looks like it started as early as 16 Jan 2015 at least. Oh by the way - for some reason when they establish a VoIP call to your home phone line - they can't hang up and require you to hang up - they kept asking me to hang up - they *cough* entertained me *cough* for 30 mins1 point

They dont call me anymore. I used to do 1 of the following: - just leave the phone on the bench and dont hang up, but it is not that much fun; - I thank them for advising me of this problem and tell them that I am a budding computer programmer and straight after dinner I am going to create my own virus busting program to fix the problem; - String them on for 30 mins or so telling them that my pc / laptop is Windows based, then I tell them it os Mac based so they transfer me to another department. String this apartment along for 20 to 30 mins then tell them that my pc is windows based. They usually have the sh*ts by then and hang up and dont call back. I only do the third option on a Friday or Saturday night if I am having a few quiet ones out the back. Have'nt heard back form them for ages. Luke G1 point

Cooling system issue (ie dud headgasket/Leaky Rad/etc etc etc) Hole in the cap will stop the system pressuring and can stop coolant leaking past the headgasket etc....but can also cause the car to overheat as it lowers the boiling point of the coolant AVOID1 point
