The donk on this is a technological masterpiece - removed after every ride and multiple fluid dumps every 24hrs. Still going strong after 30+ years. Prob the most amazing thing about it is how it responds to punishment - basically the harder you push it the stronger it gets if you're feeding it the right fuel. Yeh it's a 2011/12 model, he's looked after it really well and made some decent mods. 10 years ago I was doing shuttle runs just about every weekend on a giant DH team, sold it to help fund first mods on the ute back in 2010. Since then ive got married, had 2 kids and only riding I've done since is prob less tham once a month on an old XC bike - just fire trails etc - until a few weeks ago I stumbled across some decent local gnarl by accident and was instantly hooked again....been looking for another bike since.

Picked up my 'new' toy last night Was an ebay deal, roughly a 200km round trip to pick up and I bought it on face value as these bikes are top quality and it had a decent build spec. With the ridiculously low price I won it for I was pretty wary and half expecting to find a beaten hag with worn pivots, thrashed drivetrain, possibly even a hairline crack or two in the frame...at worst case I knew I could more than get the coin back easy enough by flogging off the parts. Seller was a top bloke, the bike is a gem and I'm a bit For the first time in its life the ute started overheating on the way back, convinced the blue bitch was jealous lol That or the thermostat.....

Who was that? Have a read thru this thread to get some insight on what works well http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/91528-modding-your-fg-xr6g6e-turbo-take-2/ Most importantly though is to use a tuner with plenty of barra experience, even if you have to travel. A local place may be guns at commonwhores or jap or euro cars but won't guarantee a happy ending. @MattyP @BAXRTUTE @MBAF any recent feedback on blacktrack in Cardiff? Used to see their name pop up a bit.

Grey GQ, may be the same Haha can imagine Apparently it's been engineered with the motor and gearbox...but not the turbo lolol Imo a smaller turbo would make more sense anyway, 45 seems a total waste for something that'll be a daily/camping rig

Interbreasting!! Reason for sh*t rods? cost cutting is all I can think of Might send you a few annoying pm's about in the near future, my little brother is looking at buying his mate's maverick Bit of a mongrel iirc but has an EF/EL built motor, gt45 with top mount W2A cooler, and running a t400. Not sure of power, only 15psi atm. Only has stock ford pcm which I'm guessing would be the biggest restriction

This is a good thread to read http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/80699-aftermarket-fuel-filterswhat-I-did/

@eff xr6t Dunno what I'm missing something here, but given it's not uncommon for BA donks to pop @ 350-400rwkw if not tuned very carefully, how the phark can a stock e series bottom end handle 500rwkw and 20+psi??? I assume Ford's engine development didn't go backwards between EF and the first DOHC barra In any case

My Bf Xr6 Na Engine With Turbo
camo86T replied to NA_TURBO's topic in Members Cars and Modifications
Ah memories A mate picked up a 929 for next to nothing about 10 years ago, previous owner was an old guy (his neighbour) that had babied it for years It got flogged most Friday nights for months, so comfy and supple, took standard gutters at up to 50kmh with ease, change in ride height was about all you noticed lololol When rego ran out it lived on their property near Gunning, was great on dirt tracks, through rough scrub and hills, got rolled a few times and eventually ended its days in a viking funeral when it finally died... #respekt -
Conversion xr6t's NA to T conversion
camo86T replied to Conversion xr6t's topic in Ford 4.0L N/A Discussion
Can tell already this thread will be gold...kokenose's cousin possibly @Conversion xr6t all the real answers you want are already on here, it just gets tiring when a new member jumps on and asks questions that have been asked and answered a million times before. Saying you're after 400-500rwkw or approx 400rwkw for the track is a very loose description, no one can just spit out the exact answer you're looking for without knowing a lot more info, hence all the questions. If you want a very specific answer then ask a very specific question and these guys will help as requested as they have countless times before. Otherwise read the 400rwkw section and narrow it down to the sort of setup you want, and see how others have gone about it. Use the search bar for any particular area of interest and you'll have more info than you know what to do with.- 67 replies
