  1. Power classes isn't a good idea in my opinion. People can easily cheat. My car only has 250rwkw when I ran a 10... *blink blink*. Fairest is DYO. Or just straight heads up. Easternats style. But typically only a fast car will win that. Either way I'm keen.. Time to bring the old bucket out from hibernation .....

  3. Heathcote is a country hick track. Hold it at Calder. I don't think you would get the numbers to go all the way to Heathcote. Winner should be whoever crosses the line first. Rules are simple, street approved tyres and rear exiting exhaust. Run what you brung heads up. One other thing I've always entertained the idea of is to introduce a rolling run format. (even though I'm not a fan of racing on the roll but I understand a lot of people are) This could be set up very easily by having a marker further up the track (50m for example) You launch like normal at the start off the green but must hold first gear until you reach the second marker and then its game on. So you could pussy it out of the hole in first then nail it at the 2nd marker, or go for a full launch and try and get ahead before the rolling run marker. If that makes sense. That way it is real street, no bullsh*t and no excuses.

  18. get a better cooler than the monza, a few reputable mobs do a cooler you can use with stock crossover. get a good hotside pipe and under battery pipe - cannot be seen so will look stock

  19. the air goes from outside of car to the turbo in like a second. then through cooler to throttle body in like another second. no time to heat up from engine bay temps. only the turbo will cook the air, that's what an intercooler is for.

  25. Russell Clarke is a crook and a *beep*. Rodney Jane isn't that much better but at least the track is safer. He will offer a private track day for cheap the day before a test n tune but be careful as this will be on an un-prepped surface. The other alternative is to run on a test n tune day in a separate category. HSVOC along with Harrop are having a private drag day at Calder this Saturday I think. It's only going to cost about $80 for a car. IMO this is the best tactic to take. Get all the forum sponsers to chip in a couple of $$$ to help contribute towards the day and for trophy's and I think you could run a very similar day. Particulary if it is an 'open to all car event', then I think Calder would be very attainable. Just my 2c

  27. I can finally add atomic valve springs and a pw surge tank to the list of mods (I'll be fitting them next week). I haven't had any dramas without them but thought I had better throw in a couple of safety items.

  34. At the end of that tube there was another tube with the same tuner. He said the stock GTS pulled 268kws.. He then went on to do exhaust, air intake and tune. Finished up with 303rwkw. That seems more like it. I wouldnt underestimate the HSV's...They are a great car to drive.. fat midrange and predictable power. Turbos may have the advantage but their on/off nature can get frustrating at times. And we mustnt forget.. if it wasnt for the efforts of holden/HSV over the years.. it kept Ford on their toes .. even from all the way back to 82 when it dropped the mighty cleavland..in my eyes.. it wasnt really till the Miami came along that ford was finally back in the race Not discrediting the mighty F6.. but theyre not V8's at the end of the day... So if your mate wants a HSV he wont be dissapointed.. because for some its not all about 400m sprints ..but more the bits in the middle. And rest assured.. Expensive Daewoo will have ford up against the ropes when it released their S/C variant in the not so distant future. Now thatll be a stouch worth watching!! Cheers

  35. I didn't see it say rwkw anywhere? The GTS is rated at 325 flywheel kw from factory, he is wondering why there is such a big loss at the rear wheels compared to a F6 310. Explain to him that he'll need a supercharger and/or stroker kit to keep up with a ford turbo 6 (modified of course)

  36. I live on my own island in the pacific ocean, it consists of just a racetrack and some workshops and a small house, I make the laws so no cat is required. Dont think it would be a muffler as it was hitting a laggy 17psi right until I gutted the cat now the responce is much better but it stops at 15psi ?.
