  1. Had Micko back in with his beautiful BA XR6 Turbo and this time it was to swop out his SS Xforce exhaust for one of the Venom full SS system as he didn’t like the sound and clearance issues around the Xforce system Obviously I’m a big fan of the Venom systems and was my pleasure to remove and install the beautiful piece of kit that it is, coupled it up with a major service and some other incidentals and then onto the Dyno to give her a retune on 98 Fuel. Finished up at a picture perfect 330rwkw @ 16 psi and that’s as far as I’m willing to go on the old skinny Rod BA bottom end

  2. Had Adam come back after a long time in between mods and for a good reason it seems, Came in to go from a stage 2 package and leapfrog to a stage 4 + coilovers package which I rate at 450-500rwkw and suited to be the upper limit of what I comfortably suggest the stock FG bottom end will do repeatedly as we all know that it “Can” do silly numbers but for a very short period of time which isn’t recommended obviously 😂 Anywhoo in went this list of mods Garrett GTX G2 3582, my spec 1.06 rear housing with 39mm port & flapper, Garrett 11.8 psi actuator & full SS gas

  3. I just thought that I'd drop in and say "hi". I've been a bit busy with the SS and I haven't really done much to the car. I've installed the 52 mm radiator and deleted the header tank. And the rocker cover has been sent for chrome.. That's about it. I had a few spare parts floating around, so I decided to put them to use. I used a FG series one block. It sonic tested the best that I have found - 0.125" was the thinnest section in any bore. The others were very meaty. We offset bored that cylinder , to help keep it as thick as possible. The block has also been surfaced

  4. All farken righty then... Cams Vernier gears Finished porting the head and the exhaust gasket. I didn't go all out and cut down the exhaust guides cos I cbf. You can see where the previous gasket was pushing water when the boost was wound up.

  5. Had Matty back in after he decided to upgrade his turbocharger to an Aeroflow 6662 ( GTX G2 3582 equivalent ) and a Ultrex 4* Cat back to suit his already installed Advance 4* Dump & Cat. This vehicle is fitted with a KPM 460 Drop in module and reg kit and on E85 unfortunately the workshop that fitted it didn’t get told or optioned to upgrade the wiring kit when purchasing the module and melted the module plug top. So under warranty KPM replaced the module and still suggested it was ok to use without a wiring kit.... Anyway when I got her into the thick of tuning it was obv

  6. Well we’ve just been doing some finishing touches... waiting on curtains and shutters and some furniture but we mounted the TVs on the weekend.... loving the living area and the built In cabinetry is now also. (don’t mind the alfresco which is a junk area) Completed bar... other than the holes in the ceiling which need patching. Bedroom cabinetry looking good also

  7. I got the head off today and there's not a lot to say really. The head and valves are still in the same condition as they were when I first assembled it. The block has minimal wear and there are just a couple of little scratches where the porcelain from the plugs got stuck, when the plugs broke. They barely pick up with the finger nail and are so small that they won't affect anything. So yerp there we go. I'll slap it back together and farken send it.

  8. Been a while since anyone posted on here but I’m excited to break the silence with some good news... Got offered a fairly awesome job yesterday. I’m now a Senior Project Manager (construction sector in government). It’s a job I’ve been dreaming and working toward for a long time now and stoked to have worked hard enough that an engineering degree wasn’t required due to enough proven experience and results. Pretty excited to say the least and ready to take on the new challenge! 😝🥰

  9. I didn't get a chance to try any second gear launches this weekend just gone (fun day for the Night Speed Drag Wars series I competed in) but was able to get some pretty consistent times. Managed 3 back to back 11.5**'s all at around 121.**MPH. Best was 11.515 @ 121.46MPH with 60' of 1.786. Fastest MPH on the day was 122.22. Feels like the stock 122k old suspension might be letting me down on the launch - although the wheelspin is what probably what saves my driveline haha Had the Mrs drive my XR6T while I drove her XR8 - side by side - epic fun watching your car cruise

  11. Had Karl @Roo32 catch up and decided it was time to modify his FG XR6T, now normally we only do this once but for Karl this is his Third FG turbo and the Third time we have done the modifications path haha gotta hand it to him, no matter what car he replaces it with he and many of us keep coming back to the mighty turbo barra !! This is his first ZF auto one as the previous two were manuals so up first out with the factory heat exchanger and in with one of my JD TUNING ADELAIDE ZF transmission cooler kits and full flush / service. Big major engine service ready to prep the vehicle fo

  13. So far I've taken off the rough surface with a carbide bur and have hit it with a 60 grit paper wheel. At this stage I'm not checking the flow but it might be something to do in the future. If you meant port matching, I'll be making sure the gaskets aren't intruding into the air flow and might have a quick check of the manifolds to make sure the isn't a step up for the air. As far as the difference it will make, I'm not sure. The barra ports are already well shaped but there is a rough surface that can be cleaned up, casting marks here and there and also a fairly decent bump right

  14. Got the rest of the car back together last night and went for a successful road test! Got the cooling system sorted first and got the pressure tester on it while I was doing other things. No leaks! Could it have just been the gasket? Maybe... The car didnt miss a beat on the easy going hour long road test and only time will tell if things hold up. plan is to check things over today and see how everything looks. In the next week I aim to get a new radiator in it and I've also ordered the thermostat housing bleeder for quicker fill ups. Dominator also supplied this spacer type plate which loo

  18. Looked around for a decent used surge and didnt really find anything. Stuff missing, old pumps and hefty price tags so I decided to go new. Looked at the single 044 and thought for a little more I'll go with the single pierburg pump. Quality thing too bloody nice to hide under the car!

  23. Maxx performance. I can't complain with the tune he's done. Its very good. There is only some minor personality stuff I would change to suit my own taste. As a seat of the pants comparison I have a 470rwkw VF tuned by APS and the xr6 drives better than the tune in that. So for that I rate his tune. But... Just can't stand it that he won't unlock it so I ask everyone to please stay away.

  26. Removed the cigarette lighter and replaced it with a USB quick charge port. Has a type C port on it! So futuristic and sh*t. Also has a voltmeter integrated. Not sure I like that part but overall fit and finish is amazing. Photo doesn't do it justice, looks like its not in straight but trust me I made sure it was square 🤣🤣 With the cover closed it looks almost factory, doesn't stick out like dogs balls. (I need a new shifter boot) Link to it for anyone curious

  31. All went smooth on the end. Started to run out of steam and left the in tank pump for another day. I checked fuel pressure at idle and it looked ok so I will aim to swap the lift pump mid week.

  32. Through a bit of testing I favour my above picture (85/140 penrite ) for the Trutrack as it’s the quietest yet maintains perfect engagement. You'll find that Trutracks are a fairly clunky style LSD and can actually really feel lacking in confidence with lower than 140 weight oil but this is purely my opinion from doing quite a few installations and services to come up with this. back when Harrop did the Trutrack they were brilliant, Today’s Eaton Trutrack is very average of a LSD but can take abuse well, wouldn’t recommend for a “nice” daily vehicle

  35. Well, you’re out of reg capacity with the GFB so it’s either time for a twin feed rail and Turbosmart FPR1200 set up as I do or piss off the 460 and bang in something smaller. Now just be honest with yourself and the end goal and kit it out accordingly. If you’re never going to the 500rwkw zone then go a smaller intank and keep the GFB or step up now and commit to a solid fuel system that can see you into the 500 zone “IF” or when it might happen

  36. Okay just because I’m bored in a meeting I’ll play the game with just my own direct customers that I found back through photos .... you know because been there done that, what would I know .... 🤣 We’ve been playing the “ What MPH does your dyno sheet trap” for over a decade on the XR6T platform and I’m being generous with the above post statement as there was some very staunch members who would kick you every which way to Sunday if you had a 400rwkw car that couldn’t trap 127mph minimum. Remember your fastest run typically will generate the days lowest MPH but as a general my above

  40. Just pulled the trigger on the Kelford 218-C cams and a set of Atomic vernier gears. Will be interesting to see the difference it make on the dyno. Eventually there will be a high stall converter added to the mix so that should enable decent launches again.

  41. Thought I’d do an update on the new cooking set up... Cannot say how much I love it!!! Got a Westinghouse cooktop... honestly I went for the most economical but largest one I could find/afford and it is performing amazingly. The elements are far enough apart I’ve never once not had enough room, the largest element is a twin so can be used for small or large, the cast iron pieces can be removed for cleaning of the whole set up... and it’s just working well so far. Much similar to the oven, Westinghouse again and working well, all digital and seems to be very

  43. It says run #18 on the sheet. It feels the fastest its ever been. When I picked it up, it would dance on the tyres when getting on it but this is full blown wheel spin and then the hose pops off. I've got 2, pillar mounted and through the torque app. Highest registered was 16psi but again not accurate as the hose comes off. I didn't have a single issue with the hose since fitting it the way jet suggested and about 3 months driving since the tune. I will have to sort the rad out and look at it again. No ping detected. Yea I'm not blaming the tuner at all just it might have star
