August 2, 201412 yr #10161 6 plus 6 is the standard GT turbo style, so your turbo should have already had this... If it was a billet wheel then it is lighter and stronger and might spool up a little sooner than the stock GT3582R.7PSI is the same size actuator as standard (close enough, stock is 5psi - most people go for a 12 or 13PSI actuator for the early round of mods). You say you've made more torque but less power - torque gets you going faster - power keeps you going/accelerating - this would explain the symptoms you described.3.9 diff gears would also mean you would be faster with initial acceleration but would lack top end... although you probably didnt get to the top end with the speed you said you got to... but it would make the top of 2nd and mid range of 3rd a little bit slower.
August 2, 201412 yr #10162 The stock FG's are almost a second quicker over the 1/4 (correct me if I'm wrong) and all of that is in the low down, early spool side of things. That is a hell of a lot to catch up to on the street. If you want to try a "roll on" test with your mate it'll have to be on the "private" freeway at the 120+ end of the scale. The FG's run out of puff about the same time yours starts to find its legs - unfortunately for side by side testing anything legal has expired by that time Edited August 2, 201412 yr by Rab
August 2, 201412 yr #10163 He has a 6+6 billet compressor Similar to the PTEs On the street too it there isn't enough space to really showcase the power of these things A vt commy didn't lose to me that badly through the twisties.Go to the strip Totally different story
August 2, 201412 yr #10164 yes its a billet wheel .was originally get the car tuned by elite ,but they treated me not nicely so decided to go to real dyno instead .but elite said not fit the 12 psi actuator so I fitted the 7 psi one .they apparently never fitted a aftermarket actuator to any of there cars ,and they run more than 400 rwkw .so I do not know who to listen to ,real dyno said to use a 12 psi actuator ?
August 2, 201412 yr #10165 both automatics ,mine a btr modified his a stock 6 speed zf Id reckon that would be it, straight up. The 6 speed auto is pretty quick. Btr your in first for about 3 weeks
August 2, 201412 yr #10166 there'd only be 1 reason NOT to fit a 12PSI actuator - you want to run a minimum PSI of LESS than 12PSI... There's a very good chance you're running that much boost or more. I'd have fitted a 12PSI actuator for almost any basically modded XR6T.
August 2, 201412 yr #10167 Id reckon that would be it, straight up. The 6 speed auto is pretty quick. Btr your in first for about 3 weeksI am running 3.9 diff gears
August 2, 201412 yr #10169 the engine is tuned for 12 psi boostmight have to take it to the drags next time there on at willowbank .maybe a test and tune ?next weekend just looked and there is a test and tune next weekend .I am going that's for sure
August 2, 201412 yr #10170 you love making multiple different posts... lol, just edit your existing post - you have 30min to do that.aside from that.. if you're making 12PSI max boost, a 12PSI actuator is perfect - a half decent tuner will make your car see 12PSI as early as possible (the diff gears and billet wheel on the turbo will help) and it'll probably hold it all the way to the red line... with only 12 PSI you shouldn't realistically need the port and flapper mod - 12PSI is simple to control - judging by previous events.
