  1. Sounds like the fender was fitted with the wrong bolt sequence. There are 8 bolts on the FG fender, and their sequence is critical to the fit outcome.
  2. dark argent is the colour, Ford doesn't "name" its rims.
  3. Don't worry about the Falcon being collectable - its those 2013 Toyota Aurons that will be rare as hen's teeth!
  4. You don't - they're welded in to the rear floor sub assy in GLG.
  5. Nah... The real thing looks more gooderer than the usual motor/wheels chops.
  6. You can only set the tyre/wheel size to a predetermined set of values (as has already been mentioned). When the calibrations for DSC, TCS, ABS, SAS behaviour, etc, were developed they were created for the tyre/wheel sizes available on the FG program (ie, 17, 18, and 19 inch. From memory we may have had a 16inch steel wheel too once?). Therefore, the only choices you would have are those, since they are the only sizes that a calibration exists for, unless you're friendly with Bosch and don't mind taking your car to Sweden to spin around on the ice for a while...

    Next Vic Cruise

There's no cruiseworthy twisties in lysterfield lol. The Dandenongs are the best twisties in the "distance to cbd : fun" ratio - just pick a random entry point and try a new road every time. Eat scones, then run over a cyclist and drive some more.
  8. Not sure why all the mags think a global performance vehicle would use the rims off a not-long-for-this-world local product?
  9. Geelong also does (almost) all the stamping, and some sub assembly construction, like rear floors. I'm not saying any more on the other topic. My post, whilst not actually saying anything, was born out of frustration on a particular day, but nevertheless as a passionate fan I am now left cynical, disappointed, and disillusioned with many facets of the business, number one being MARKETING!!! You can all now see the cumulative effect of the thinly veiled efforts of those in charge over the last few years. All the spin, all the "great work", and now the "sudden but expected". Back to topic. Prodrive designed the current FPV package (stickers, badges, bought some red brakes), but with them out of the picture there would be no team to design a separate line-up, even one with as little content as the FPVs (which I'm being a little harsh to in all fairness, especially since I own one). Therefore, all models will need to be designed by Ford product development, who are busy working on overseas programs and distance themselves from local product as much as they can, so I'm not expecting much if anything, and if these rumours are true I am not surprised. I have said don't wait for a GT, unless you want one with shadow rims and a limited edition badge on the boot (Ford's typical special pack marketing boost for Falcon)
  10. Assembly Plant (body construction, paint, and final assembly)
  11. In Geelong.
  12. Ah I see. Ford, the company that jokes about making things people might be interested in but makes advertisements that surely must be jokes, but unfortunately aren't: a la "the girl with one shoe cause her dad said so" and "the asian guy who turns up his car stereo so he can't hear his baby crying" or "the young couple being haunted by the ghost of John Farnham"
  13. http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/first-looks/2014-ford-mustang-sedan hmmmm - seems like there was a bigger American picture in killing off the Falcon after all...
  14. Pictures would help but my gut instinct is to say be wery wery careful!
  15. Won't happen becausemightsellsomecars
  16. 2016 more likely
  17. I heard shopping centre, but I also thought the land was given to Ford in the 50s to encourage growth in the area
  18. Makes you wonder if it could really be incompetence or just all part of the plan? Stupid or Liar? (for all the Adam Carolla fans out there)
  19. Mondeo, Malibu/commodore, Camry Why replace a car in a shrinking market segment with a car that would sell less? The plan is surely obvious from the "marketing" over the last 2 years: distance yourself from large sedans, make no reference to any products being Aussie built, introduce new technology that answers common key concerns with the product (eg, ecoboost and LPI as an answer to the gas guzzler tag) and then dont tell anyone, remove the Falcon nameplate from people's minds, act in amazement when sales fall and you "need" to shut down. Apparently large sedans are on the nose all over the world. Good thing Ford is smarter than BMW and Mercedes. Those German fools!
  20. It does look great. Don't hear about people walking away in droves because of ugly looking FGs though. I just need to figure out how to get the VF interior into the 2014 falcon...
  21. I'd say its more like AU3 - BA without the interior. Not sure about work - pretty confident there's room for me in the Ford world post 2016. Haven't found an alternative yet that is as fun and with a product as tangible as building cars. I've had a crack at BHP, and a handful of my former colleagues are already there, but it just doesn't quite resonate with me. Even though I'm young I'm already starting to feel the pull of working for myself or being a key player in a small business, rather than start at another big company and put up with a new set of the same old politics. Packages will be offered, and plenty of the guys around the plant are waiting for me to come up with my own business lol. Pretty sure it would have to involve cars (or guitars)
  22. Think more 2013 Mondeo front end with FG doors and interior and you'll be closer
  23. I've driven one - it was a boat. Full of tech but not as "dynamic" as the falcon. Mind you I drove a RS focus just before it, a GT-P and then a Mustang Boss 302 afterwards, so might be relative. After that day my thoughts were the aussie cars (falcon/territory) were more dynamic (better handling, less "boaty") then all the yank cars (explorer, edge, taurus, fusion), mustang and F150 aside.
  24. lol - I understand there's a shortage of intercoolers
  25. You can't honestly believe involvement with V8 supercars had any bearing on the decision. You don't make failing cars just so you can lose money racing something that looks kinda like them. The reality is the teams could continue for years with the same cars, since they're not produced by Ford anyway. The comments on all the news sites make me feel sick about where we are heading as a country. Last week was the derogatory remarks about Holden's (frankly) excellent attempt at the VF commodore, and this week the same people are demading money be paid back (they're my taxpayer dollars too, fools) and stating how much their better Japanese and Euro cars are. I wish we had a "20 years ahead" crystal ball because I'm concerned. How can we afford all our Euro cars if we don't have jobs?
