  1. I did ring them up.My premium is now $702 agreed value $36,400.Still would not move on the excess.
  2. These bloody insurance companies are at it again! I've been with Aami for approx. 20 years. The last claim was an accident that happened 16 years ago which was determined not my fault.I actually haven't any claims that have been my fault. This year they decide not only to increase my premium but also my excess from $625 to $1,200 ! The reason given to me was that this reflects the new system especially for cars like my FG F6 and the excess cannot be changed. I am classed in the "Diamond" category(the highest)of their "Safe Driver status",that says I am entitled to a large discount. I have a lifetime rating one with AAMI.I understand that premiums tend to increase year after year but I just cannot stomach the ridiculous rise in the excess payment. So much for loyalty.
  3. With only $103 million dollars to spend I think Ford did a great job. The real life version does look better than the CGI version!
  4. Ford will be releasing more details about the updated Falcon in the last week of July, possibly including details about the XR8.
  5. From CarAdvice site.... they said priced at $77,990.Slightly cheaper than the R spec.but will the dealers have their own prices?
  6. If this car is made It will be quite expensive, maybe more than the R-Spec! http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor-news/exclusive-ford-to-revive-351-badge-for-final-gt-falcon-20140321-356wm.html
  7. I'm not sure if you're in Victoria but if so,you may be ordered to attend and pay for "hoon" school before your licence is returned.I believe the "hoon" school is a few hundred dollars??? The law is such that if you were to bash and rob a little old lady, you would come away with less punishment than your current "crime" of exceeding the speed limit. The law sucks sometimes. :(
  8. Very sad, but hardly surprising. No more Australian manufactured cars.Toyota along with GM-H realised that they couldn't compete with Ford's future imports and they "pulled the plug".On Sunday I went to my local Audi dealer.I was looking at a new DSG 1.8T A3 AUDI with some options $53,000 on the road.I had a look at an A5 with 6,000 klms that had a 2.0T 4 cylinder .That was $83,000 on the road.It made me think about the people who are now buying F6s for $55,000 on the road.I know there is the Audi name and quality interior etc but the thought saddened me that Australia offered cars such as the XR6Twith 270kw and FPVs at over 300kw at "reasonable" prices and soon,it will be no more :(
  9. You did well against the RS6.It's difficult when they have awd(maybe with launch control)and the DSG tranny.
  10. We have seen stills of the Falcons in car bras but a mate of mine saw an XR8(with car bras) in Geelong city.He said the raised hood is quite longer and wider than the current bump on the GT/GS hood.He was quite impressed with the "meaness" of the XR8 look due to the new hood.
  11. I don't have the original tyres but the tyres I do have(Michelins Pilot Super Sports) are the same size as the factory Dunlops. I will double check the fluid condition. I never thought of the steering rack;sounds plausible.I may drop it into the dealer this week to check it out.I always prefer to go and see the dealer armed with some imfo/knowledge,just in case they try to bulldust me.
  12. Just wondering whether anyone has had their power steering feel like it's being wound up like an elastic cord while you turning the steering wheel? I 've checked the tyre pressures and they were ok .I've also checked the fluid and it's just above the refill line.I'm not sure if I am imagining it or not? It feels like a tightness as I turn the wheel when I'm backing out(or going forward) the car going very slowly. The slower I go the tighter it feels. The analogy of the elastic band probably best describes the steering wanting to snap back to the opposite direction of the turning steering wheel. Any help much appreciated!
  13. I've got an FG F6 and I am toying with the idea of getting another new FG F6 .I 've never driven a supercharged Ford or any other S/C'd car for that matter. The XR8 will be the last Falcon and judging by some "artist" impressions it should look quite good.I suppose the XR8 will give you a more immediate throttle response and the sound should be great. The mid range torque delivery of the F6 is addictive and you feel like just riding the crest of the torque "wave" right until the car cannot give anymore. I was given a $15,000 change over figure for a new MKii F6 which I thought was too steep,I may have to consider the updated new Xr6T. :( Good luck!
  14. The Mag did use a "rubbered up drag facility" doesn't mention which one.MOTOR was quite disappointed with times of both the Merc and M5.Apparently they tried countless times to match the official BMW/Merc times.I quite like the GTS because it challenges these Euros however I think the engine cannot match the other cars. it does well but I expected the acceleration rates 0-250+KM/h to be better. The biggest engine in the group begins to be left behind from about 110km/h.From 0-110 km/h it beats and matches a couple of the Euros. It also recorded the "slowest" 80-120km/h.time and the lowest 1/4 mile speed. It did well in the braking test. It would've been interesting to have a R-spec GT in the mix as well. Motor summed up the GTS as follows: "Quality ride, traction, strong brakes........Interior's shown up in this company, not as fast as it should be"
