  1. TIP: Dont spend 2hrs stuffing around requesting pids with the engine off. You will end up with a flat battery. I even had the icc and ac off.
  2. Did you change your units to metric in you vehicle profile? Cause if you change the unit in the pid itself that doesn't work. Torque will convert units automatically depending on your preference. 82 degrees seems right, should be close to coolant if your still running the heat exchanger.
  3. Pretty sure these days they just gap the injectors, and all their stickers have to be worth a couple of killer wasps
  4. Where was the cop chip on the carbie vh? Glued to the rotor button seems logical.
  5. Does this happen all the time polar? Coz I swear ive had it hit the limiter once or twice on the highway when kicking down. Left in auto aswell, its like you get a little wheelspin and the box gets caught out. Kick down at 100 would be somewhere at the top of 3rd. Do you have this issue say kicking down from 3rd-2nd and 2nd-1st. It is easier to hit boost cut in higher gears with more load. Could be way off. Maybe just a bit of wd40 in the boost solenoid would help. Start with the simple things.
  6. It comes from the 80's when they did actually tweak em. Nowdays its a myth... Exept for a certain destroyed FG Gt....
  7. Bro...Pics or..you know how it goes...
  8. Ill pm u
  9. Yes and no, its their and definitely possible. Im far from the first to try and crack fords custom pids, there hasn't been a great deal of work done on the falcon but have found some great info on other forums which have probably saved me a few months work atleast. I will elaborate on this further when I make some progress but basically it involves hyper terminal, using excel to analyse data and alot of patients.
  10. If you have the ford specific pids loaded there will be like 4 trans temp pids, go into torque scan and see which method is giving the correct reading. Should be close to your coolant temp. I can check exactly what pid it is when I get home.
  11. So good
  12. There have been a pretty large variety of engines used in formula 1, even cars with 6 wheels. But size and configurations is not really what im getting at. Its this focus on being green and economical all of a sudden which sorta started when they dropped the v10. Fact is formula 1 is losing its charm and so will v8 supercars if it goes down a similar path. I've grown up with v8 supercars quite literally as the category formed when I was a child, I do remember the last of the atcc days, I remember brock doing what looked to be a very handy qualifying lap of Bathurst in his bombodore and then getting his ass handed to him by skaife in a gtr. I've already accepted that one day soon we will all be driving boring ass hybrids and that the days of selling performance cars to the masses are over. I dont see why motor sport has to go this way. The current COTF formula is perfect and basically allows any manufacturer to get involved. The v8 in the Nissan is from a patrol and Im not sure where the volvos get theirs but neither of those cars are available with a v8. So whats the big deal? Nobody will be driving v8 street cars soon enough, so that means we cant have them in race cars? Nascar is a bad example coz its gay, but it works. Race on Sunday sell on Monday as they say. I dont think they will be changing to 6cyl or diesel any time soon...they only stopped using carbies in 2012 lol. The v8 supercar formula is similar but has better technology, tracks with right hand corners and cars that look almost exactly like their road going counter parts to anybody without a measuring tape. Sorry bout the rant mate, Im not at all against change, just the direction in which it seems to be heading.
  13. Sounds pretty normal, gets most first time zf owners. You can get it retuned so it just smashes the next gear and powerskids for maximum respect.
  14. Those gifs you posted arent working for me but it sounds like your talking about the torque control, was there a "fart" from the exhaust at the same time as the hesitation? Have you just acquired the car? Its all normal and will be more/less aggressive depending on the situation. I can make mine go BOOM and shoot a flame if I short shift somewhere around 4000-4500rpm at WOT, which is just after it breaks traction in 1st. Good fun in the city or a tunnel...or anything that echoes... Also hitting the hard cut causes a massive hesitation and ruins your gearbox. Never had it happen in D though. Just when stuffing up a manual shift.
  15. it will make the spool noise a little louder, no real performance gain. not as loud as a turbo side intake....or a bit of fly screen and a cable tie over the inlet of the turbo...
  16. Maybe volkskoda could get involved then? That focus on developing new technology used to be on cutting edge performance, now its compromised. IMO
  17. yeah cant wait for v6 supercars. changing to anything other than a v8 would be silly. As long as the doors open and close and the lights are real I don't care what they do. What really annoys me is all this green technology and remaining relative to the changing end user demographic sh*te. Its motor sport! Let us be! Example: F1, they should be ethanol slurping turbo v10 monsters by now, but they are effectively an ecoboost prius that sound like sh*te. Why..?
  18. thought that was just a pressure switch, turns out it is a combination and does EOT aswell. Cheers
  19. I have ssl all round And I think sssl rears would be better cause it would bring the nose up a touch. Mine scrapes a fair bit on some driveways. looks better level like Danimal's. The factory rake is a bit gay and a matching set of springs replicate that just at a lower height.
  20. Well still no progress on oil temp but it has to be possible, as I have mentioned the ford manuals make reference to an EOT and being able to check the pid. Interestingly the mode 22 ford specific pid doesn't work on my ranger either. This information is from ford US so it would seem for some obscure reason ford Australia have used a pid all of their own. And as there is no reason for it to be broadcast on the can to another ecm. It cannot be "heard". It must be requested so we need to know the pid there is no other way. What im thinking though is if I disconnect the EOT and generate a DTC I can request a freeze frame from when the dtc was generated which will give me the pids that were associated with the Dtc. Atleast narrowing it down. So anybody know where the EOT sensor is on an fg. As far as im aware the sender on the L.H sise of the block is just a pressure switch.
  21. Or RDP, really the only reputable tuners in brisvegas. There may be more but they are yet to make a name. Also Hi-torque on the gold coast have a pretty good name aswell
  22. it should be pretty simple, somebody has probably already worked it out. A photo of the back of the switch will help us. Im guessing there is only going to be 2 wires there which will actually only be 1 wire from the barrel. If I was going to retro fit one I would wire the switch at the key normally closed when the ignition is on, button normally open. only needs to make contact for a second and these cars attempt to start for a set period as we all know.
  23. Matty I've been looking at the same setup as you with the drl's/projector plus HID. Of course all the photos on fleabay and chit look amazing. Do you have any photos of your setup? like day/night shot of the DRL's, and some shots of the projector/hid's from front on and what you see on the road.sorry for thread hijack xr6tnv
  24. If it was a true aquaplane and the slide was not induced by wheel spin the DSC is useless, no amount of gadgets can help when there is simply no grip. Bad luck mate, seems like your going to do OK out of it haha. Your OK as well which is the main thing.
  25. Not as much as went into the o2 sensor
