  1. He didn't seem overly suggestive of any, but did say to choose one that fits your budget. Thing is... they all are
  2. Great points guys. I really am a noob wheb it comes to it, so any help is appreciated. My knowledge is mostly limited to classic Minis! So it looks like the PW Stage 2.2 would be the go. What are your thoughts? Cheers
  3. Alright, this may be another Plazmaman vs Process West debate, but I hope it won't be - I have read the 8 pages and it has wrecked my mind far more than I care to admit! I have a BF Mk1 XR6T, which I am going to begin modifying. Originally wanting around the 300kw mark, I spoke to Bruce Heinrich who agreed that an intercooler upgrade would be a good start. Oh yeah, I will be doing the upgrades in 'bites'; to make it financially possible and to keep me busier for longer! Of course a pump, actuator, injectors, cat and dump pipe will all be coming - and he said I could expect 350-380kw from this. That would be insane, given this is my daily driver, so we can assume I want 350kw as a limit. Ok, so knowing this bit of background info, I have been looking at options. I want to go a kit with a CAI for maximum dosing uleh points. I think I have narrowed it down to : 1. Plazmaman Bar&Plate Stage 2 kit. I understand it doesn't come with the hot side piping, but I don't think this really impacts me too much - or should it?! 2. Process West Stage 2.1. OR maybe 2.2? The difference between the two is eliminating the crossover pipe with a throttle body relocation on the Stage 2.2. Are they much of a muchness, given my anticipated maximum limit? Any help appreciated - it is slowly driving me even more insane. Cheers guys Will.
  4. Not too sure. If nobody else answers by the time I have seen him, I'll let you know on Monday
  5. Lovely. I'm going to see Bruce Heinrich about my first tune, and I'll see if he can diagnose the noise. With any luck the taxman might be able to make an Eaton Truetrac come my way too!
  6. Hi guys, I've searched high and low but can't find a definitive answer, so thought I would start a new topic. I am looking at a set of Work wheels: F 18x9 +30 R 18x10 +38 From what I have calculated (based on the factory 8J +36 wheels) Fronts will have 7mm less clearance, and poke out an extra 19mm - from what I understand this will be fine; is that true? Rears will have 27mm less clearance, and poke out an extra 23mm - the extra outer poke might be ok, but I think the 27mm less clearance might pose an issue. Can anyone confirm? Cheers Will.
  7. Hi guys, Bought a BF XR6T ZF Magnet ute on the weekend, 98k kms, Ego. Love it. Had an FG XR6T ute a few years ago now and loved it, but thought I would save myself a good 8-10 grand by getting a BF (much more sensible while I am saving for a house!) Couple of things: Firstly, the car doesn’t seem to go like the FG. It won’t bust out in wheelspin when it hits boost like the FG did. It has a strange ‘flapping’ sound when it’s under load (and boost) – mostly evident in 2nd gear when the boost is probably highest under load. It sounds airy, like it could be a boost leak? I assume this has a lot to do with the power delivery. Everything else is sweet; idles fine, doesn’t misbehave or miss or anything. Secondly, the LSD is not quite LSD. I tried a quick launch (maybe using a bit of brake… ahem!) and all it left was a horrible single pegger. I tried again a few minutes later and same deal. I was gutted! Is it common for these to get slack and only throw one wheel? Furthermore, if punting it on a right turn it will open up the inside wheel, but if I do the same thing turning left, it will kick out. Bizarre. Cheers guys! Will.
  8. Great tip. Thanks for that! I'm checking the ute out tomorrow - fingers crossed its in mechanical and cosmetic condition as the ad states. Then the fun begins... new flat tray, wide wheels, lows - ahhhh why do we do it to ourselves!
  9. Brilliant. Cheers for your help!
  10. Cheers for the help guys! So I assume if it has 1 tonne leafs and I find them a bit harsh, it would be suitable to put in standard leafs? They mount up with the exact same points etc?
  11. Hi guys, I'm in the market for a XR6 BF ute, and a couple of one tonner versions have popped up. I will be making a custom flat tray eventually for whichever version I buy - so the one tonner makes sense in the way that I won't need to store a big bulky style-side tub anywhere! Just wondering what actual differences there are in the way of the XR6 one tonner versus the standard XR6? Cheers Will
  12. Smackers XR6T's F6 on Kings SSL front and rear
  13. Thought this may be a good thread to help people visualise how their lowered FG may look with certain spring combinations. I'll kick it off with this (not mine) Lovells 'low' front springs Reset rear leafs.
