  1. Damn! Cant tell from the pics, but is the damage only to the front quarter?
  2. Steve, thanks for the heads up. Have joined the group buy. My diff is playing up as well - can you start a group buy for wavetrac centre
  3. Borg Warner?
  4. I have 2 walbro 460s in a pw surge and it sounds exactly the same.
  5. We are all Mike
  6. The shockworks brakes look like a nice bit of kit as well
  7. Got mine in black from RBS
  8. Heads up for old mate, theres an mta900 going cheap on aff
  9. My pte6235 went 450rwkw on 98. Was not maxed out either. Great thing is it also spools quicker than a 3582. Bad thing is it costs $2800 these days!

Damn, that's some bad luck. Got away with it in a way as the damage was not too bad. How did the 4WD lose it?
  11. I recently paid $1700 for one. Theres raced turbos or whatever they are called, who are sponsors on here and recondition turbos. May be able to help. Was it oil starvation that caused this?
  12. that's great, awesome news!
  13. I know intune had some failures years ago, but I have not heard of any recently. Intune is not far from my place, but based on the bad rep I have been going to Autotech for years.
  14. Bad advice....
  15. OP, I had a PTE6235 and now a GTX3576r. The GTX does spool about 400-500rpm earlier, but feels slow compared to the Precision. Spool is similar to the GT3576 and keeps pulling all the way where the GT drops off after 3500rpm. But there is no comparison to the PTE6235, once it comes on boost it is sensational and pulls way harder than the GTX. From 2700rpm the midrange is sensational. On pump 98 you are looking at 50-60rwkw peak power difference, but it is much more in the midrange. On the dyno I was hitting 400rwkw by 120km/hr. To me the GTX3576 is soft and the PTE is the ultimate street turbo.
  16. Im a bit slow today but think I get it now. The quick spool valve fits between an undivided manifold and twin scroll housing. At low rpm the valve is closed and all the exhaust gas is diverted into one scroll for quick spool. Is that right?
  17. I still dont get it. Isnt that picture of the quick spool valve showing the valve across one scroll? Or is there a T3 version? I cant see how it would work on a single scroll housing. Wouldnt it just cause engine backpressure and heat, and limit turbine flow and cause more lag?
  18. So that valve blocks one scroll on the turbine housing effectively making a smaller housing. Does that not block exhaust gases in the manifold from 3 cylinders? That cant be a good thing?
  19. Feel for you Viper and understand the pain. Recently blew number 6 cylinder in my car, debris took out the turbine wheel on my turbo as well. My car was highly modified though, succumbed to a faulty injector. For a complete job was quoted $5-7k for new Ford FG engine or $11-13k for 1000hp built engine. New turbo on top of that. Hope Ford come to the party for you!
  20. Now that Gunna has canned his project, wonder if he will sell his built engine?
  21. Well this sucks! Feel for you buddy. Presume you bought privately and not through a dealer? Surprised your tuner didnt pick this up during the first tune. I think Ford are still selling brand new fg shorts for $3k. Hope you get it fixed.

Congrats, awesome time! Regarding the r888s - noise gets bad above 70km/hr. Bear in mind my car has sound deadening as well.
  23. Good on you for looking out for your boy. Too many people these days prioritise the wrong things. When your ready, send the ute to Jet. He specialises in difficult cases and will tune it for you.....
  24. Presume the sprint has f6 engine and turbo? So the extra power is a mild tune?

Agree with the R888. But be prepared for the noise, sometimes sounds like there is a light plane in the back
