  1. Yeah, I am curious on this one too. I would have though the external surge allows for a greater margin of error / redundancy. If you are starting from scratch I would get going upfront with the KPM drop in system.
  2. I have the goodyears on the front and PSS on the back. I must say in ideal conditions - dry, ambient temp >25C etc its amazing when you can grip all they way through 1st/2nd/3rd with the PSS. I previously had F1A2 on the back in 245 profile and they were also very good for dry straight line traction, but are noisier than the PSS. How many ksm are you guys getting with the PSS?- mine have not got much left after 15000kms of street driving. With high powered XR6t's I think spirited driving in the wet is not an option - the things break traction in the dry no matter what tyres you have. The F1A2's on the front make a big difference in the wet and are amazing for emergency breaking in all conditions. For a street car definitely consider F1A2 on the front - Iam on my second set. For the rear there are lots of good options. The guys who track their cars will give you good advice regarding tyres.
  3. I have them on the back of mine in a 275 profile. Much better than invos but not perfect. They require a lot of heat to perform, wet weather performance is poor. There have been reports of blow outs due to soft sidewalls. Personally I think goodear f1a2 are better - had them on the back before. These days everone raves about the r888, although I have not yried them
  4. Sounds like an awesome build. If you have the money go with Joe's suggestion. The KPM units are a hit at the moment. If short on funds there are cheaper options with an external surge
  5. Have a chat to Matt at race brakes. He sometimes gets excess kits in cheap.
  6. Matty, good turbos but bad idea for the OP as he will also need to pay for a custom tune. Second hand stock turbo would be best
  7. Yeah, if I was starting from scratch again would definitely be tyres first, then shocks/bushes/brakes. Lots of good options to up the power, multiple injectors/intercoolers/turbos etc. The key is having a great tuner. The other under rated mods I have been surprised by are sound deadening the boot and doors and adding the spark booster, Road/driveline noise is much better. The added spark and wider plug gaps makes the engine much much smoother.
  8. Nice build, love the orange as well. Congrats! Why did you decide to go screamer/external gate?

I have stav's plate with these gauges. Hooked up oil temp and oil pressure as well. Nice bit of kit. Can set up in 10 mins and take out just as easily. Bomber, seeing you like a smooth running car have a look at a spark booster. Makes things even more refined.
  10. If they are any fg2 variants around u should be able to do a deal. However, the fgx will hold resale value better - but still be crap! For reference last year you could get an auto xr6t with lux pack for just under 40k. The fgx g6et is great value with the price drop and the xr8 is the most desirable with supply issues.
  11. Great info Gaz!
  12. Nice, what was the cost?
  13. Well, if it is an option on the 1000hp system I would be interested. I realise its overkill, but that extra over-engineering gives peace of mind. This is for 450rwkw, and I frequently find myself with a low tank.
  14. Dave, are you planning to incorporate the holley mats into your intank systems?
  15. 6k for turbo and exhaust housing? Damn! If you upgrade the turbo to a gtx you will need a tune/xcal4, injectors etc. Can add up pretty quickly. You could source a second hand gt as a direct replacement pretty cheaply.
  16. The F6 (GT3582) turbo will not spool faster than your gtx. If you want to match the gt3576 down low look at the borg warner efr range. Very expensive though. The other option for faster spool is using a smaller exhaust housing, but will compromise your top end power
  17. I now use an aftermarket shifter. Best way to reduce noise/vibration is to put a small piece of rubber ($1 at clark rubber) or leather ( old belt) between the shaft adaptor block and the shifter. If you loosen the coupling bolts allowing a bit of play in the stick you will get much better shift quality as well.
  18. Is the trutrack an upgrade over the standard F6 LSD?
  19. I am also not sure about the turbo choice. The advice above is worth considering gunna.
  20. Why are you selling your injectors? They should be good for 450kw
  21. Ah, I did miss that part. You probably dont need to do valve springs on a new FG donk for 450kw. Also probably only need to do the oil pump gears if you are going to hit the limitier. Lots of unopened FG's getting around with 400-500rwkw.
  22. Didnt the engine you bought allready have upgraded valve springs?
  23. I have 450rwkw with manual and short shifter. Have not had any problems with the box but my stock clutch has slipped a few times and only has 25k kms on it. Definitely get a short shifter, changes it from feeling like a truck to almost honda like.
  24. Oh, and well spotted Gaz
  25. Dont know how to get the gearbox to work, but your going to need a bigger/better turbo. That engine sounds the goods and much cheaper than building from scratch. Is the owner on here?
