Years ago , the radar detection system sat on the dash and run off the lighter plug... The thing ping every 30seconds , and after a while you pulled and sat it in the glove box... It was able to used in your car and bike... I have seen these new systems , are they readily available - as I thought as years gone by , they were illegal . Do they need to be plumed in or can they be run and removed easily if you were ever stopped by the police ?

It must be a real blast during that 120 - 140 kph mark - Wahooooooo!!! . How on earth do you control yourself not to continue to push beyond that sweet spot ?

When will it be available ? . Do you know whether they have finally delivered a twin turbo V6 ? . It certainly look like it as it got away from the Late model camira reality easy .

Just 'cause the ute has been fitted with Brembo set up, won't mean that you're $3k in front of the game, if those rotors are shot you will be up for $2.5k min just to replace the front rotors ... My guess unless you have receipts for the upgrade the rotors will be shot. Years ago when I owned my F6 Tornado , guys around me were only getting 20,000k's out of their fronts before replacement . As you have stated , you need to itemize the mod's and then tackle the seller with each mod's specific questions , when , who, receipts , etc. I sold my F6 with 70k's manual , stock , and in pristine condition, with no money to spend and FPV hard lid , at $25k... So , yes, this is a very nice car with excellent mod's , but again, if the foundation is questionable , you may end up having to rebuild a 2003 BA . If it was me , either invest some small money to fly across to SA and meet with someone you trust to inspect the car ..better to have lost a day and some money today, then sink a lot of bad money into a car that wasn't what you had expected and wanted. I hope the car - this car , is the car you want , if not , walk away

As is very offen the case, if the car has been built with respect , as a long term keeper, than there will be real savings to had for the buyer / purchaser. However, if it been slapped together and is on the verge of failuring big time , what may seem as a great buy will quickly turn into a night mare . If you have questions, and it is clear you have , and good reason too, unless the reply is pausible and in line with what you would expect , then stay well clear. If it then passes the honesty check , then proceed to have the car checked by someone in the know and whom you trust before shelling out your hard earned. Good luck

I 've just gotta to sit tight until my day in court .......once the Magistrate hands down my penalty I will need to get on the phone and advise my current insurer .. I 've been with them for , I can not remember when , but it feels like forever - basically , my cars and bikes 've been insured with either Shannons (mod cars)or Western Underwriting(Bikes) and RACV(Stock cars) . I am hoping , RACV dont give me the flick , once I advise them , that I 've lost my licence for exceeding the speed limit in a 100k zone .. If they do ............I dont know what I will do ??? Any thoughts ??? I dont know that I want the car to be un - insurered whilst it sits in the garage - and I guess that little voice continues to haunt me , suggesting that if I dont get insurance - it maybe better to sell the car , and then come back into the market after my penalty period - only problem with that theory , I will drop a bundle on resale and wont be able to get back a new RSpec once it has been sold and I not sure at this stage whether the GT-F is in the same category as the RSpec ??? Those that 've lost their license for one reason or another - what has been your play when this happened to you - and would you have taken the same steps if it happened again today ?

Talking about insurance , I received my renewal policy and noted that the ageed value on the RSpec was downgraded by $25,000.(from $85,000 to $60,000). I nearly blew a gasket ....When I cooled down and composed myself, I called and was then transferred to an underwriter supervisor whom returned my call and stated that they would agree to re-instate the agreed value at $70,000. I still felt that it was short , but I agreed and thought I would do some homework and see if I get it re- instated closer to $80,000. What 've other F6, GS and GT found with their insurer?

What ever the killer warps and or tune, for a ute that was mighty impressive to run off the line so clean and straight .

Agree, with he way the road law is trending , the feature will be available , but you're toast if you use it ..

I not sure what is under the bonnet of the Mustang in the clip provided by Dagabond, but why are old and new American cars always should the best stock???. I can't honestly say I have stood on the kern listening to my car drive pass , as the only sound track I get is from the drivers seat - and unless it's in manual mode - I can honestly say - that Mustang sounds better than my car - Why?????

If you have a license - smile cause you're not going to have it for much longer !! Hahah However, Ford USA have to be applauded for endeavouring to give the people what they want - Who knows they may bring that type of thinking to Oz , and we may get the opportunity to purchase a 400rwkw supercharged sub 1500kg sedan for the price of a Aussie V8 . If they do, it turn the performance market on it's ear. We may hear Pazzo say 'the mass's have gone completely mad, and Ford can't stock these items quick enough' .. But then again he may remain firm with his so popular 'they won't sell' . Hahaha

Keith makes some excellent points - however , it still didnt dismiss the dealer from not delivering on a customer promise - they 've been found out and at the end , that is all the customer sees as the end result .. Forget that the dealer may have shifted heaven and earth to deliver the car on time and or before schedule - It all counts for very little , if the customer is not happy/satisfied at hand over (customer has a right to expect at delivery what was agreed / expected - Fake stripes I am sure wasnt part of the agreement !)..

Aaron - I say this with caution and respect - but this way too good a car for a sh*tter. Clearly , you have time and really money invested in such a sweet ride... It would bring me to tears if my sh*tter was that sweet . First drive to work in the underground carpark would make a mess of the rim walls . Hahaha

Over the years , and still to this day, I constantly get ribbed , about having a "car" in the garage (over the years they 've all been my weekend pride and joy drives) , and driving the daily sh*tter .. As Aaron stated it's a four cylinder sh*tter that owes me nothing except insurance and fuel... I service it and it gets a wash maybe every quarter(lucky if) I love driving it as I don't care where it is parked , and whether some clown runs a shopping trolley against the panels (that is , I don't care if I don't see them do it). I do missing driving my pride and joy , however, I would be unreconsolable if some clown was to mark it ...I hear you say, as do my family and friends , it is a car... However, it's not me looking after it that I don't trust - it's the clowns whom care very little about the belongings of others that worries me. The greatest argument , has been "life is too short, enjoy the things you love whilst you can". I must say I agree , with that point of view , however, they don't feel and see the smile when I drive the bat mobile on that special occasion. It's who I am , and for me, yes to a daily sh*tter... However, I am sure as others have pointed out , mathematically it makes no great sense to own two cars, but then again , how do account in $ for the size of that smile on that special drive...

It's sad , but there 're many Ralph stories like the one above...I am note sure the root cause is the brand . I have held many brands, and on reflection I can say , it is very much a relationship which you have with the shop/dealership/sales person , etc , that appears to make the difference . However, I don't know, whether in Ralph's example , it's Mazda itself that makes that customer service change happen without the dealership not feeling the pain of an out of pocket expense, or whether the dealership take it upon itself as a matter of after sale service. Would the same dealer have done the same , if instead of a Mazda , it had been an Jeep and or Ford?

I also agree , you will feel much better once you state your position and explain the situation to FPV .. One can only hope , that the wrongs will be corrected , once you have spoken to FPV ..

I also agree with FPV Tranny .......On my quest , I also was very disappointed with the service from the FPV sales representative .. What I found , is a lack of knowledge, lack of empathy for the brand , and a basic need for a sale at what ever cost .. Agree , do to dissimiliar to any other purchase , do your homework , seek a station that will provide you most of your wants , and from there , you should be able to then negotiate to the satisfaction of all stakeholders , the bits that are missing .. Often , we make the error to be lead by price , and not have a understanding of who we are dealing with - then , when it turns pear shape , as is sometimes , the case , price, is very easily forgotton and we only recall the terrible experience . I always say , start with a relationship , and price should then develop from there , as do the other boxes to be ticked .........I dont know how long it took others - but it took me forever to commit to a dealer - having spend many a weekends with countless dealers .......it seemed the more time spend , the greater the disappointment .

Here I am almost at the steps of the darkest day of my driving life , whilst waiting for cab last night on return my a bleak night at the footy , a ray of sunshine cross my path - a yellow GT cab. Wahooooooo. Why would they want to have a GT cab??? , beats me, but I don't care . At least I now know during my penalty period , I can get my GT fix ... Hahahah:-)

Agree.....Congratulations ... The winter white is and will always remain a favorite ... The new black ... It's shame we can't teach these 'lesser' dealers a lesson in empathy , customer service and satisfaction . They should be taught a hard lesson , until they understand the real value of treating their customers with the respect that they would in turn expect themselves. It is ashame when something like this happens , which shouldn't have, that we are to made feel bad and insecure about having to address the matter - a matter that shouldn't have happened in the first place.. I always said this , in specific and specialized brands , the dealership need passion and compassionate people who care for the product and hence the customer ... Instead they 've people who don't give a cotton either about the brand or customer - just their back pocket. I would put the dealer on notice , and ask the factory sticker kit from factory be fitted and supplied- period!!!! $60k + and this is how they treat you. Shame , shame dealer ..

Spoke with a dealer today, whom stated that they ve been given a limited no, based on earlier sales of GT , and at this stage they 've been sold prior to expected delivery Sept ... He understood that they 're based on the RSpec , with 5 available colours and are expected to be asking more than the RSpec ... It is sad that Ford didn't spend the additional money on the drive train (shaft, diff) and water intercooler and roll out the RSpec with the 430kw as developed ..

This morning press stated Ford are definitely proceeding with the last Ford GT , with 500 special badged GT's with power ramped up at 351kw .. Expected to cost around $90k .. Following the release of the special badged 500 GT , Ford will then continue with the supercharged XR8 335 until their closure 2016

Agree cams made the old carb eights sound impressive at idle , but were a absolute pig sitter at the lights and boy did it love to drink ... We all want the boost of the F6 or 335 GT , however both cars , mostly the F6 , lack exhaust note... What I would love , is to retain the characteristics of either F6 or 335 GT , but the bark of the V12 Aston Martin .. The sound from idle is to die for....

I hear ya...... I spend a lot of time discussing my case with people in the know and trust ... They all agree , there is a lot of merit in presenting yourself well . However, all have said , that if you're able to represent yourself well and are confident and polite and make a real effort to explain your situation - the magistrate will listen - however , if represented , very often the magistrate will just stare at the ceiling , knowing it is all lip service . At the end, the magistrate is bound by precedence , and is guided as what is the minimum penalty . The magistrate does however have the flexibility to fine you what is deemed appropriate and under the given circumstances has the discretion to apply a heavy penalty. So my thoughts are to flock up, deliver a cause and effect , confirm that the said vehicle is no longer in my possession or process of , and then fingers crossed I just get the minimum penalty and fine .. Clearly matters of speeding are seen in a different light from that of yester year ... I pray to the big man upstairs , that the magistrate doesn't have to sit through a string of speeders before me , or worse a speeder whom was drunk and cause personal injury to a innocent third party
