There's at least 3 of us on here who did exactly this with the latest model commonwhores. Myself, @JETURBO and @arronm all looked at the FG-X and each went for a VF instead. Admittedly, ours were VF-1, not the series 2's, but still. I had a FG XR6-T and then went to a FG2 GT...then to a VF SS-V-Redline and the Redline was head and shoulders above my Fords. The Ford motors were so much better, don't get me wrong...but the VF was just so much better from a day to day driving experience. My Redline outhandled my XR6-T (which had Tein coilovers fitted and my GT (which had Shockworks coilovers fitted) by a long margin. My VF felt so much newer and more refined. No diff bush issues, no wheel tramp issues, no gearbox noises. I remember driving a manual VF and not being overly impressed, but then I drove a VF-Redline with a Walky pack on it with an Auto gearbox and that was really what sold me. The auto model transformed the feel of the car, very smooth, quiet and refined. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the Miami motor in my GT, that thing was fantastic, as was the Barra in my 6-T...but of all my cars I miss my VF the most. I regularly catch myself wishing I still had it, but rarely get the same feelings when thinking about my Fords. And this is coming from someone who's been a Ford guy his whole life. And before anyone else says it, I now own a Honda coz I wanted to buy a house, so sold off all my toys to get the savings up for that.3 points

Hey Guys, Long time no update. Most of my original plans in the previous page are not relevant anymore. It started off with me dropping the car of to Sinco customs here in NZ, Where it sat for around 4months before any work commenced. In that time I had been toying with different ideas and plans. I originally intended to "Max" out the factory 3582 but I decided against that and opted for a HRC52 Holset built by a local turbo guru, He has his own line of Holset turbos with awesome results couple of guys running the same turbo on a 2jz and RB30 both making over 1000hp, After I purchased that it was decided a Top mount manifold would be built to suit the Holset with strict instructions from the Turbo builder (T5 Inlet, twin scroll) with a 60mm Turbosmart wastegate for boost control, Also have purchased a Turbosmart E-boost 2 to help out as well. Next up was an exhaust I decided a 3.5" wasn't going to cut it so decided to go with a 4inch from the turbo back, with 2 Adrenalin R mufflers, With no cats, V band everything. Also has a cheeky screamer too! Around this time also a Mod on this forum informed me CMS in sydney had a full T56 Manual conversion for sale from a Typhoon with only 56000km, Convinced Joe to sell it to me and within a month it was in my garage. Manual conversion was 3200 shipping was around 600 and then I got stung by Taxes and customs bullsh*t to the tune of 1200NZD! All up was around 5k NZD landed. Brought this to replace my current 5spd, Decided to buy a full conversion so I could re sell the conversion with my 5spd. that's where I am up to at the moment, I have recently ordered a Plaza race series plenum, to the tune of $2.5k NZD! The car will have the cold side done at sinco consisting or a Turbosmart FPR & Race series BOV. Then I will bring the car back home, let my bank account recover and then the Engine build will commence. I have tried not half arse anything so far and don't plan too, This is the only High mounted barra in NZ I am aware off. I have gone about it in a round about way you could say with doing all the bolt on stuff first rather than the engine but I had no idea I would end up taking the car to this level. Also thanks to /profile/15792-jeturbo/" rel="">@JETURBO & /profile/7403-ralph-wiggum/" rel="">@Ralph Wiggum For the helpful advice and offers of help. Will keep this post updated when new parts arrive and progress happens, Cheers! Engine bay pics, car also has a 1000hp plaz cooler2 points

So I made 350rwkw a few years ago. Safe to say I have been a little busy lately... A friend of mine offered to sell me his xr6t with a built motor and zf gearbox done by monster torque at an amazing price. So me and 2 of my best mates hired 2 hoists and swapped the motors and gear box's. Both motors and box's dropped and swapped in about 12-13 hours! Solid day and they both fired up straight away! The legend him self @IH8TOADS retuned my car. Previous tuner.... Lets not go there, Still dirty after the wiring of the fuel pump Mods: Process west stage 2 cooler with throttle body relocation Plazmaman 4" intake Full stainless xforce exhaust, 4" dump 5" cat and twin 2.5" catback ID1000's Process west surge tank with Pierburg pump Ported internal waste gate with 12psi actuator on stock 35/40 Motor: Atomic rods Mahle pistons ARP head studs Billet oil pump gears Crow valve springs The result so far... So when I replaced the 044 with the pierburg I just used the existing wiring. Turns out it didn't have its own power source so it wasn't running at 100% Toads recons we can get more so we shall haha But for now it feels incredible! Took it to the drags and had an ok night. They just scrapped the 60 foot that day so it wasn't as good as I hoped off the line but here's some pictures of the night. Missus does mint pictures! So we feel its still got more to give but will take time and practice. Next on the list is suspension for power cruise. Should also help me at the drags if its set up properly and start saving for a bigger turbo haha. Massive thanks to Toads for the constant help and the inspiring dick punch videos hahaha Also there's a few WA boys here who have helped a lot along the way. Luke (ralph) Aidan, Mark, Steve, Toccie. Much love. Here's some more pics of along the way. Because my level of impatience is quiet, Quiet high I ended up replacing my flex plate in my garage on the floor haha1 point

What a friggin awesome day Was pretty full-on - about 10 mins per hour not in class or driving - no other real breaks. Instructor was fantastic - ended up with the guy taking the class - he doesn't usually drive. Was all about corner speed - didn't use the brakes for 90% of the day (when the instructor was in the car) Learnt heaps/gained heaps of experience. Corner 4 had always been messy for me previously, now it's fun - same with 2 and 10. Will be doing the next stage with them (it's not til Nov. :( ) but will be looking for drives at Sandown in the meantime.1 point

So I've got a ba xr6 and will be putting an fg f6 engine be in it at some point, question is what do I have to do to make it saftely handle about 550rwkw, only looking to get about 450 out of it but great to know when I get bored of the power (keep getting told I wil ahahah) that I can put it up with only a tune. I've built the rear end minus drive shafts so that's all good. Has a t56 so what am I going to have to do to that? Heard input shaft and stronger syncros but rang malwood and he said there is no stronger syncros. Tail shaft - box and tail shaft came out of a bf xr6t engine mods - valve springs, oil pump. Injectors, fuel pump - injectors - Intercooler - looking at stage 3 process west. air intake - (got an f6 intake on ATM, lower snorkel with k&n filter) would a growler do the job? And for anything else I'm missing just throw it in there. Have already built the rear end, true track ims diff had and redone all buses in super pro, will attach photo cause it looks amazing1 point

Cheers bro, Yea its huge ay! Turbo builder wanted manifold to slightly smaller runners compared to what you would usually use, due to the way the Holset makes boost and I assume to help counter some of the lag.1 point

The exhaust & manifold looks awesome That's a massive inlet... hopefully it doesn't make it too laggy.1 point

Because Its still annoying me with its missfire and fuel usage Edit took it to the MCM meet in sydney the other week1 point

The Blackvue unit I have (or a similar or updated one) comes up on Massdrop fairly often - not sure how much it's discounted. I've bought some other stuff from them using the Korean manufacturers website and it worked out cheaper that the Aussie one (I think - either that or the Aussie one didn't stock what I was after) I bought my original unit off eBay - was $515. That included the kit to hardwire it into the car with the battery saver cutoff. Maybe a group buy from one of the other suppliers rather then the official Australian store could get better results? Am extremely happy with my unit - set and forget then put the SD card into the computer and get great footage and info from the companion app. It's pretty much to the point where I don't bother using the GoPro anymore unless I need an outside cam. The footage of my trackdays (and Gary's kangaroo incident - am sure he'll elaborate....) is more than good enough. At home, with the unit connected to the wifi, I get notifications if the car detects movement while parked - can view the cams from bed and even yell out over the inbuilt speaker to anyone nearby. The 256gb SD card I use was more than enough for the full Adelaide cruise and usually keeps weeks of footage at a time for me (usually short trips). The rear cam is more than useable (again - ask Gary about the roo) and I've also got an IR cam I can swap the rear one for to keep focused on the passengers in the car day or night. I do keep the speed and GPS on - I figure I'll be more likely to be able to use the data to prove any innocence on my part than I would be to have it used against me in any way. A quick hold of the button formats the card in the unit There's also a kit with a rear camera suitable for external mounting (rear of utes etc) All that said - I haven't looked at what's in the market these days.1 point
