I'm still yet to see a car that doesn't make better midrange power after a set of valve springs has been fitted.

  • Why? probably a lot dearer than something aftermarket that will do the job better in a boosted car

  • that's where im going Id rather not pay all the labor to get them done when I can do them myself. The boss is on my case about "wasting money on that farkin car"

12 months of 300rwkw, starte to go not long after tuned to 360/16psi, replaced them not long ago. They weren't showing symptoms that I could see, did them for piece of mind and so I can push more boost eventually.

Its not just factory springs that go soft, I had some aftermarket springs go soft after about 20,000k's.

I put xr8 valve springs in my BA because I scored them through work. According to the workshop manual they are 1/3 stronger than stock. Trying to figure out if they are the same springs used in

BFs but the part number for BF springs seams to be unnobtainable
