  1. im just waiting for a reply from taipan motorsports. he just said they will 'not' work and theres testing going on up here atm with some new cdi coils and if they go alright I will get some of those. but if the standard coils will work ill stick with those...I would think the amount of voltage the cdi puts out would be too much for the standard coils..?
  2. well dropped the 85mm plazmaman billet t/b off yesterday, now they are going to have to cut the plenum and modify it for the bigger t/b..hopefully should see some tuning happening in the next week or 2. its getting close now, all the gauges are in, wiring done, fuel system done. just got to tidy up all the loose ends..I think the coils will be a problem. apparently I cant use the weapon x coils with cdi, can anyone explain this? so I may have a new set of coils up for sale soon..what coils can you use with cdi?
  3. ok thanks mate, I have decided on a plazmaman t/b 85mm. they are making a custom one with the right flange, and the piping will need to be tapered up, and the plenum ported..so its a bit more last minute work, but will be much better than the old au peice of crap..
  4. bps STILL has the car, had to leave it there when my wiring harness was torn apart, be hard to pick up where my wiring was left off...but its all back in now. hopefully will be tuned next week but just got to sort this throttlebody out
  5. hey mate, ive got another question for your wisdom haha...they have replaced the throttlebody with an au xr8 throttle, is there a good billet replacement the same size that's available? whats the size of the standard? they said the au one is 2mm smaller in diameter which is no good...
  6. well theres a small problem...been down (again) cracked the sh*ts, now it has somebody on the car until its finished so hopefully only another week or so...the problem is the throttlebody, they had to replace it to put a cable throttle in. they have got an old crusty au xr8 throttlebody. wasnt real happy with it and im wondering if anyone can tell me if theres a good cable billet throttlebody I can get for it...im not spending all this money to have a coroded peice of crap on there that's 2mm smaller in diameter...whats the exact diameter of the standard one too btw I forgot to ask?? sent a few emails around but any help would be appreciated. cheers
  7. wasnt your 138mph run on street tyres brian?
  8. I have a t400 in mine, was in when I bought it. built for 2000hp. does about 3500rpm at 100kmh, I think its still got the standard diff ratio in it, ill find out when we take it apart...what ratio do you have to expect 140mph?
  9. maybe stage it for less boost off the line, or an aftermarket ecu with antilag but anyways was good seein ya have a crack, backseat driving is too easy:P, sorry didnt catch up, you looked a bit busy, maybe next time...did the stealth xr get a proper run in? had a chat to 6boost though...when you get the nine inch let me know, order two;) also what power were you running tonight?
  10. just had a quick look at gtech site and it says for the 9.29@153 run it made 572kw atw (gt45 turbo, microtech computer, 100mm throttle body)..with that power must be a wicked setup..
  11. whats that about~700kw atw..must be an animal to lift the front wheels off the ground in a full weight car...and is that a water to air cooler! I guess theres alot of secrets about this car..
  12. yeah I think with the plate 100k for sure, without, prob half that. still tear into it though:P
  13. just wondering how it handles, they are drag shocks meant for straight line only, im getting them for my car but will change them back to standard when on the street..apparently can even be dangerous when cornering but ive never tested that myself..
  14. do you have the 90/10 shocks in it for the street?
  15. went down today and he tells me it will be ready for this day, but wont have any of my suspension/ rear end bits or slicks as there wont be enough time to get that stuff put in (if it does get done in time) but fingers crossed I can make it for a go on the street tyres
  16. hopefully with a bit of luck I can make it out there for a run on street tyres..
  17. yeah I have heard a few things here and there but they are still up the top 5 that article says. just shows you cant stop globalisation even if it does kill an aussie icon.
  18. whens that going to be ill try and give them a date
  19. Australian-made Falcon could go
  20. have to def get out to the drags in a few weeks (hopefully)
  21. ah well it was a timebomb running that power with stock hardware anyway hey, cant wait to see the new bits!
  22. yeah I know man, just trying to sort out other things in the meantime. if its not running by next thurs might just send it back to brians for a cage or something while they are sitting there swinging my harness around like that baby on freddy got fingered haha
  23. where there is a wil there is a way:P
  24. thanks for that ill definately bring these points up with him, but I really do trust him as a tuner, the cdi unit is brand new, so hopefully the newest model, I will check this also. the autronic I bought 2nd hand but it was sent away to have the software upgraded to the latest version...the weapon x coils are supposed to be an upgraded, plug and play replacement for standard coils (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XR6-Turbo-F6-High-Performance-Weapon-X-Ignition-Coils_W0QQitemZ250557663754QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Car_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a56668a0a) cheers for the info, im going to do a bit of reading now as this theory on electronics is a very grey area for me!
