  1. I have a turbo 400 in mine built to hold 500 plus, but yeh im going to get the overdrive fitted because its really jumpy at 100, which is very dangerous, especially if caught in the wet. the thing DRINKS oil aswell with the 3500 converter
  2. the reliability of jap fwd cars cant be matched. my opinion is that the ae92 corolla and camry are UNKILLABLE. who wants to have a daily driver like and xr6 or anything similar when they just f*ck up all the time. its inevitable. ive had my sh*tbox rolla for 3 years and have done NOTHING but fill the oil up (never even put a drop of water in it). still goes like new. (doesnt look or smell like it though). macho this or whatever, small displacement fwd cars will take over. the animals are for the weekend.
  3. I just switched bought a stage 3 process west cooler, simply because its the biggest. should see a rapid cooler + piping up for sale soon!
  4. yeh awesome I just sent him an email too. they look good, have done a few cars. cheers!
  5. im just wanting to hear some opinions on different shops (or ones I could go to) on brisbane southside. ive got a pretty heavily modified xr6 with a turbo 400 box in it, and just got a whole bunch of new parts, and I dont want any amateur shop destroying it...any sugestions would be appreciated..
  6. I found a picture of one, got to say the best loking plenum out there. http://www.bseries.com.au/cgi-bin/index.cg...=item&I=169
  7. yep, that's the one! anything you can tell me about it??
  8. I just bought a relatively high performance xr, built by cv. due to my ignorance, the oil was a bit low, and ive driven it probably 1000km (sydney to brisbane) with low oil, and the light came on and off a few times before I noticed and checked and found it was pretty dry. ive topped it up and it took about 2.5-3L to read full on the dipstick, so it would still have had 4-5 litres in it still.... what are peoples opinions of if ive done any damage, and how I would tell, and more importantly what I should do from here....I would be gutted if I caused the car any damage...its on a very mild tune and 12 pound. its pushing through a turbo 400 gearbox if that makes any difference...
  9. only been at 12 pound since I bought it....lucky I dont know how to use the eboost...
  10. ahhhhhh! I bought the car from sydney and drove it back. it was TWEAKN. he told me the oil was fresh. so give it 1000km. he said it doesnt burn much oil, apart from the trans, so I didnt even think twice about it. I havent given the car much of a hard time, but it seems fine, but I guess you wouldnt know until something bad happens...so whats the advice atm, I need to strip the engine down...!! it took about 3 litres of oil, and these engines hold 7 or something dont they?
  11. ive had a bit of a read and im a bit confused. I just noticed the light was on and the oil was almost off the stick. I just grabbed the most expensive sh*t at the servo that I could find. that was castrol edge 5w-30. the engine was fully built by cv, atomic cams, internals etc, is this oil ok to leave in there or should I get it changed? I dont want to cause the engine any damage, and I usually give it a hard time.
  12. ill give it a go next time I get it out of storage. cheers
  13. I have one of these and I HATE it. wondering if you take the trumpets of it just dumps the air softer and quicker without causing too much of a fuss..or do you have to plumb it back to get rid of most of the noise? I dont want ot remove it altogether, baddd for the turbo at big boost right//
  14. cheers for respons, so what is the minimum wheel diameter that can be fitted to a ba mk2 rear, with rolled guards, fitting a 10 inch tyre? basically I want a good hook up, what is the most acceptable wheel and slick tyre choice for a bolt on with not-too-serious guard rolling work....? thanks again in advance
  15. im wondering if anyone has thought about putting some 15/10" rims on the back with some 10 inch slicks or semi slicks...would these fit under the back no problems with rolled guards?
