  1. well I just seem to keep hearing the next week line, im starting the think ill NEVER get this car back haha. its destined to sit on someones hoist in the corner of a workshop FOREVER
  2. the problem is people keep putting their faith in the next f*ckwit that puts their hands up for election...the people that run this country and any 'DEMOCRACY' for that matter are faceless. they have no knowledge of what it really takes to run a FREE world, just how to convince you they do. next time theres an election draw a bunch of smily faces over the ballot paper and accept your vote doesnt do sh*t in the big picture but perpetuate ignorance!! lube up shes not getting any better from here
  3. he mustve played gran tourismo for 3 weeks straight or something
  4. far out almost keen to sell up and stop beating around the bush! what fuel??
  5. haha yeah man I look back foolishly in hind sight now...he really had no idea...and if I didnt take my car out of there, it would be there well into next year for sure! well kent said around 8 hours to redo the harness and 750 for a new standard harness that I got james to pay for when I cracked it at him... YEAH 2 months....and in zoom mag theres an autronic ad..'send in your wiring loom and well send it back in 7 days ready to plug in for $550'!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention and piggy back setup is only half the work...feel like a fool, but hey that's life. should have some results in the next day or 3 anyways!
  6. nah mate I was speaking about setting up a fuel system like tom nelson uses on his engines (with the electromotive ecu)...say for example on these cars run two separate fuel systems, one with pump fuel, one with race fuel. the engine runs on pump up until turbo boost hits 10psi then closes the injectors in the pump system and switches to race gas, then once you finish nailing it it drops back to pump fuel...ultimate setup for a monster street car I think. give this a watch, he explains it at about 2:40
  7. haha so am I, ill tell you that...howd the rapid braided kit come up john? im going to wait till I get mine back to put mine on. should tidy things up a bit! hows your beast going?
  8. whens yours getting done? did you ask about mine? be mad if we both get them back together
  9. sounds good man..nah no fpv bar couldnt give a sh*t what the car looked like haha. let me know how the wiring looks..been through a butchery
  10. yeah ah well different times I suppose...that's all it is. well ive officially been given the 'dyno early next week' so im excited, especially considering hes been spot on with everything else hes promised me. hopefully this rain buggers off!!!
  11. same here..did you get the turbosmart 2000hp reg? wouldnt be a substancial difference at high flow rates, but there is in theory, what injectors are you using??
  12. would this fuel act like raw alcohol and push past the rings into the oil? alcohol drag cars need to change oil fairly regularly due to the alcohol mixing with it and turning it milky right?
  13. all good spiro, I try and approach building cars like my uncle but its hard for several reasons...I like him think everything is turning into barry bolt on these days..I try and have asmuch input as I can (do my research as to what parts I personally prefer, and what parts will give me the physical and mental satisfaction im looking for blah blah) but it is very hard to 'BUILD' a car like these without a full workshop, a dyno, the skill that comes from working in a tune shop required to build the experience to tune a car/learn the software/not blow sh*t up etc...I would like to wire the car myself and pull things apart and really BUILD the car, but its pretty impractical to attempt this from a clean sheet of paper...there really is no way 99% of us can comprehend the techniques involved and therefore the final results as a product of R AND D that come from people like brad at atomic and nizpro.. hats off to these people that make the masterpeices of engineering we use to play tetris with these cars.. im sure alot of people wouldnt even appreciate or understand the skill and physics that goes into making a tuned length steam pipe manifold or a cnc machined plenum.. my uncle BUILT his hotrod, and most of his harley for that matter. he fabricated basically everything on his car, therefore he can call it HIS..but hes also the first to admit its not his anymore (drivetrain wise), its tom nelsons:P just like me, this car isnt mine its hi-torques car now, funded by me, but I havent dirted one finger in its 'build'. I do however do not see how someone can get any enjoyment out of giving a shop a car and not know whats going on under the skin, and simply say I want xxx power do what needs to be done... head sex you ask 'How come you went down the path of aftermarket ECU'... the reason is im not looking for a result that I already know the answer, sure most of the stuff on there is tried and proven, but I hope my idea works for me. I do think once its set up it will be good..guess I get a kick out of doing something new and learning from my mistakes rather than someone elses. im going to do some reading into dual fuel setup like nelsons...running pump fuel to say 10psi and then race fuel from a different fuel system for when I nail it.. I guess I just want a radical street car like all of us haha
  14. cheers for that, well its a known fact when you push the envelope and try new things, you run into problems..im glad if nothing else im learning about these cars and adding to the experience pool that I and everyone else here has benefitted from aswell.... karl-that's the latest problem, they CANT take over from where james left off, because james made a standalone harness for the autronic (3-4 months worth), and planned to just plug the air con in etc...but the whole interior command centre wont work without the CAN (some safety system), fully wired in with the standard ecu..so basically the whole time its been at bps has been a waste of time and a learning curve (not to mention waste of money)..hi-torque will be starting FRESH with a new standard wiring loom (pulling all of james wiring out), and installing the autronic as a 'piggy back' so the standard ecu still thinks its in control of the car... im very confident its in good hands now. for example when I went to drop all my suspension and bushes down and axles and diff, the rear cradle had been dropped out and was in peices waiting FOR ME TO ARRIVE!!! not use me bringing the parts down as a reason to put the car off as ive been used to.. trav-giving there are no problems hopefully should be going next week sometime, but in hindsight, id be shooting myself in the foot getting excited about deadlines.. I have just been further demoralised after seeing my uncles car, a 33 hotrod with a nelson racing engine (waiting on a few parts) in it (cnc ported brodix heads, custom plenum with built in water to air intercooler, SYMETRICAL billet twin turbos, quad fuel rails using pump fuel until boost then race fuel), hoping for a conservative street tune of around 1500hp at the tyres.. maybe I need to sell up and stop beating around the bush
  15. well you can run stand alone but the interior command centre (that controls the dash, central locking, stereo, air cond and ignition) will not work, so unless your building a race car with custom gauge dash and dont need to lock your car dont try it :argue:
  16. think im going to blow my top soon...so I find out YOU CANT RUN STAND ALONE ECU with this car....everything bps did was a waste of time. SOOO back in with the standard ecu and standard wiring harness, from here the aurtonic/cdi will be spliced in and HOPEFULLY works..now costing me more money and time, what a f*ck around!!!!! :argue:
  17. good on ya man wicked effort. cant beleive standard head and camshafts making that power at 35psi!
  18. easy fix with some rapid braided heater hose lines
  19. how long now spiro? patience is becoming a virtue I am starting to run out of
  20. I think your about 40 years too late to take a stand all weve got is slingshots now:P
  21. might be chop ya? that's a manual yeah?
  22. ah well be nice to see where the old falcooons at after another 10 years of development
  23. yeah it is really amazing how good some panel beaters are...if it can be broken it can be fixed. that hasnt even touched your rear quarter id say $2-3k max to fix that (unless your rails are bent at the back) but still very fixable
  24. ive had 2 big hits in my car, had both rear quarters replaced, and a sill, and a few irs bits... still fine. aslong as your rails arent bent a good panel shop can fix it so you cant even tell...if the rails are bent I wouldnt bother fixing it for myself
  25. just having a crack! im going to be very careful until I get to the skidpan..and I never set out to make outright power, ive tried from all my own reading etc to try and set the car up properly...I will be getting a race tune done with staged boost etc, have the suspension done (have got 90/10 shocks and konis for the rear, cheers pat). tried to do all the rear end right etc. hope it works out! but not expecting a 9 first time out or anything like that
