That's a lot of work and fab involved. Loved the engine bay work and rear end too. So much effort involved.

I reckon to run the 9 they got a gun driver. 

 

Maybe sorted that car can run 8s

Benny (the guy with the red beard) drove the 9.9 run. 

 

Keep in mind it only wieghs 1330kg.

Yeah I thought with how much effort and custom work was done we'd instantly see a nine second and then push it right to low 9 high 8 depending on the driver. That rear end and transmission combo would be capable surely? Just turn it up to 11 etc.

Do you realise how big the gap between 9.9 and 8.9 is? 9.97 is damn impressive for a new build on only it's 4th or 5th pass

It needs another 250whp to get an 8.

 

Unlikely to happen on that turbo or a stock motor.

I just feel like they swing a few spanners and then a bunch of actual mechanics come in to finish the job. They don't hide this but at the same time I would have much preferred this to be over a few episodes rather than crammed into one video.

 

they crammed it in quite well but I feel like this is completely different to the original mighty car mods.

 

all that being said I am stoked at the results they got and I think that is a real achievement.

^^^^ Wouldn't need that much HP to reach the 8 barrier, yes its a big jump but it would come down a lot more to the setup of the car.
