I spend spent several days reading this thread. So many highs and lows throughout the build. I skim read the last 10 pages because I was excited to see the outcome and was genuinely disappointed to read page 67.

Well I spoke to Marcus on the phone about a month ago and he’s still driving it every now and then and has plans in the future to pull the engine and get it re done correctly 

I speak to Marcus on Facebook. He's a really nice, genuine guy. I hope that he gets better soon, so he can post some videos of the beast..

are pretty much the perfect storm of asking for suggestions, ideas, help and guidance from the community then ignoring every single thing that's said, not listening to educated warnings or red flares and going head first into ideas he's gotten off the internet that "sound good".

 

He's a very decent guy, great craftsman (the work he does is spot on) and fantastic bloke with/for his step son, but his whole build has been the worst fuckup and comedy of errors I've seen on the forum - full stop.

 

XR8 1-tonner => XR6T road legal 400+rwkw fun car (before he decided to take it further) -  wrong platform from the start - you're not going to have the car you want when you're limited to running thin "truck" tyres.

 

Guess what his complaint was from the day he had on the track?

His absolute ongoing annihilation of @JETURBO for taking the car back to stock before trading it in (almost calling it a crime for not disclosing that the car hadn't always been stock) - despite the whole forum wondering what the issue was (respect for both of them for working together after that outbreak) and then selling (or trying to sell) his ute without a whole bible sized book of disclaimers...

 

 

Don't get me wrong - am not trying to have a go at GHP - was cheering as loud as anyone everytime something worked, but fuck me - the guy sure did have a way of asking questions, seeing all the answers given and choosing an option the exact opposite of the majority offered.

 

 

Would love Marcus to come back to the forum and continue to be part of the community we have here - really want to see how the Kingswood is coming along - that was looking very, very decent

 

If the above ^^ sounds harsh or rough to anyone reading, I really hope GHP reads it and can comment - He's honestly the most honest bloke I've dealt with on a forum - even where his ideas don't make sense to me.
