So yeah, got through my first week of strength training fine then pulled the trans out my car. Trans tried to fall so I caught it and farked my elbow...again. I didn't train for the remainder of last week, I worked on my car instead which is still some kind of physical exercise. My elbow is bearable just sitting around doing frig all, but something is wrong and I need it to be 100% to train heavy or even light with high reps. Even benching sucks, the left side is strong af with no pain and the right side says yeah nah.

I've got an appointment with the doctor next week so hopefully I can get something sorted. Worst case I'll need some more time off that elbow movement, which I will use to get everything else big and strong. I can still deadlift, squat, curl in the squat rack, use the pec deck etc so I might be doing a lot more of that, we'll see how it goes.

Got x-ray and ultrasound today, there's a bone spur under the tendon which is causing the pain and my nerve is jumping across the joint when I extend my arm.

I've got a follow up with my GP tomorrow but it appears I'll need surgery to scrape the bone. Yay :yay:

I suppose this year will be dedicated to squats and deadlifts.

Ok saw the specialist today about the elba. He reckons an 8 to 10 week rest is needed from the weights. The last time I was training properly was the first week of feb, so I guess another 6 weeks will do to make sure. If it flares up again he said he will do surgery to fix it, so that is an option if needed. I give it a solid meh/10 :declare:

I already trained through it for 3 months last year which prompted a month break in Jan. I should have calmed my farm when it initially got injured but I gotta be a hard head. Oh well muscle memory is a thing so it wont take long to get back and I'm more than big and strong enough to have time off without turning into a toothpick. I already lost an inch off the arms but it's all good.

speaking of the topic of this thread; my "home" gym (the main one where I attend which is where my Anytime Fitness membership is based/charged/emailed form) has been closed for ~3 weeks for renovations/upgrades and it's open again today! can't wait to see what they've done with the place :)
