  1. I liketo dire my dirt bike, but somehow I dont think I can get paid for that Im open to ideas as I dont want to limit myself to what I already know. Besides work is work, not play so im not fussed their either. im aware that when you do things that you enjoy every day that it can take the fun out of them later. im stuck just north of melbourne ( 1 hr approx drive to cbd ) due to ex and two kids , so unfortunatley I cannot relocate.
  2. Thought I might throw an idea out to you guys. My current arrangement will soon be coming to a close, which leaves me in the position of looking around for various forms of self employment. Anyone got any ideas on things I could look at? Have been browsing the franchises and so far, im not impressed.
  3. E.B. games = electronics botique, just so you dont go trying to look up the place thinking they are different http://www.ebgames.com.au/home/home.cfm
  4. Cheers blonk. I lack the vocabulary to explain it like that.
  5. yes the manufacturors rate their products at a % loss, but that's at a certian input. With increasing input levels, the power to turn would go up as a result of friction and such, but it should show a lower overall % loss. think about it, the % cannot stay the same because the inertia, mass and etc cannot change with more power, only friction and heat. so while the more power input, the more it will consume, its plain wrong to use a rule of thimb to rate anything at a %. we dont accept this for dynos, why should this be acceptable for anything else?
  6. I have been pulled over numerous times for numerous things, latley though, I have found that the cops are pretty backed off. Not sure why. Did a WOT run out of a corner to 75 klm ( 80 klm limit) and engages cruise. Told my mate that odds on the cop on the corner would follow at speed to stop me. he did, and didnt seem to know how to talk to me (not like im intimidating in the slightest). I had exited my car and waited for him at the rear of it ( they dont like you approaching their vehicle unles sthey tell you to) said he was checking me cause I accelerated hard. I just stated I didnt speed or wheelspin.. he left it at that and I was on my way.. Fair chance I just probably dont look like the type of person they are targeting.
  7. Electronics Botique is good for pre-owned games.
  8. The only other things I can add are: The excsessive amount of time you will loose with this device and the arguments over who plays wat ( dad vs jnr ) My boys love it ( 5 &3 ) . they love my involvement too so surprisingly, its a family activity. Have Fun
  9. Sdwayz, Have you seen any lightweight rims like these in jap wreckers in melb? if so where cause that's the path I want to take with mine. Plus it makes them look more racey. Cheers

I've had a voice ask me if im alright, but I was locked in my house, alone. turns out , about that time, our neighbours dad passed on. funny as he never really talked to me. I ALWAYS feel like I have somone with me, usualy its a vauge feelign but when im driving, I REALLY feel it. for example, when my first son was born, I was DEAD tired, and for the last hour, it felt like somone was holding me up under the arms. once he was born and I went to sit down, its like I was genlty put down... A few weeks ago I was out on the dirty bike, and split with the group to check a trail and ,meet them at the junction ahead. I had a light smell of VB beer in my nose. only faint, but it didnt fade as I picked up speed. no way it was dumped beer on the track I was on !! could hardly get the bike up it and its not commonly used and goes nowhere. Funny as I was VERY close to my grandfather, and when he passed away, I finaly got to sleep, ( he was battling cancer badly in his last week) I just knew he was gone. His brand of beer is VB. Several times I shold have been killed since he has gone and several times things have been averted ever so closley... and the latest. was riding the dirty bike at yaragon the weekend just gone, and kept seeing colourful flashes out of the corner of my eyes, except there was nothing/noone there. the tracks are thru ultra steep hils and there was no way we were near anyware near a place where any other bikes could be.
  11. not so much that it cant handle different fuels, jsut there is simething in the shell stuff that doesnt help cats. the old VL-T ran straight lpg and didnt hurt the cat.
  12. Dont generaly see much congestion between major cities. Who gets freight to the rail? That would be trucks. Where is the majority of this freight generated? The cities. Where are the population centres? The cities. Where are the areas of congestion? The cities. There has not been enough foresight in the planning of the roads infrastructure in ANY City. There has not been anywhere near enough PRO-ACTIVITY on upgrading the existing infrastructre. It would seem that every gov't wants to pass it on to a later govt so they can be blamed for any short comings and so on. As an owner - driver , I am unfortunatley in the position of seeing first hand, how anything moves within australia. Coincidentaly EVERYTHING sees the back of a truck at some point ( be it in component form or finished product.) and many things have multiple trips. The rail network is already heavily subsidised. it has its place, but it shold be to compliment road transport, not replace it. To get optimum benifits EVERY city should have two major transport areas within which, large vehicles are dealt with once the come in from interstate, and distribution should be for the majority of the part made on smaller vehicles. Road transport is a shambles at present. Being the backbone of freight, the industry needs govt. attention. as much as I hate to say it, look to the US for an efficent system. They have it sorted out and look, the solid backbone allows the contry to prosper. I could go on for hours, but the govt is slowly starting to do the right things BUT none of them have the balls to do what needs to be done, jsut what will get them re-elected ..
  13. My exhaust guy only asked one question when I asked his opinion on cats. It was " what fuel do you run?" he has seen MANY cats fail when running the fuel I like to call "optisoot". This fancy change of name to v-power, doesnt mean squat imho. I still believe its a cat killer. The only brand "S" fuel I use is LPG. I've had dramas with the other fuels from that company in various cars. I believe there is no sence in risking the XR to it.
  14. damn that's gonna be a bugger to fix!.
  15. Hard to go wrong with the yamaha reliability. If that's the path you choose, get a workshop manual and follow the recomended service guidelines and volia, reliable beasty. My old 400 went hard from day one, and is still going hard now ( mate bought it ). Use quality oil, do the filter every oil change, and clean/oil the airfilter EVERY ride. enjoy, they have heaps o mumbo.
  16. there was some treatment tiraled in performance fords mag about a year ago? called X1-R ? Tried it in my old 351 clev, and it quietened the old girl down a bit. if the engine wasnt on deaths door im sure it would have helped. a mate ran it in his old 351 and was noted as showing an improvement, just cannot remember how much.
  17. Due to the way their beliefs lie, im sure the deaths woiuld be moourned, but not overly so, as the person has moved into the arms of ALLAH.. which they see as a better place. that's why they have so many bodies for suicide runs.
  18. even though I cant read what looks like german, it seems that th 196kph is an average speed. very good if that's it!
  19. BAH, Just get a GG or a sherco and enjoy I say. I love my GG450. anyone could ride it, turn the wick up and it goes. I tested KTMs ,TMs, Yammies etc. all had very harsh points for an AVERAGE rider like myself. the GG is so forgiving. I hit a Tree Root with my left hand barkbuster ( uprooted Tree ) this threw BOTH my hands off the bars on a 2nd gear wfo singletrack. because its steering is stable, it hit the rut and fell in. no crash executed. Have done similar on my old Yammie WR400... went arse up in a big way. KTM's are good for riders who can PUSH them for an average gumbie, you needa very un-intimidating and forgiving bike.. my pick for a beginer would be New, GG450, Sherco 4.5i S/H DRZ 400, XR 400 KLX 400( basicaly a drz anyway).
  20. http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm Break it in HARD. Just done my bike like this, and it feels strong. stronger than the demo I rode..
  21. To the person that thinks that you can own a 10/9 sec vl_t for $15K, who does your work? The short would cost at least $7000. Turbo $ 2500-3500 Wastegate $ 750 Exhaust manifold $ 1000 Auto $4000 Stall $1000-1500 ECU $ whatever an autronic or motec is worth. ETC I've just stepped out a of a VL-T to the XR and they both cost simlar amounts to modify up. Just the xr has a better start point. HP Costs money, How fast can you afford to go
  22. CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to miss it .. morons. And to think, that with this quality programming, people still as k me why I dont watch tv............
  23. In my opinion, if you wanta yamie, get the best condition WR450 you can for the money. nothing beats the electricl leg when trying to kick the bitch over! I just sold my WR400 and stepped up to a GasGas 450. mmm efi and eleccy leg!.. if you do get a WR dont just get on it and go WFO!, be gentle until your used to it, cause if they arent jetted right they have a laggy type power delivery
  24. that's one of the getaway in stockholmes. I think no 2. Its a porsche. the full movie shows a few police action segments ..
  25. The way an ecu is tuned , is that there is a base map, and it has correction factors. Load ( boost/vac ), rpm, and so on. so if you have a good tuner who doesnt just tweak for max hp, he should also adjust the other settings, giving you a better overall tune. so what fat-tony was trying to say, is that if you keep the car off boost and dont go WOT everywhere, you wont be using the power section of your tune and should thus nett better economy.
