3 Falcons for me FG Ute XH ( old faithful is in storage- future project??) Falcon Boat ( Thunderbird Falcon 2000BR.- it's a 20ft bow rider made by Thunderbird ( in 93, but Company changed name to Formula mid 90's). And is a current refurb. project.

I went from a Falcon ute (12 years, now stored) to a new Navara stx DC diesel :( I wanted to love that car, but hated it. Such an ordinary ownership experience. Sold it 15 months old. I 'downgraded' to a 2 1/2 year old T ute. 3 years later, it's still under warranty, with a couple of issues dealt with. AND it's been an absolutely enjoyable car. I love my ute! Knowledge from this forum and stocking up on a few spares means I'll be able to keep it forever. Some journalists have called them the Tradesman's Ferrari. Maybe you should have tried your luck on another Falcon ute, before going for the sensible Toyota. I hope you get a good run out of it.

Payout on a lease isn't too bad with 12 months to go. Most of the interest is paid in the first 2 years or so ( of course lease structure such as deposit/residual and duration change that sometimes). So you could put a deposit down in 4-6 months, and try and stretch out the delivery date) Latest T gets the same engine. No F6 310 (according to Carsales News)

Nice work Mate. Have you replaced the seatbelt with a Harness. I heard a Hornet pilot say that he strapped his jet onto him, as if it was a jet pack ( backpack ). HUD would be good too, wouldn't it?

What State are you in? Regardless, it still falls under the Building Code of Australia ( BCA). And distances/dimensions need to be adhered to. What is the Council Authority saying. Will they approve it and allow a Certificate of Completion. You shouldn't be made to take responsibility, from signing anything, as you are not qualified in that area. If a wall needs to be moved, it can be done. Although expensive. The roof frame and material will need to be removed ( and possibly altered before being put back in place. And Footings modified to take newly positioned walls. You need to be able to sell it ( whenever that could be), without issues. If you have financed this home, get advice from the lender's legal department. Good luck and I hope it works out for you

Sorry about the crap situation you're dealing with. 'Technology Creep' caught a Diplomat about 8-10 years ago. He and his lover drove from Sydney to Canberra, to kill the lovers husband. They denied being in Canberra, but were identified/photographed by an overhead/bridge Truck Fatigue camera system on the Hume hwy. Busted! As for prevention, I wonder if the Apple Tile would work. Tracked from your IPhone. Used for luggage, children etc: I hope you get your car back.

Not sure how busy you are, but if time is precious, make it $1k cheaper than the other advertised ( & equivalent ) vehicles. Get a quick sale, and avoid the time wasters. I really don't like selling, but getting shafted by a Car dealer is worse. Remind the buyer that they can pay for an extra 3 years warranty if they'd like ( before initial 3yr warranty expires ).

^ only suggested XR8 for towing reasons. Just passing on the thoughts of an old friend who's had both and done plenty of towing. He suggested I go the Turbo because I've got another vehicle for towing. But not really worth missing out on the Turbo experience for 1 tow every 2 months is it

I can only speak for myself here. I've never been left stranded with a Ford. I treat my cars with respect and have have done a lot of K's. Falcons as taxis speaks volumes. It seems that some of the Falcons here get an absolute thrashing, and most maintain reliability( including many modifications). I stepped over to the diesel/import side in 2010.( new Navara). I didn't like it at all, and sold after 14 months ownership.

Performance drops significantly when weight is added to my turbo ute. How much weight will you be carrying. Maybe consider an FG XR8 ute.

Interesting how this FGX ( FH ) thread has ended up. With true Falcon fans saying the Commodores are better. I was considering keeping my turbo when my lease is up, and getting a SCV8 as well. ( both utes). But maybe the better garage would be the BarraT and modding ( SC ) a Holden.

Could there be comparability issues, if you have a Mk2 camera kit? Or a fault in the unit? I had the impression that MrFPV has the ICC units all sorted ( except for an outside temp. display issue).

Maybe highly polished?? I've wondered if the Mk2 front is ideal for cooling because of the larger opening. It is larger than Mk1, FH and FPV.

I like it on the GT, more than the F6. Maybe it's the 'fatter' front end . Post up a pic of the XR6T. It's a standout colour for highway patrol! (Velvet looks nice)
