  1. the distance from the hub to guard will tell you if they are different. I did this on a vpss. used VS arms coz got em cheap. turned out they were different resulting in a different offset and the axle was a teeny bit short, still bolted up and worked. Did skids for years after..
  2. is that coz up to 2010 has to fart through a straw? (restrictor ring in the cat?)
  3. lol....317kw is pretty stout for tune only. Bloody f6's, a cooler should be next on your list though. Its the weakest link for the f6. injectors and fuel pump have seen around 330rwkw. But the f6 cooler is only marginally better than the xr6's and heat soak is still an issue.
  4. look at the fg turbo top 50, 90% zf's, zf's running 9's...if its a daily I wouldnt want to give up the 6 cogs
  5. oh it feels the pain..
  6. lol nice, they held up pretty well.....try something else...work your way up to explosives.
  7. ^^^lol yep, try braking hard from 230 and releasing as you crest a little hill at about 180.....feels like boat then a plane......sea plane...
  8. can you make a video of you crushing them with your car, then put it on you tube titled "fg falcon sick altezza tail lights" make sure the thumbnail isn't them being crushed though....so wankers who are interested in them have their soul's crushed when they watch it...nice to see your coming around charlie..
  9. "fernando races down the hill early trying to be a hero" lol love the way he gives em names, animal videos are by far his best work..fark David Attenborough
  10. so many lols
  11. cant see the latest reply but whatever keify is sayin bout the auto diff gears, spot on. Looking a full rebuild matty may aswell do twin bush hat and axles...
  12. brand new f6 long 6k. then labour your mechanic charges. Ford definitely wont help? they might be able to help with that 6k a bit? not sure what an fg service engine costs havent seen any for sale. otherwise if your going to get a motor rebuilt it should be done by one of the pros as others have mentioned if you want atleast factory reliability or better...then you start to get into things like "if im getting it rebuilt I may as well do better rods, pistons, girdle, all the best fastners, bearings, machining, pump gears ect ect" poof goes well over 10k by time its in the car running. New service engine or a low k donor that your mechanic can just change over is probably the best bet. perhaps ford will feel sorry for you and heavily discount a new long....long shot.. Also the term "lean out" means not enough fuel, which means high cylinder temps which can even lead to a hot plug/spots, thus leading to pre ignition... too lean = death basically
  13. I assume your aware the diff bush problem is worse on the manuals, and just how violently it unloads and distorts on a gear change, there is actually a really clear video floating around filmed with a go pro under the car....dont worry about the bush, you can see why the bolt snaps. I know we dont all have endless amounts of money, but man, Id be beating the hell out of it if I went manual. Used to love walking it off the line and getting to the top of first without wheel spin and then just peeling 2nd after a brutal kick whilst holding the loud pedal flat, just clutch kicks in general are fun at speed in whatever gear your car will turn them in. Your probably going to do big launches at the strip at some stage. So unless you drive like grandma that clutch and rear end is going to have a hard life...
  14. with a 10 something I hope matty....you going to do the twin bush rear as well?
  15. I love boost as well matty, Like yourself I own 2 turbo cars. I love screaming N/A v8's more but. nothing really compares to the assault on the senses a loud, high revving v8 gives you. add to that formula everything solid mounted and a noisy sequential gearbox. Heaven I still miss limiter bashing an LS and rowing through the gears. pops and snarls on decel. I <3 Bananas yeah. Slow but lol
  16. still prefer the 8000+ rpm N/A flat plane screamer. Have you heard it!?!? 0-100 sub 5 seconds and 12 second quarters. Its not slow.. I want one so bad, but this one. Not the lame version we will get..
  17. the engine you want is the one in the 350R. Which straya probably wont get coz ohmos
  18. try jets suggestion first before you get carried away, he wouldnt suggest something so simple unless he had come across something similar. Then check battery voltage with key off, key on, headlights on and finally check charging voltage with engine running. If all that fails or doesnt atleast indicate a battery or alternator problem. Then start looking for a strange gremlin.
  19. doubt the tune is the issue. can you log system voltage over a few pulls? pretty sure even forscsan has a voltage pid of some kind. Im interested to know if it takes a nose dive at the rpm your having issues
  20. that is weird....sounds like a low system voltage problem but strange it occurs at that rpm... so as a complete guess id say alternator, dodgy fuel pump wiring that's causing an issue under heavy load...or a frog balls tune? is it a custom tune or an ebay job?
  21. I know what your saying, but I guess from their perspective they cant just come up with software for every possible combo right out of the gate. Id like to think their would have to be some level of product support that involves working with people that are spending the money to pave the way for others. and its only really the newer oem engines and drivelines that need this extra work. simple engines like the mini or the vw were easy in comparison. mcm have added the ez36 and vh41 through their projects, who knows what else has been done with it, be nice if the spent some time on support for the barra, hopefully some of the big projects going at the moment see that happen. If anything the exposure through mcm has shown how flexible it is and they can make it work on anything thus far
  22. could always get a cat back for the turbo and it can donate its exhaust. kpm claims a 7-10 rwkw gain from their rather expensive street fighter cai. Sounds pretty good on the N/A as well apparently. Might nudge it over 200rwkw...
  23. yep, made a pretty healthy number at all fours, shame it ran out of pump. The haltech is an awesome bit of kit, manufacturers should just start using it...
  24. if you wanna do it cheap, std fg turbo exhaust, pacemakers I think were used on the fg im thinking of, xr8 snorkel and Custom 98 tune netted 198rwkw. fg turbo exhaust isn't a restriction until about 300rwkw so its plenty for the n/a and quiet enough for a work car. they are also cheap as chips when they pop up. custom tune by somebody who knows what they are doing and gives a fark will be key. spend your money wisely there and dont skimp, headers will be the other place not to skimp perhaps do some research on them I cant help but want to mod any car, and id probably do the same, just forget cams and stuff, costs a bomb and just doesnt see the gains per dollar. Any more than 200rwkw just get a turbo
