600+ Kw Ba Ute
Awesome looking setup... Congratulations to all involved. It looks like it comes on nice and gentle through the rev range. So the 607 rwkw was on NOS @ 28 psi? What is MaxNOS?

Intercooler
Cmon guys changing the intercooler and not changing the tune to suit is like russian roulette. You might get away with it most of the time. But then again it could cost you a motor Standard factory tune or a generic tune with such a modification can be very dangerous. Take it easy until you can get a custom tune or at least until you can check the AFRs Good luck with it !!

Huffer vs Spool
Dilousional? I love how you are so confident. Have you see any real performance figures between such similar weighted cars? It would be interesting to see a dyno sheet comparison between a 400rwkw SC V8 and a Turbo inline six ...

Obama President Thoughts ?
Interesting times ahead ! We can only hope that Obama can make a difference and help turn their economy around. If he can't get it right then things are only going to get tougher worldwide. That is one tough job...

Huffer vs Spool
With regards to the comparison in performance of a 400rwkw SC V8 vs a 400 rwkw Turbo charged inline 6 ... I would put my money on the turbo inline 6 out performing the SC V8 assuming both get traction. In my limited experience with such cars my guess is that the low down torque in the Turbo would monster the SC V8. But then again I like the idea of combining these two approaches ... Turbo Charged V8 ! Best of luck with the project.

Age Of The T Drivers..
I'm a young 40 but 20 in the brain when it comes to cars and have enjoyed the car from new for 5 years ...

2.26 60ft Time Zf Auto
I have driven both cars and I totally agree that the ZF is a far better auto than the 4sp, better gearing, stronger and hence helps the car accellerate under normal drving conditions a lot smoother. What I am pointing out is that the 60 foot times are not down to the 4sp figures yet. Whether FSIX's box was stock or not? Who cares ... That is not the point that I am making... I have run a best of 1.55 60 footer on ET Streets and there are at least a couple cars that ran in the high 1.4 sec times with the 4sp on full slicks. With respect to drag racing any gain to the 60 footer is worth about 1.5 times at the end of the quarter, hence the importance. Once the ZF computer can be edited then this will be a different story. Once a better converter can actually be used then this will even things up.

Beginner Breaks Into 11's
Sounds like you are having fun ... get that 60 footer down to a 1.7 and you should come pretty close to running a 10s pass.

Dus12 Makes It Into The 500+ Club
Well done Dave ... good job all round. Like you said, it is one thing to have the power as measured on a dyno but getting it to the ground without breaking something or loosing traction is a different story. I drove Brians car with 500+ rwkw and I can tell you that an extra 100 rwkw are useless in the ordinary standard chassis on the street. Should be interesting to see how he goes... Good Luck guys!!

Ba/bf Turbo Current Top 25+
Good work ... Seems like there are a few cars in the 10.8 - 10.99 sec bracket. I'm slipping out of the top 20...

2.26 60ft Time Zf Auto
As good as the ZF gearboxes are they still have not been able to match the 4sp launches and they seem to like breaking tailshafts. I've done a 1.78sec 60 footer and consistent 1.8s on the 19" Maxxis. It's not just about how much boost you can hold off the line or what RPM you can stall up to, it is about how well the car can pull off the line. How you stall it up, how you accelerate (right foot control) and feeling how well the car responds it the key. There is also no substitute for real raw low down torque. Practice, Practice and more Practice, instead of thinking too much about what RPM or boost you are running you need to "USE THE FORCE LUKE" ... (in Darth Vader voice) I am getting really edgy and need to get out there again.

Headsex Gets A 10
Well done Danny ... running a 10sec pass on pump fuel is a great achievement. You should be able to hook up a bit better off the line at Calder so you should be able to do a bit better than that ... maybe a 10.7 is on the cards in the same trim?

Wsid Tonight 20/8/08
Well done Leigh, not a bad time and MPH ... I managed to get out there late last night for a look and saw the run. Like you said, from the stands the run looked like a walk in the park. The launch was very sedate and the car didn't sound like it was working very hard to get to the finish line. It looked like a nice straight run. I agree with the footbrake vs transbrake aruement that the footbrake is quicker, easier to control and no where near as harsh as the transbrake. Should be interesting to see how she goes once you have the transbrake launch sorted out !!

Good luck with it ... looks like it should be a good night. I'll have to give tonight a miss as I'm recovering from the flu.

Upgraded To Xr6t From?
VX Series II, GEN 3 with all of the SS options. The car lasted about 12 months. Motor, Gearbox and diff could not take the punishment. It hurt the back pocket when I had to trade up to the XR while stepping out of a 3 year HP lease. OUCH!! But it was so worth it in the long run ...

11.18s@124mph On 19" Street Tyres !
Ahhh Danny, About time someone figured it out !! Here is an update from last week that I posted under the WSID 13th August thread: (Just keeping the progress on street tyres in one location): "Left home after 6pm, filled up with some Vpower Racing and then got to then track at about 7pm. My brother bought me a ticket earlier. First run was at about 8:30, heaps of stoppages. Did a good burnout, left the line on 0 psi (19" Maxxis) and then it started wheel spinning and slightly fishtailing through 1st and 2nd. I tried to drive through it but when I shifted into 3rd the car got thrown sideways a few times heading towards the wall before I gave up the run ... 12.3sec@110mph 1.85 60'. Very interesting run!! Second run: When I was stalling it up to launch I got a phone call and got distracted. The boost built up to 2 - 3 psi before I launched and it just lit them up off the line, 1st, 2nd and 3rd was just a smoke show... 20s@93mph with a 3.4sec 60 footer. This time slip will be saved with the 35s pass that I have when I broke a CV a few years ago. Brian ran a few 132mph runs before broke, what I think was, a CV at the line. By the time I finished my second run he was gone. I met Leigh from ETM for the first time and saw his Orange Ute ... Very impressive setup. He will do well once he sorts out the $2 intercooler hose clamp problem! ( I had the same problem a couple weeks ago!). I think he managed to do a few 1.5x sec launches and some 1/2 track runs... There was a nice Yellow GT with black stripes out as well. It was owned by Pat's-Missus’s'-Dad. It was his first time at the drag strip and even though he could not get it to hook up he was having some fun. Not sure how he ended up. Overall it was another very cold but interesting night at WSID. There were a nmber of other Xrs out but I cant report on any other results as the timeboards were not working again?" I've got the flu this week and am not sure if I am going to make it out there this week ... Even though it was useless trying to put any power down to the track last week. I am still keen to give it another go ...

Wsid 13 August 2008
I'm going to try and get out there but will be running late... so if they are still allowing competitors to run when I get out there then I will run the taxi and see if I can sneal in a 10s pass on the 19s.

11.18s@124mph On 19" Street Tyres !
On 98 pump fuel the car is running up around the 400 rwkw mark. I have only been given one tune, I use this on the street and track. I have to say it again, this is a 100% street trim time, no race fuel, no other special preparation, same 19" rims and tyres (@40psi), as is daily driven.

Now that's a serious tranny upgrade !! Should be an interesting night !!

11.18s@124mph On 19" Street Tyres !
Thanks ... David, I think the track was ok but not at its best going by the comments I heard during the night from various competitors. The Maxis are a very good value tyre and I can vouch for them (that has to earn me a fresh set... ha!). As for the driver, I think the car with its smooth power delivery and chasis setup it ran the pass easily. I think my input was quite minimal and I should not be credited for a such a well setup car.

11.18s@124mph On 19" Street Tyres !
I was waiting for your comment... what took you so long? I was questioned about the 10.8 sec run that I achieved last year and I went out a couple months ago and ran 10.98 and a 10.88s passes. So what... I ran a few mid 11 sec passes and had some fun with the car in between, what is the big deal? So I guess you ran your 10.6 sec pass straight after your 10.7 sec pass and you did not have any runs in between? LMAO You can read my other thread and I have disclosed every run in between the 10 sec passes. So now you want to question whether I actually ran an 11.18sec pass on the 19" Maxis... Here is the proof (pic thanks to Badger Photography which shows the tyres)
