So got the job done, feel happier, the oil looked black in container but the guy said it was not to bad and no metal on the magnet so much for lifetime oil

Anyone recommend or let me know where you have sourced Gulf Western synthetic in Melbourne.

I have used OilWord in Chelteham in the past but they are fair bit of a drive from where I am.

Today I spoke to a tech advisor from gulf western and asked about the syntrans,He told me that it has been developed specifically for the zf trans and it is actually approved by zf themselves so there you have it..

Is there anything official from ZF?, not that I don't trust the guy that is trying to sell a knock off of it.

As far as I am aware, there isn't any official approval from ZF, the same message has been on other Gulf Western drums.

Someone went through and compared specs in a thread, it doesn't meet exactly the same specs as the ZF fluid. It's missing a few (4 I think) but whether this matters or not in the real world is debatable and experience shows if it does have an effect it's not critical.
