We have considered this. However it becomes very difficult on a claim when blame can be pointed in many directions. eg various other component manufacturesr rather than KPM. This is why we structure our program with selected upgrades and workshops.

Our Streetfighter Intank 1000hp Ute Module is now in manufacturing. We believe as per our Streetfighter sedan system , this will be the best anti-surge system on the market . It should be several weeks until ready. It comes with complete plug and play wiring/relay kit and high flow fuel pressure regulator. Simply put, we manufacture our fuel "surge" tanks to be housed in your existing fuel tank and not externally. This gives gives numerous advantages including being surrounded by cool dense fuel. Our Streetfighter sedan is currantly at approx 490-510rwkw with the twin intank system operating perfectly both on road and track.
-
Hi Ratter We have tested that the injectors are generally maxed out at 360 rwkw and the pump anywhere from 390-420 rwkw. Our testing is both on car supply and return and bench testing fuel modules and injectors. Our testing has been over numerous 5.0 Coyotes over the last several years. However we have had several Coyotes that have maxxed out at much less power than indicated. Therfore we suggest that every cay is tested for return supply reserve and duty cycle delivery if uptuning. This ensures both pump and injectors are running with reserve capability at your individual power level.

Injectors That Tuners 'prefer'
KPM Motorsport replied to CDR_078's topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
Yes, 100% agreed. If you are not planning on any excessive power and are happy with the 300-320 rwkw 98 oct or E85 this is the perfect choice. As per manufacturers, you only need an injector to support your level of power. Why water a daisey with a fire hose! One advantage however is match setting. Bosh allows for +/- 4% variance. KPM can supply the GT 500 Bosch EV14 550cc at +/- 1% variation for increased fuel delivery precisoin. We also supply the correct scaling data to suit your car. This injector in our opinion is a great choice. -
Hope you are enjoying your new car. Yes the fans are very loud and normal on this model. The upside is with all our extreme testing on cold and hot temeperatures they work brilliantly. The engine coolant temeprature has never been an issue , even at the level of our development vehicle.

"anti Fuel Surge" Explained
KPM Motorsport replied to KPM Motorsport's topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
Yes fuel temperature is a very important issue. The hotter the fuel becomes the less dense it is. Cold fuels will cause hard startarting problems. Hot or overheated fuel or overly volatile fuel is the main cause of vapor lock and leaning out of mixtures. Fuel temperature depends on several factors: the ambient temperature how hard the vehicle is working, how well the fuel system is isolated from the heat of the engine how effectively the fuel system is cooled This is one of the major reasons manufacturers place the fuel systems intank. The fuel tank is located away from many potential heat sources eg engine, exhausts, proximity to road temperature All fuel is returned to a large resevoir ( fuel tank ) and is cooled by the surrounding fuel. the pump/s are also immersed and kept cool. Our Streetfighter 1000hp intank and Walbro 460 intank fuel systems follow suit. -
"anti Fuel Surge" Explained
KPM Motorsport replied to KPM Motorsport's topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
Slight wording mistake. -
Anti-surge explained With the release of our innovative Streetfighter intank fuel system, there have been many questions asked of us and much talk of what is an “anti-surge” fuel system Simply, the answer is- A fuel system that will supply a constant flow of cool fuel at a constant pressure without aeration to meet the engines demands under all conditions This supply of fuel must be met under all conditions from idle to maximum power, low fuel level to full tank levels, straight-line driving, to extreme cornering, slow take off to extreme launches, cold conditions to hot road track temperatures. You will notice that almost all standard vehicles are engineered to meet all these demands. They have to be or most of us would be back at the dealership complaining to have the “surge” fixed under warranty. Therefore the standard fuel systems designed by the vehicle manufacturer engineers can be called “anti-surge fuel systems.” The problem of fuel surge arises when we enthusiasts start modifying our standard vehicles for increased engine power. Standard fuel systems are only designed to supply fuel correctly “without surge” at the standard engine power levels. Increased engine power can only be supported by increased fuel delivery. Once we increase the level of engine power beyond the standard fuel system capabilities we WILL start to experience the effects of “fuel surge”. Depending on how much extra engine power you have, “fuel surge” can be as subtle as a slight lean out that you do not feel on heavy acceleration or as extreme as absolute starvation causing a pause in power and to bang you head against the windscreen. The answer to overcome this fuel surge on your extra engine power is- "A fuel system that will supply a constant flow of cool fuel at a constant pressure without aeration to meet the engines demands under all conditions.” Depending on your level of power increase this can be done by several methods 1) Direct replacement of the standard fuel pump with a higher fuel supply pump. Will the extra fuel pump supply now drain your standard swirl pot /module of fuel to quickly? If so, you will need: 2) Replacement larger intank fuel module with single or more fuel pumps or 3) External fuel pump/s and tank addition. Will the extra delivery of fuel cause high fuel pressures, therefore minimizing your fuel pump maximum delivery capabilities? Will the larger/extra fuel pumps need correct rewiring to supply the correct amperage demands for maximum fuel delivery? If so, you will need -Fuel modules fittings etc. engineered for correct fuel pressures -Fuel pressure regulators to support the extra flow -Rewiring of your fuel system. Of course all systems will vary in one need or another for them to work correctly and overcome previously mentioned fuel surge causes. They will also need to capture and hold fuel in calculated quantities to prevent surge from cornering, take off, braking etc. With both our Streetfighter 1000HP intank pump module and Walbro 460 packages KPM have engineered, developed and tested our latest inovative fuel systems to meet all these requirements to " supply a constant flow of cool fuel at a constant pressure without aeration to meet the engines demands under all conditions " Our fuel systems have been thouroughly bench , track and road tested on all aspects mentioned. We ensure and guarantee to supply a true high performance , safe, whisper quiet and legal “anti surge system" that operates perfectly on your standard or 1000hp vehicle.

Posted Yesterday, 08:52 PM "So it's safe to assume that a typical EV14 in the 1000cc flow rate range is born from a common ancestor, however each company has its own method of modifying (to increase flow to 1000cc) and providing characterization data. So different companies are indeed supplying a different injector. Sure the internals are the same, but the tip quality may vary as would the quality of the data. There are lots of Companies marketing 1000cc Bosch EV14's these days....and many cheap options available internationally / eBay, so what I'm trying to highlight is the need to stick to a reputable supplier with a good reputation." Spot on. A reputable company that has data availble and back up service will always be your best option. "Re-calculating the speed density algorithm takes a LONG time on a XR6T where there is a unique slope and offset for each cam angle.....so I can't see tuners doing this anytime soon, so in a way the correct data isn't going to be used anyway." The correct data will allow the tuning of the Speed denity tables to be accurate and make sense when calculating changes according to the engines Modified VE.This is why back up service with experiance tuning Australian vehicles is an advantage.
-
This is correct. They are Bosch EV14 injectors 'specially modified' by many companies that characterize them to obtain OEM spec data that is compatible with factory computers. This also includes ID.

We would be happy to offer you a trade in offer for a replacement Streetfighter twin intank fuel system. This would give a great opportunity for both KPM and yourself to offer the forum members some independent feedback on the differences advantages/disadvatages of both the external fuel system against the KPM Streetfighter Twin in tank system. Contact me if interested. 08 82999 998

Joke taken Every set of KPM Bosch EV14 injectors receives the correct scaling data . Our stance is that it does not take 20 pages of wording to be able to offer scaling and make it a better/ worse , cheaper/dearer injector.

KPM asked for a right to reply and the post was returned. The moderator then felt to keep it closed as the thread was getting out of hand.

yes they are a cheap and quality option.

You always need a non return check valve. This keeps pressure in your fuel line when the engine is off/pump not running. It is a standard item on all cars. It is usually part of the pump itself. When people replace there pumps and /or add a Bosch 044 , is when you need the extra check valve. The Bosck 044 does not internally house a check valve . Bosch have an external screw in valve for this pump that should be always used. It is not a perfrmance item , rather a drivabilty item. With residual pressure in your fuel line , you will have immediate fuel supply on start up. This means no extra cranking to fill the fuel lines before it reaches the engine. It serves another purpoes of preventing fuel vaporisation in your fuel lines on hot days restarts.
-
' Yes you do need them to keep residual presssure. Give me a call and I can supply you 2 genuine 044 Bosch check valves No charge.
