Yella Terra Wasp Gt
(FROM YESTERDAY) we have just finished tuning yesterday and the results are as impressive as the Kit itself. the rear wheel power is 320 rwkw but what is most impressive is the almost flat torque curve. we measure torque on a chassis dyno in what is callled Tractive Effort. a reading of 6000 n of tractive effort on the dyno at some stage in a power run is impressive at any time BUT when tractive effort is about or above 6000 n tractive effort from 2000 - 6500 at almost flat line that is not only impressive in numbers but exactly how you want your power delivered ALL the time at all revs and loads. What this then means is that you no longer rely on your big kw number for max torque but you rely on the torque to make power every where and who cares what the kw is.(it only becomes a result of what the torque produces) in short this unit at 320 rwkw feels like it has the power of a 400 rwkw engine because the unit that matters most when chasing outright pulling power (Torque) is high throughout the whole rev range. its always hard to explain torque and power so I hope ive made sense. p.s we ran the car at the ford/Expensive Daewoo show today and it pulled 315 rwkw. The dyno operator (Dominic from dyno dynamics) mentioned that the car had good power after he power run it and was midly impressed.I then asked him to pull up the tracive effort reading ( torque curve ) and after seeing the flat line he then became Hugely impressed. Dominic power runs cars for Dyno Dynamics for a living daily and understands the differance between outright power numbers (kws) and good power numbers with great torque curves. It was the torque curve that this blower kit produces that impressed Dominic to take a second look at this blower kit. enough said. cheers david

PLUS Trophy. 2)Overall Winner ( HANDICAP SYSTEM ) Race Driver training Day at MALLALA Circuit in your own car PLUS Trophy. Have fun and find out how your car compares for bragging rights on a level playing field against other similar Fords OR get serious and prove what youve got to take out Outright winner or Overall winner and be able to call your with PROOF, Adelaides Most Powerful Ford . Winners will be posted on the Forum as Adelaides Most Powerful Ford. We hope this will tempt some of the interstate guys to come over in future and have a go at the S.A guys. WILL BE HELD ON SAT.OCTOBER 7 Entry $30 per car (MUST be paid before 30 SEPT in FULL to register) Snags $1 / Cans $1 will be available during the day. Starts at 9 AM KPM Motorsport 257 Goodwood Road Kings Park 5034 ph. 08 82999 998 fx 08 82999 665 Em [email protected] www.kpmauto.com See you there David Roscio -------------------- FORD Expensive Daewoo SHOW TESTED TUNING AUSTRALIA'S HIGHEST POWER XR6T, TYPHOON AND XR8 ( SUPER CHARGED) at this stage we are looking at a handicap system that looks as follows: XR6 N/A START WITH 195rwkw HANDICAP XR6 Turbo START WITH 40 rwkw HANDICAP V8s N/A START WITH 95 rwkw HANDICAP V8s Turbo/Supercharged START WITH 0 rwkw HANDICAP This system is designed to give only cars with substantial modifications a relatively even chance of achieving similar figures as cars of other configirations with substantial mods. It will not work for near standard cars to be compared against each other. eg. if you own a xr6 N/A with good mods and achieve 165 rwkw plus 195 rwkw handicap your total will be 360 rwkw. up comes an XR6 Turbo also with good mods, and achieves 315 rwkw plus 40 rwkw handicap , its total will be 355 rwkw. in this example the XR6 N/A wins the shootout our reasoning behind this handicap is in our opinion and experiance it would take similar effort and costs on uprading the xr6 N/A for 165 rwkw as it would in upgrading the xr6 Turbo for 315 rwkw. this thinking and method has been put into the handicap system on all the cars above. IN NO WAY do we think this is a perfect system but if everyone agrees to the handicaps by payment and registering before the day it will make for GREAT FUN and a very interesting day . regards david Hi again guys We have decided because of the spectator interest on our dynoshoot out day Sat Oct 7 we will be giving a trophy for best presented spectator car. Engine & Drivetrain Durability With Edit
just to add at the moment we have 1/2 dozen cars in adelaide with 370 rwkw or more and posibly another dozen with over 300 rwkw. these cars have been tuned with the customer being fully aware of the problems that may occur if engine internal and driveline upgrades are not done and have been prepared to tune to these levels otherwise at there own risk. the amazing fact is that only 2 engines at these power levels have failed and only after harsh punishment, drag racing and numerous dyno shootouts.( both these engines were producing over 390 rwkw and 400 rwkw respectively(over 600hp with stock internals. we have since rebuilt these engines with high spec internal components for durability and also concentrated on blueprint of clearances and air flow. these engines now produce 400 rwkw (typoon) and 437 rwkw (xr6t) have great tunes ,wives can drive kids to school and husband /wife can race on weekend. WHAT NEW PRODUCTION CAR CAN DO THIS FOR THE MONEY SPENT. although we do not advise tuning above 280 rwkw without driveline upgrades we can say that these engines so far are giving great durability with correct upgrades and tuning. although we have heard of several engines failing and bending/throwing rods at low power levels(stock) it is a very small ratio in the scheme of how many xr6t have been sold in australia. we now have tuned many dozens of xr6t to up to 280 rwkw with correct upgrades and no problems BUT although we know 2 engines broken above 390 rwkw we like to keep a conservative 110 rwkw buffer and strongly suggest engine/driveline internal upgrades at 280 rwkw. regards david roscio kpm motorsport
