  1. It's the Rift, not the Gear (I think the Gear only works with a couple of Samsung Android Phones?)
  2. Awesome stuff - just need to get it off the floor now
  3. <= is mine
  4. Trueblood fan will be saving that pic for his desktop
  5. Looks like one of those woodland pixies pulling their legs back and showing their brekkie Did you try the mustard snort yet Ralph?
  6. Pics of tatt? Ouch Reminds me of my young bloke when he was about 3. Poked his mum in the eye "Ow - that hurts" "Does it?" he said - then poked himself in the eye "yes, yes it does" he concluded
  7. Screen is 1920*1080 - so 960*1080 for each eye - running @ 75hz More noticeable than the resolution is the pixel density - the space between the pixels gives it the effect of looking through a screen door (as they call the effect) - sort of like looking through a fly screen or block out curtain. Depending what I'm looking at it's either really noticeable, or not at all. If the VR sucks you in it's soon forgotten as well. Wouldn't want to read or type a document though. The darker the scene, the less noticeable. Bear in mind, this is still a development kit - retail should be early next year with even better resolution and refresh rate. Am coming from a 40" 4k monitor when I put them on and am totally blown away with what I see. It's a whole new world - the potential for this and where it's headed gives me a chubby
  8. Snort some mustard powder
  9. Am sure bizkets could work out which morning to not hang clothes out
  10. Couple of bags of dog sh*t and cans of baked bean in the fire pit overnight
  11. First corner at the end of mountain straight - I was pressing very hard on the clutch pedal, wondering why I wasn't slowing down. The resulting crash into the wall resulted in a fair bit of the queasiness Found the brake pedal for my next try and it went a hell of a lot better.
  12. Oculus Rift arrived yesterday and played with some of the demo stuff - bloody unreal. Did a tour of the solar system, flew around a town, piloted and fought in a huge mech robot, piloted an X-Wing fighter, sat in a movies theater and watched a movie, sat on a couch in the loungeroom and watched TV plus some other "gimmicky things" Finally got it working with racing sims earlier today (was a basic setup error I was doing that was not letting it work) Half a lap in the FG Falcon round Bathurst in iRacing was enough for me at the moment - setting it up properly to run was making me motion sick. I hadn't centered the positioning properly and it had me sitting off center and at an angle (keyboard was on the other side of the room and was too keen to get in and go). Instant motion sickness, nausea and sweats. Will wait til the tummy settles before I give it a good whack later tonight Think I'll try a kart or open wheeler tonight (to take the cockpit/cabin out of the equation). Am tipping it could take a while to aclimatise to the VR and movement. That said though - bloody hell, it really was like I was driving the car. The gadget is going to be an absolute blast.
  13. Just change the title of this thread to ^^ Easier than trying to tidy it up
  14. Will be posting the same in a months time
  15. WPMO: "It's a Mitsi?" adds on telly Of course it's a f*cking Mitsubishi - you been in a cave the last 20 years - they haven't changed?
  16. 4 cars
  17. Don't think it should be a problem - the catch up is the main reason for the meets (will let CC confirm or deny though)
  18. Shiba - same as your avatar. Same spitz "family" though as the husky (just smaller)
  19. Saw the new pup for the first time. Got her shots yesterday, can pick her up in a couple of weeks.
  20. I think "just as able" meant equally unable (as in too far from WA) Will find you the name of the joint. Fingers crossed they're still showing the film at that time in a couple of weeks
  21. Any date is good with me ATM.
  22. Great vid again Musics getting better too The grey road that looks gravely was a hell of a lot better than it looked like it would be - nice and flat, but heaps of grip Damn the F6 sounded good
  23. Was $650 - bloody Oz dollar made it worse than I thought - was about $US400 incl postage ($US350 outright)
