  1. Having only just had it done, I can't make too much comment yet. But the idea of a car that doesnt need waxing again was the major appeal for me. I guess time will tell as to the benefit of it, BUT Elite Finish did the detail for me, and they've detailed my last 3 cars so I'll take Hamish's word for the effectiveness of it
  2. New photo after detail and Opticoat paint protection:
  3. I have the radiator bypassed on my BTR 4 speed to external cooler, and often see temps of 40-50º with a max of around 75º. However, what concerns me is that if you look at the viscosity specs of trans fluid, e.g. penrite stuff: http://www.penriteoil.com.au/pis_pdfs/0ATF%2095LE.pdf The viscosity at 40º is 46, whereas the ford defined operating temperature (nearing 100ºc) is 8.3. Therefore with our trans running so cold, would the internals not be working harder to move the trans fluid around? Thoughts?
  4. Cheap - but not sure if sh*t. VS-XX is one of my favorite wheels of all time, and I'd be rather biased towards them. What sizes are the VS-XX?
  5. Oh and I gave up on iphail and bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 - best phone decision ever
  6. I have trans temp working for the BTR 4 sp!! After much trawling the Internet and trial and error I now have trans temp for the BTR to be able to be monitored via Torque: PID: 22092C Scale Factor: x1 Equation: (((A*256)+B)-32)*5/9 Header: <-- Blank

  8. Yup - been there done it before, yet for some reason we are doing it again :/

Only just saw this thread.. I've been a regular blood donor for 8 years now since my mates mum was diagnosed with Lukemia. Unfotunately it took her life back in 2005, and since then have donated whole blood every 3 months! (give or take a few). Sorry no photo's though when donated on Monday
  11. My situation was a little different. I got into Electrical Engineering out of year 12, but wanted to work first. So did 1 subject per year to hold my place at uni while I did the apprenticeship, then went full time study for 4 years at the end of the apprenticeship. Giving up the $$$ was hard, but always been happy I went this path as I consider myself an engineer with practical background. However, to go through engineering from being a sparky, you would have to sit the University's Adult Mature Entry test and even then, I'd say you'd be luck to get 3-4 subjects of recognised prior learning for the degree, meaning its still going to take 3-4 years full time, or 7 or 8 years part time.
  12. What year was that? 98, first year apprentice I took home $152 per week. Now, gave up sparky to be Electrical Engineer.... Sitting in air conditioned office most of the week or if I feel like it, supervising sparky's on site :sungum:
  13. Well I thought that may be the response. MV in Blackwood? or are any others worth while?
  14. Can anyone recommend me an auto workshop near Keswick to service the BTR in my BA? Reason I would prefer near keswick is so I can drop it off before work and pickup after. Anywhere from Edwardstown to Keswick would be good....
  15. Rolled over 88,888kms Not bad for a 10.5 year old car
  16. So I guess with at least 5 packs they'd give better pricing... if you can negotiate a better deal I'd shift my buy to here :D
  17. Well that price is -25% off RRP via a group buy on club.liberty forum (mrs has a liberty)
  18. Knoles do you have any photo's of where you installed it? I'm going to be doing this to reduce road noise as I have some weird vibration/resonant frequency thing going on which I haven't seem to eliminated - so thinking this will help. I was planning to cover the holes / half of inner door frame, some patches on the outer skin, the parcel shelf and line the spare wheel well. Any other spots to help reduce road noise? do I need to lift the carpet and cover some of the floor pan or is factory deadening ok in this area? Also, I'll be using Resomat from Trufit carpets as I can get a 3.5sqm pack for $140 + delivery at the moment.
  19. What's the difference between burnout and powerskid? is it that powerskid must be in a straight line? vehicle not allowed to cease motion? can you use your brakes to hold back car or simply one on the power must have foot off brake?
