Stock shifter is mounted via a rubber damper. Reduces the feel and can lead to movement between the lever and shifter.

When I modded my old car a had some bushed in steel tubed up to bolt the lever directly to the shifter.

Massive improvement in feel and precision at the expense of noise.

I use a steel adaptor box as well, but with a couple of rubber gaskets on each side to decouple the noise. Makes it quiter than stock.

How does this wot box work? If it's a ignition cut when you activate the switch how do you actually put it in gear and take off without it just cutting the ignition.

Is it speed sensitive or have some other input for stopping and sitting at lights?

Can be set up via load or accelelerator pedal position, so it only comes into play at 3/4 or more for example. Might even be able to do speed as well so you can launch it. Will mean no more clutch kicks but I imagine..but from what toads was saying it can be turned on and off?

Throttle position and clutch switch position.

Unless you have you throttled matted and clutch in it won't activate the two step, ign cut requires a present throttle position, clutch switch input and rpm above a present value.

Re solid mounted shifters - protip superpro Sway Bar link bottom bushes are the correct size for the shift lever on a b series and are a nice mix of noise isolation and stiffness improvement.

The RPM above a preset level is for the two-step lock-out RPM. I.e. I have the two-step disabled about 1500rpm so I don't be silly.

The WOT BOX itself is cheap but you need an Opt 6 or equivalent clutch and a built rear end.

A hard mounted shifter with a ign cut on shift would blow your mind.

Srsly wrap the portion of the stick that's under the boot in dyna mat. Makes a massive difference to the resonance. I have some off cuts I could send you if you don't want to rush about and buy a pack.

So I've just pulled my stick out to suss it all and I see the stick holes are heaps bigger than the base top holes. You said you used bushed steel to fill it up?

Yes I had some top hap bushes machined up,then had to flat off the sides for clearance. Toads or Turboknapp should be able to post a pick at some stage as they have a set each installed.
