after I traveled to toowoomba (2.5 hr each way )yesterday ,on the way back home we went to munchies car show that is on every friday night . so I thought I would use one of those car wash places .bad idea ,now the car has bad stains on all plastic window surounds mirrors . it has also removed every bit of polish that was on the car (two weeks ago I polished the car ) it also removed the tectal rust proving that I had on the back of the cab (completely gone ?) it also has taken all the coating off the new bolts for the aluminium tray (so now they will rust . the first thing I noticed was that now the gloss black chassis is a matt black .was going to phone up Shannon's insurance to see what I can do about it ,as I am concerned that it will start to rust now . there cleaning product must be mixed to concentrated or it would not take off rust proving . the paint also has lost all shine .what would be the best way to handle something like this

it does not look like this no more

That sucks gunna! I know the chemical in those brushless carwashes are pretty hardcore and I've been told they'll strip any wax or polish you've got on there straight off...but didn't realise it'd do the same with the rustproofing etc!

Gunna you know better than that mate...all that effort and time you put in looking after it and then you go and use an automatic car wash?

first time I used one ,never thought it would be that bad . thought lots of people use them so one time it would not hurt . the stuff they used even turned my shorts a different colour where the water splashed up (looks like bleach stains )

barnz take a look at a mates xt tonner he is just building (on my forum ) its going to be a wild machine . lol I want all his mods in my ute

sorry mate will be back for the tune when I get it all back together ,he said 360 rwkw .now that will make some difference from 312 rwkw . he will also not tune the car with the E boost as they are no good on these engines . the stock computer is far better to use

thanks Stripes for you comments ,and I will never ever use these car wash places .
