Firstly, you'd have a huge restriction in the exhaust, secondly it'd be like running a stock BA bottom end on 18psi

Interesting comment. Perhaps you are right, it cannot be done with a Bluepower kit.

I saw a FG XR8 at BPT Motorsport with their P/D blower kit running an Eaton M140 / TVS head unit, 11psi boost, AFR's in the low 11's, 11psi boost, STOCK HEADERS AND CATS, Perry cat back system make 405rwkw repeatedly. Kinda dispells the myth some places have been peddling that these thing need drainpipe size exhaust systems to make power.

Any tuner who's good at their job will extract 400-450rwkw out of a stock Boss 290 with a P/D setup. I've had a 391rwkw BF F6 and it's no comparison to my ute.

Who said I was talking about a BOSS engine?? TBH I find Expensive Daewoo LS2 far more attractive. Harrop 122 with I/C drive in drive out costs around 11k and should see you with 400rwkw. I have done a bit of research on this too lol.

Short clip showing a pretty TUFF blown V8.

oh and TUFGSR, how the f*ck do you disagree with what I said about the cost of each application and then agree with XRQTOR about the Bluepower kit? Was he right or was I? We were both saying practically the same thing.

p.s I am still a FORD man at this point, was just explaining with my refference to the Expensive Daewoo V8 that Turbo charged inline 6 isnt the best thing on the market no matter how high or low your budget is.

lol I was referring to the boss motor eating the F6.

Personally I do not care about what costs what or who has more power. My response to you was in regard to my own personal experiance with what I am trying to acheive.

Obviously there are many different ways to get the same result and everyone has there own opinion on this and I thought I'd share mine.

So please continue.

With regards to the comparison in performance of a 400rwkw SC V8 vs a 400 rwkw Turbo charged inline 6 ... I would put my money on the turbo inline 6 out performing the SC V8 assuming both get traction.

In my limited experience with such cars my guess is that the low down torque in the Turbo would monster the SC V8.

But then again I like the idea of combining these two approaches ... Turbo Charged V8 !

Best of luck with the project.

Turbo would get the jump but the SC would reel it in and finish the job.....

Im talking twin screw blowers such as a kenne bell or whipple, if you think any turbo setup can match one of these things for off tap instant tqe under 3ooorpm your dilousional.

Heeeey!

Cause they look and sound better!

Ummm I don't think so!

This is true! Very nice figure indeed for a stockie.

Having owned a 350odd F6 and currently about the same power in my GT ute I much prefer the charged Boss. Overall it is a much nicer car to drive and power is a lot more controllable.

The only downside is no turbo spool. That sound IMHO can't be replaced, I just love it. Oh and not to mention the cost! To do the right job it costs a lot more to acheive the same power but the end result is much more desireable.

I'm not having a go at your car mate, yours is f*cking tuff. All I'm saying is you could probably achieve the same power and the same quality in an boosted six for less than a blown 8.

You of all people should be able to correct me if I'm wrong.

Bang for buck the F6 is a much better choice than a Boss hands down. If you go all out on the Boss, then obviously it's going to make more power as it has 2 extra cylinders & 1.4L capacity on an I6.

There's no doubting the Boss can be made into a weapon with some $$$ thrown at it but what most people here are saying is that pound for pound, dollar for dollar the F6 will chop the V8 until they both reach full potential & the Boss owner has to refinance his house 3 or 4 times :buttrock:
