Guys I had a BF shaft in my FG SP from factory and my car is manual. This could be due to my car being one of the early batches of SPs off the line. I have popped it 3 times so I'm guessing it's a design fault of the cars suspension geometry maybe?. I have also compared my tailshaft to the FG shaft that everyone was popping and mine had much larger cvs. A member from the ford forums got his replaced under warrenty with the unofficial redesigned shaft and it looked identical with mine (BF CVs) with the exception of using the larger centre cv on teh rear as well.

I thought the cruise was good, good on Dillz for organising it. Any one got any more piks of my angels eyes? As for the december cruise, I'm thinking more around the 12th/13th. I miss the Dose! The symphony of T's was just awesome to listen to.

As the topic says, is there anyone that knows wether Ford have revised the FG rear CV in the Tailshaft? I know of one person who had his tailshaft replaced with what seems to be a larger rear CV. I have rung my dealer, his dealer, FORD directly and no one seems to know anything. Cheers Christian

I too just popped my 3rd tailshaft. First was the centre CV, then centre bearing and now rear CV. Only other options are custom or buy a different car. One of FGs "great" achievements...not!

Nothing a good squeeze of the throttle and some opposite lock can't fix!

This was with 11 sheets of plaster board. Exhaust was an hitting with anything over 40km/h. Looked real nice and low though, bump stops where pretty squashed too. Also had a tub load of melamine with a few 3m sheets sticking out the back. That was with the 19s on the back and it pretty much bottomed out everywhere. I love my ute! So versatile.

For what its worth I have found a guy who can replace both the Cvs and the centre bearings for a good price, I have now broken both. It is a sad thing that Ford have skimped out with sh*tty components in the FG. The rest of the car is great but the driveline is just not up to the task.

8 Months here and still very happy with mine. Much nicer and more comfortable to be in than the old BF F6. Had very few issues with it since new, that being sqeeky brakes which I fixed but came back. Need to re do it but properly this time. I blew my shaft but got it fixed and havent done another one to date. Just learnt to not cane it with load in the tub. It's developed some very minor clunks in the last couple weeks but concidering how I drive it I reckon it's to be expected. I have also sqeeky struts which I assume are worn due to the very low ride hieght. Time for an upgrade I thing. All in all I'm very happy with it, apart from the lack in power which will be addressed shortly..

Yeah there is an imposter then! This weekend is fine but it will have to be after 4 cause I'm working both days. Sat or sun is fine just let me know so I can make sure I am close by in case I go out. Christian

Mine does this too but I just put it down to the fact I have 15mm clearance on the bump stops....with an empty tub.

I also blew my CV up while hastily exiting an intersection with a FULL tub load of tools. I'm pretty sure it's only an issue when ther car is too low. There are people who have popped it with stock power and modified so it's clearly a design fault. Mine was replaced with a FG complete tailshaft and I just learnt to not punish it when I have a full load (in the tub).

Thefirst ones are really nice. Get them in black and your set. Who cares about the price, trust me it is worth every cent to have the perfect rim. You will never regret it. As for offsets I have a +40 on the rear with 10 inch rims and 295s. There's about 10mm clearance between tyre and guard and about 25mm between tire and chassis. You could easily get an 11 inch rim and 315s with the right offset. I'm up for tires soon so I'm going with a Toyo Proxi 4 in 305s Christian

I got a stonking 13.6, my quickest out of 4 runs. I just couldn't get any decent traction in the first 2 gears without backing off heaps. My first run I almost hit the wall, when I shifted to second I was facing the wall! 22s are not the best to drag with especially when there on 30% but I really wanted to see what the car does in proper street trim. I'll be back with more boost and MTs next time. Was heaps of fun though.
