Now confirmed as the release date for the new model, well next upgrade model. Along with the TT, only 12 months late!!! The Mk III is going to be great at least on paper. Just hope Ford can get their build quality sorted. New supplier for tailshafts and diffs I've heard.

That's to be expected. I'd say it will be stronger, but time will tell. TUR, can you see if you can find out some technical info on the box?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>There are versions rated to 650nm, so they are pretty strong, alot stronger than the 4 speed BTR. Its a close ratio box so a higher diff ratio will probably be used, probably around a 2.8 ratio. It can provide 8% better fuel economy over the 5 speed ZF auto so that would be even higher compared to the BTR. Its apparently 15kgs lighter than the 4 speed and smaller with less moving parts too. I spoke to someone who has been driven around the proving grounds in one and he said you can barely even feel the thing shift its that smooth.
