The track last night was not friendly to my car at all.... The fact I ran more power and nearly 100kg less weight didn't help. I just couldn't get it to leave the line. 2.0 / 2.1 60's, best run being 11.6 @ 120, and in that run it lit up first so I got off it and then lit up second. After that I tried sandbagging off the line at lower revs and it all went to sh*t.. When I nearly stalled and proceeded to miss 2nd, running 12.1 I took my bat and ball and went home.. But, on the track it's dialed in and menacing fun... http://www.clubracer.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/ResultsOutput-Round-2.pdf -

Looks like I'm heading down tomorrow night in the rice burner. Less weight, less fuel, more timing, more boost, more traction. Surely it can only end in tears???? Hope not, State Sprint Series Sunday arvo... ..

It takes too much co-ordiantion to organise a track day... Will have to wait for an XFT / Active day..... -

Considering these were the types of cars in front of me, I think I did orright !....: ( I was actually quicker than this car.....) And this mint Radical had a stroked 'bussa motor in it, two drivers alternating.. Only John Clarke was in front of me and in a sedan - but it's a 7 litre chev motor shoe horned into a fully sorted 180SX, and he's a driving instructor. The rest were open squeelers on slicks or that Radical on slicks.. Making excuses, my pBox shows a 'best lap' in the mid-high 48's on my low boost tune.. -

Sounds promising, except the heat... Pencil me in, what day of the week? Will be you be bringing the GT-Arrh, dammit it's broken again? I look like making the next FF (Nov 4), tyres in transit and not here in time for tonight, plus a full weekend of circuit next weekend for which it needs to be in one piece.... Calling Toad / Youngy.. -
Had her on the dyno last week to see what the tune is looking like. Turns out it's pretty good! Small dip at 6300rpm, would have been good to lift that up but I didn't attempt it considering I was stoked anyway.... About out of injector, running 90+% IDC's from 6k rpm up (90Lb / 950cc injectors).. Also looks like a flow restriction above 6krpm or so, might be my stock 2 1/4" intercooler piping.. 280 kw @ all 4 wheels, which equates to 350kw @ the fly (concervative) from 2.0L in something that weighs 1100kg... Still has stock: head, manifolds, intercooler & piping

Sweet Jack - Say Recall? http://www.choice.com.au/media-and-news/product-recalls/2011/arcan-llc-aluminium-vehicle-jack-recall.aspx -
Yes, manuals. One was mine, another was a user called Youngy (Jason) Mine - 330rwkw 11.81 @ 117 with a 1.65 60' on MT's on a 35 degree day, track temp in the 40's I think Street tyred (normal road tyres) went 12.3 @ 118 with a 1.88 60' Youngy - around the 380rwkw went 11.7 at 120mph or so. All from memory, can't remember exactly as all this was ~ 5 years ago! And 2nd gear burnouts - bah. 3rd gear and let it rip..
-
Yep. I still run electric side mirrors, electric window mirrors and A/C / heater matrix (fully automatic climate control in a track car!!) and central locking!.. I've cut no metal and it's still a fully functional car, except the interior is out. Well - was... she looks a bit naked now
-
Nice work Simon - that is haluing some ass.. I reckon I know where you could drop an easy 40kg's! If I didn't have my dash out I would have come down.. I'm on a stage II weight reduction program in the evo.. Someone should book a lane next time.
-
Aw Sik, a Callus.. Seriously though - VL? I had a VL I spent too much money on when I was a wipper snapper... Always like them..
-
Come show me how it's done I can't get much more as I'm nearly out of injector, but I may just try for a little bit more..... Weather is looking gooood for this week, with more than 2 runs I may be able to do 124mph justice.
-
Fark_n If I can build my engine in my garage, tune it myself and make 500hp from a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder then with your unlimited budget, why stop at 1900 from a 4.0 6 cylinder? Go hard or f_uck of Spiro. PS, I like what the Fernandez boys are doing for World Time Attack in the ute, looks the goods.. Seems like a bit of their influence is making it's way here........................ http://www.worldtimeattack.com/index.php/fernandez-update-xr6-ute-pro-class/
