02/04/05 06:45 AM02/04/05 06:45 AM #73 I have just got back this morning from the states - still very jet lagged. 30hours on planes will do that!Anyhoo, while in San Diego, we rented a new LS Lincoln and took a drive from San Diego to LA and back. After nearly causing a few accidents......... you try driving on the WRONG side of the car AND road.......... but that is another story. The Lincoln had a V8 (I don't know the specifics of output or capacity) and this 6 speed auto. Let us hope that we get this auto! I drove through a toll road and simply floored it from a dead stop and man, the thing launched pretty hard actually but the interesting thing was the engine held the revs between the first 3 gears. It only dipped very slightly between gear changes - probably only around 500rpm. It sounded like the pro-stock drag cars. Very impressive.BTW, I will never complain about peak hour traffic again. Until you are in bumper to bumper, stop-start, 8 LANES one-way traffic with narrow lanes for 200miles, we have it easy!Although, cruising at 100MPH was pretty cool. Highly illegal but nobody gave a sh!t.
