No. BA MKII rods are the same as BAI. Only post 06/06 BF's got the LPG/F6 rods. And the F6/LPG rods are the only difference in the Typhoon bottom end, so all post 06/06 BF's have the same bottom end as the Typhoon.

Its not a special edition, so it will be both auto and manual. Hopefully its not detuned too much cause it will be a monster.

When the V6 was going to be used, the ZF was going to be replaced with the Ford US built 6 speed auto that is specifically suited to the V6. AFAIK its not a copy of the ZF but a different box. Now that the V6 won't be around for at least the next 5 years they may have changed plans, I don't know. But then again a replacement auto would have to be pretty damn strong come 2010, I'm talking stronger than the ZF.

The sports steering wheel option for XR's is the same as the FPV wheel but it doesn't have the little FPV button on the lower left of the wheel, as in the pic above. I think later on in the BF the button disappeared so both wheels were the same.

Yep, gearboxes aren't the same between BA/F and FG, so I don't think the clutches would be interchangeable.

The only thing Holdens Sportswagon has managed to do is steal sales away from VE sedans, so Expensive Daewoo have spent a lot of money on a wagon that has added next to no extra sales for them. They sold over 1000 wagons the first few months on sale, but there sales are still lower than what they were when the wagon wasn't available. Ford will never build an FG wagon, the BF3 still sells over 400 a month and since all the R&D money has been payed for its quite profitable for them. They planned to cut the wagon when sales got low enough after the Territory was released but it hasn't happened, the fleets love them. Building an FG Sportswagon would add next to no extra sales and it would cost a bomb. The Territory is Fords sportswagon, while the BF3 is the work wagon. Between them they have the market covered, and combined sell a lot more than the VE wagon does.

The block is a little different, the dipstick tube goes into the block at the rear now for starters and the shape is different around that area, but the oil filter pad seems to be exactly the same, so it should work.

They didn't drop it, it was only the turbos that didn't have it. The FG also has a similar system in the plastic NA manifolds.

TeamRS claim to have totally eliminated torque steer with the revo knuckle, LSD and suspension settings, so I'm interested to see what the roadtests say.

They say to translate the time for the 1/8th to the 1/4, you should add around 50%, so going by that theory it would translate to a mid 13, which is probably what you would expect for a heavier ute on a slippery track.

Teething problems? FG quality and customer satisfaction ratings are the highest they have ever been, and its not like the BF didn't carry through a lot of the problems introduced with the BA. The FG has a lot better quality than the BF and the internal stats prove it. As much as I shouldn't be saying it the quality stats for the BF were actually lower than they were for the BA2, not that anyone could explain why.

The FG Turbo cop cars have F6 oil coolers factory fitted. Will make spotting an ex chaser a bit easier to spot. Just look for the oil cooler block between the oil filter and engine block.
