I agree, hence why I said in my first post that if I had to do melbourne city driving I would have got the auto aswell.

ahahahhahaha Funniest comment ive seen. Usually this is one way of trying to justify the lazy man option (auto)

Hey Geea, Shouldnt that read, If you intend to mod the car and want it to go quick down the quarter mile get an auto. As others have said, if you are going to use it for more than a 400 meter straight line, get the manual. A few laps around a track and the auto will cook itself, become sloppy in gear changes and overrev when boiled... Personally, I went with the 6 speed manual. Mainly because I do alot of twisty road driving and I like to have the car respond instantly to any gear I chose. If I had to drive into Melbourne central everyday I would have bought the auto.
  4. Anyone got a link or more pictures of this car?
  5. A wax is like adding a hardened shell to your car. Grab up a 3 step process kit from Meguires or Zaino to remove your swirls. The key to applying your wax is to have a decent variable speed buffer. Heres a few shots of my car after applying Meguires Tech Wax by hand.. (would have had even better results if I have used a buffer - mine died)
  6. lovely mate! Have you anymore pics (side on, front angle, rear angle, straight behind etc etc), im still trying to decide whether to de-wing and leave it or de-wing and add a bobtail.

Incorrect. The rear end of my ford needs a camber kit to go any lower. As it stands they are out by 2 degrees left and 5 degrees right.. Which means the inside of the tyre wears quicker. If you are lowering your car (more than Low's) then I would get the camber kits put in at the same time. O and the MKII does not have camber bolts in the rear.
  8. uh oh.. Watch out!! Youre about to be bombarded by the 'leave it on a GT' and 'Dont rice your T' brigades!! The whole point to modding a vehicle, whether its mechanical or in the looks department is to give it your own touch. I say do what you think looks good.
  9. The only reason im doing Ford servicing atm is because of the amount of issues ive had with my car. (each one of these ive had to take the car back in, theyve either claimed to fix it or awaiting parts. Some are minor, but you wouldnt expect this from a $50k car) 1.Intercooler Hose came off 2. Intercooler Hose came off 3. Intercooler Hose came off 4. 1500km Service, Engine whine in the speakers and a squeaky seat. 5. Squeaky seat and engine whine in speakers 6. Engine whine through speakers 7. Engine whine through speakers 8. Engine whine through speakers 9. Drivers side seal on door faulty, possible Differential leak 10. Diff being fixed/replaced 11. Diff being fixed/replaced 12. 15,000km service. 13. Booked in to respray rust found on lower drivers side and passenger side door + rust on boot welds. Take into account this car was picked up on the 31st May 05.... Once all problems on the car are rectified, I will look elsewhere to service my car.
  10. No mention of the edit, but on the service print out there is a "Checked factory computer for outstanding campaigns and recalls" and "ECU Self test" My car is a May 05 build. The standard 15,000km service was $229.50 (ex gst), oil filter $15.12 (ex gst) Engine oil $52.00 (ex gst) sachet of washer solution $1.94 (ex gst) $298.56 (ex gst) They then charged me for replacing wiper inserts and wiper blades $40 Shop supplies $15 Environmental waste disposal $3.00 $356.56 (ex gst) = 3.....9...2..... (inc gst)
  11. Just got my car back.. 3...9..2.....dollars... I have the sorest ass in the world at the moment. God Bless Jefferson Ford for their rod of smite.... 1 good thing came out of it.. Some rust on the doors and boot is getting fixed under warranty..
  12. Yeah id much rather do the servicing myself aswell, but alas ive had the same problem as you. So I just grab a big jar of the slippery stuff and pucker up for the reaming I receive from Ford service centres. My car is in for the 15,000km service today.. Im expecting to pay $350 for mine.. :(
  13. They did the right thing.. They cant guarantee that you havent stuffed something up when you installed a majority of the components (which are part of the 45k service) What happens if you incorrectly installed your oil filter for instance (overtightend it, not tight enough etc) and oil goes everywhere, then engine seizes etc.. If that book has a 45k stamp on it, you have every right to walk back in and claim it as a warranty job.. Im sure they wouldnt want to cop the costs involved in a full engine transplant.

Unfortunately you wont find many listed parts on websites. Call up your local wreckers and ask for the parts you need. I had to source a new right hand mirror after having an arguement with a cement pole. New from FORD: $205 + installation 2nd Hand wreckers: $77... (I called a few wreckers and the price ranged from $65 - $100 so make sure you shop around)

fudge.. I thought "About time a XR6T was gassed.. Ill continue to wait till someone makes a decent kit.
  16. I did say half.. And yes, there is always going to be defects with products. Look at our beloved XR6T's... Least they refunded and resprayed.
  17. Novate leasing a ute = no FBT If the business owns the Ute = taxable item Business novates ute = pre tax and GST benefit heaven.

Somewhere between the start of production and the completion I would add in a product FORD knows nothing about.. Quality... O and a turbo gas version.
  19. Grats on getting one. Ill be getting one soonish. I wouldnt listen to half these clowns. They obviously dont realise you take it off after long distance travelling. Id rather have a nice looking car around town after ive taken it off, then have a sh*tty looking stone chipped car around town..
  20. Hes already tubbed it out.. He got another set of standard rims, cut and shunt them together.. His rears are like 13inch...
  21. hehe you made them look like 22's.. those rims are hot man, get them for sure <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hehe yeah Ive rechopped them to suit a more 19inch look. I cant wait to get them. Think they really suit a white car.
  22. Which pic mate? cant see one
  23. heres a rough chop I did on my car of the rims I plan to get. Konig Troubles - 19x8
