  1. im 6 foot 2 and have no issues with my head hitting the sunroof. Although it now explains the fact (because the lining is a few inches lower) that I felt I didnt have as much head room from when I drove a test car..
  2. Probably laugh.. Personally I think it looks horrible.. It doesnt flow with the back of the car at all. So long as you like it, that's the main thing..

Yes you are getting ripped. It should be about 1/2 what they have quoted you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hes not getting ripped off if he goes with the shocks aswell.. (which is what the quote is for) Anyhow: SL and SSL set will cost you $220 from just about any decent suspension shop. Should cost no more than $140 to install them. (takes them less than 1.5 hours to do it)

Well done! The 13.4L/100km is a bit high for highway use though? Mine does 10.0 - 10.4 sitting on 120 from Melbourne to Sydney.. maybe the hot day was what caused it?
  5. Take it off.. be somewhat different. As for those calling it rice for removing the wing... What do you call it from the factory? Factory Rice? geez....

  7. I would have written down the numberplate, called the cops and had him done for wreckless driving. He should have his license also taken for being a knob.

Cause its the 'drift look' Mine are also black (when I get them) but mainly because I wanted something to offset my white car.
  9. I tend to agree with you on some of what you said.. Apart from never buying that brand again.. Alot of technology advances have happened over the past 10 years in the automotive industry in regards to building better quality, higher standard parts in cars, unfortunately some lower quality parts still slip through QA testing bays... Also the latest update: Received a call to say the car is getting all of my problem resolved. I take it in this Friday and leave it with them for the week (while im in Bangkok). So hopefully around the 26th ill have some great news that everything was fixed with no outstanding issues!
  10. lowered, dark tint, no wing lowered, dark tint + wing in a pretty setting.

They are called GT stripes and unless it was a GT its a TRANNY <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Theres not an option for GT stripes at the Ford dealer I go to. They are called BA XR stripes.. ohnoes

Should be, unless some Ford quality issue has arisen.. IE: Sorry sir we forgot to put the engine in! Hopefully he will have taken some nice quality night shots for us. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hope not Bain!! but being a ford! but then agian it's FPV so it should be all good Dal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> true true.. Even though its Ford, it gets a proper inspection once it hits FPV's workshop Im wishing I got a F6 when there was the clutch problem (they were selling them so cheap!)

  15. Manual is great, all the options you have there are great (I didnt get the Luxo pack and im kicking myself now) If you prefer driving manuals, youll love the 6 speed. If you want a lazy car, then get an auto.

very nice zap.. Once you pick it up you need to book the following in to be done: Lower it Tint Remove the wing (hehe)
  17. Some of you guys sound proud of the fact youre alcoholics.. lol Im a conosieur of Beer, I like to try every type out there. When im not tasting new beers, I generally drink Belgium browns and trappist beers. Unfortunately its expensive (around $5 - $9 a bottle (250ml - 400ml)) so when I do drink them, I savour them and appreciated the effort gone into making them. Depending on how finances are from month to month I will drink maybe 2 a night (during weekdays) and maybe 10 or so over the course of a weekend. As it is atm, I havent had a beer in 3 weeks.. (we just payed for our trip to Bangkok) If im really hard up for a 'fix' ill pull out the Canadian club to have on ice with a dash of water. My good scotches rarely get touched.
  18. Small Update: Had a 10am meeting this morning with a Ford QA engineer at Jefferson Ford paint shop. Went over the whole car and showed him the issues. He was quite suprised with all the surface rust, and suspected metal filings to be the cause of this (when they put the sunroof in). On the door rust issue, he said that when the guys in the Factory put the cars together sometimes the paint can crack along the door where they bang the metal with the mallets? The guy took pics of everything and submitted it back to Ford to process. Ill find out within 2 days what they are going to do about it all and let everyone know. Jetute: I actually bought the T for the purpose of mods, but I have put all that on hold until I get all the issues sorted out.. Dont want ford blaming mods for the problems with the car.
  19. Its not illegal because of the glare on the reflectors. Its illegal because you dont have any spray jets to clean your lights which cause glare, nor does it have any auto position levelling which can be most annoying to oncoming traffic. (the light moves around because of the vibrations of the road) Unless you do alot of highway driving then there is no point to getting HID's as the current lights are sufficient for normal city road use. If you are that worried about not being bright enough. Buy some Premium Xenon Halogen – 50% Brighter White Light globes from your local SuperCrap Auto or Autobahn. P.S Id love to be a cop and defect all the current ricers out there with HID conversions in their cars.
  20. I would agree with you, but my previous car (Mitsubishi Magna VRX) never had this problem and my girlfriends car (which is never garaged - 93 TR Magna) doesnt have the problem either. Jo's car gets washed maybe once every 2 months.. This is deffinetely a paint quality and QA problem on Fords behalf.
  21. I live about 600 metres from it.. But having said that, the car has been washed almost every week. (defenitely every 2nd week) I have seen paint issues due to salt, this isnt a salt issue, this is under the clear coat.
  22. Put the stock tail lights back on.. In your new pictures you can see the black sides of the tail lights dont match the rest of the car. My thoughts: Paint the GT wing white Leave your stripes on Put your stock tail lights back in LOWER IT!
  23. Heres the pics of the paint and rust issues. The paint issue is where the intercooler gap is.. on both sides. O and I forgot to mention ive also has it in for the heatshield rattle from the gearbox area twice. (currently still not fixed) The rust actually runs all the way along the bottom of the doors. I couldnt get a decent shot of it all as its a pretty clouded day here atm in Melbourne. The spot rust *surface* goes all the way along the window seals.
  24. Howdy all, Well ive dont just on 18,000kms since I got my car on the 31st May 05. Heres a run down of the past few months for me. Picking up the car: Day 1: I couldnt believe I was taking ownership of an XR6T.. I had wanted one of these for a few years, but could never afford one. After the keys were handed over I drove out of the dealership only to discover a loud whistling noise. Turns out a grommet wasnt plugged in correctly in the engine bay.. 20 min inspection found that out. Once sorted I was so excited I clocked up 220kms on the car that night. Day 2: Loss in power. Having never owned a Turbo car before I took the car back into Ford to have it looked at. Intercooler hose had come off. 10 mins later all is fixed. Day 3: More loss in power - Intercooler hose had come off again. Back to Ford to fix it. Day 4: Once again, Intercooler hose has come off. They double clamp it. About a month after buying the car: All is good and I clock up 1500km in the car. Before driving off to Sydney (live in Melbourne) I think it a good idea to get the complimentary 3000km service done.. It costs me a few pennies to have them change the filter and oil. (to be on the safe side) Driving on long trips (Sydney) you tend to listen to your car a bit more (being new and having know about a few Quality issues with Fords). The passenger seat squeeks like crazy when a person moves on it, wind noise is annoyingly loud on the drivers side door and I also notice there is a whine coming through my speakers when I had my lights turned on. After I get back from Sydney, it goes back to Ford servicing to be looked at. Seat replaced and all is fine and dandy. Come back another day to have the whining problem looked at as they needed to get a replacement alternator and ICC. 3 replacement ICC's and 2 Alternators later and the problem is resolved for the whine. (After 4 more visits to Ford Servicing) 1 scratched window tint and the drivers side door seal is replaced. Which also resulted in me having to take more of my time out to get the window tint replaced (at their expense) At this point im starting to get rather annoyed at having bought this car.. Even though the problems have been pretty minor, its the amount of times ive had to take the car back in to have them fix it. All is good for about 2 months then I notice oil on my garage floor... At the back of the car.. Oh noes! Back into Ford service to have the top plate resealed on the diff. Take it home only to find the next morning, more oil on the garage floor! Back into Ford service to have it looked at again. This time the seal on the drive shaft wasnt properly... sealed.. So I get the car back and all is well again.. My confidence in the car and Ford has diminished somewhat. Roll forward to last week, Im a happy camper until I decide to wash and wax my car... I find what shouldnt be found in an 8 month old car.. RUST! that's right!! Rust on the inside of the drivers and passenger front doors. RUST on the boot welds, surface rust found under the seals along the doors running over the roof. And the front bar has a few spots where the machine hasnt even sprayed over the undercoat properly.. - I will post up pics later tonight when I get home of the rust problems - Im more dissapointed than angry now with this car.. I truly expected to get something of absolute quality for $47,900 After speaking to the service manager, I have booked in an appointment to see a Ford Service guy (direct from Ford) to have the rust and paint quality looked at. (10am Tuesday) So in total, ive been back to the service department around 12 times in 8 months (not including my 1500km and 15000km service) The question that is on my mind is.. Do I cut my losses and trade in and jump camps to something European... Although seeing as Ive only had the car for 8 months ill lose a substantial amount on trade in.. Thanks for Reading..
  25. White is gooooooooooood, but alot of the colours are good. Mercury silver, black, red, shockwave the list goes on. Chose a colour youre happy to see everyday of your life for the next few years.... Heres some pics of a white one.. I was playing around with removing the wing when I took these pics, Ford decided to overtighten the bolts and fudged up the bootlid
