Good for a laugh at their expense but f*ck me its embarrassing to be driving the same make of car as them. Might have to put 'fpv' badges over the ford logos on my typhoon to distance myself from them. Oh wait.... Some of them have fpv badges on their n/a 6's. morons!!

New fuel filter wouldn't hurt. Who knows when it was done last. Perhaps some fresh diff oil and bleed the brakes. Both cheap and easy to do

Go with what Buf-Phoon and I have suggested and you'll be fine. Take your time trawling through ebay, Gumtree and the various Facebook pages for second hand parts and you should be able to pick up a good brand intercooler with piping for around $1000. A new high flow cat wasn't cost too much however I have seen factory dump pipes with a high flow cat sell for $200 on ebay before. Saves you cutting and welding your current one. Fuel pump I would buy new just for reassurance. They aren't too dear anyway. Talk to your tuner before buying injectors as they all have their preferences when it comes to tuning. Plus some tuners will charge you to have the injectors flow matched if you haven't purchased the injectors through them. First and foremost I would be swapping your turbo oil feed line to an 'earls' one with the external filter.

You might want to invest in a better cooler if you want consistent power too

Being a post 06/06 xr6t, your internals can handle 400rwkw depending on who tunes it. It's your ZF that I'd be worried about. Big dollars there if you want it built to last.

$350 is pretty good but keep in mind that different intercoolers require different piping arrangements. So it's probably best if you purchase your intercooler first. Have you decided on what power level your after and or what your budget is? Knowing those two things will make it easier to give advice. I was just assuming that your on a minimal budget.

Turbo back exhaust is definitely better. It is not necessary though unless you start chasing bigger figures. I only suggested a high flow cat as you have mentioned that your on a budget. Same goes with the battery relocation and aftermarket piping; good for big figures but not necessary for basic mods. Unfortunately tight budget and big power do not go hand in hand. Turbo back exhausts and 4inch intakes will bring you well north of 300rwkw (with the right supporting parts). This is also where things start to get expensive. The stock exhaust and stock crossover will be fine for 300rwkw which I reckon will be perfect for your situation. It's a sweet spot that is relatively 'safe' these days and shouldn't give you any major problems That's just my opinion anyway.

Your mate seems very vague in his advice so I would suggest that you do some thorough research yourself so that you can decide what will work best for you. If your on a tight budget then here would be my list of mods: - intercooler. Nizpro, Plazmaman 800hp-1000hp or PW stg 2 will do. - high flow cat with standard exhaust. - Siemens 60lb injectors. Ideally ID1000's though - Larger fuel pump is a must. That should net you in the region of 300rwkw keeping you and your ZF happy for a while. Hop under your car and physically check the diff bush for cracks and tears. Also check to see if it has an aftermarket oil feed line to the turbo as the factory line has a filter near the block that clogs up. It has most likely been sorted on a car with your milage though unless its on its third turbo by now...

Hey guys. Anyone know where the best place to pick up new gaskets for a twin 2.5 inch system? The twin pipe gaskets don't seem like an item that any old exhaust shop would carry. Also, I'm sure I've read this before but I can't seem to find the right thread at the moment; do you need a gasket between the dump pipe and turbo housing? Im in Melbourne by the way. Thanks

Comparing apples with oranges here, but I towed a 1200kg caravan around Australia with my old au falcon on ssl king springs. The stiffer springs made it handle the weight much better than the standard setup.
