  1. I love it when people give good honest feedback on things rather than just saying what they have is best. Thanks Gaz.
  2. I used auto glym super resin polish with the hand applicator pads (fabric ones seem to work better than the sponge ones). Great stuff! Did two coats per panel and three coats on the roof, boot and bonnet. It repels water so well now that even in this sh*t weather that we have been seeing in Melbourne, my car still looks spotless. The paint was already in good condition so I didn't have to use a cutter. But if your paint is feeling a bit 'rough' I highly recommend the meguires fine cutter before the polish. I usually use the mothers wax that comes in the round tin after the polish. But last Sunday I got lazy and went for a drive instead as waxing is another whole day job.
  3. Unfortunately my typhoon mustn't have gotten the nos option from factory.
  4. I believe old mate Nicholas Cage has a similar looking button on his gear knob.
  5. Sounds the same but here's a photo anyway. You'd be right about my backup battery. I doubt it's ever been changed.
  6. After yesterday's marathon of polishing, today I just drove the f*cker.
  7. The alarm on mine is up near the brake booster and has the fpv logo on it. It also makes a noise when disconnecting the battery but it isn't too loud and dies off in a few seconds.
  8. Your relos are in for some more fun than you. Every year my mate gets to house sit his family friend's place. All we do is empty their fridge and add vomit stains to the carpet. House would be much better off being left empty for a couple weeks
  9. There have been many days (mostly rainy ones) that I wish I went with silver. Always want what you don't have aye. But today I am enjoying the ego.
  10. Turned my car into a mirror today Even takes selfies now!
  11. Yeah a little bit too far to travel for a couple weights. Thanks for the thought anyway though mate. We might meet up at a cruise one day though. Hopefully by which time I'll have the vibration sorted.
  12. If you already have a girlfriend or a good sense of fashion you can skip on the costume tune
  13. They said it only takes an hour. Wilko is right, they have a special tool that can balance it whilst its still in the car. They did say though that sometimes they can't get it balanced properly on the car so they take the shaft out and send it to someone else. I might ring up a few places like hardy spicer to get a couple of quotes. I reckon it should only take an hour even with taking the drive shaft out. I'm a hack mechanic and I know it would take me 15 mins max to get it out. I'm in mount martha mate
  14. Well today after work I tried a few different combinations with the weights but to no success. I decided to go with what Wilko suggested but instead of putting her up on car stands, I loosened the mounting bolts so the bearing could freely move and I took it for a drive around the block. Got back and tightened it up and took it for another spin. Big difference there! Still a bit of a shudder between 50-60 but less harsh than what I was getting before. So now I'm not sure if I should get the tailshaft balanced still or put it down to the characteristics of the new bearing. I went into mornington ford today and they said that it will cost me $160 to get her balanced up which I thought was reasonable by ford standards. I'll probably get her balanced up just for peace of mind and cop it on the chin if it is the bearing.
  15. I got mine through bearing wholesalers in dandenong and it was only $70 so it wouldn't surprise me if its causing the issue. Splines and weights are all where they should be so ill check if the bearing all lines up properly after work tonight. It's funny that the old bearing that I replaced had completely torn out of the rubber housing and had about 30mm of movement yet it didn't send any vibrations through the driveline at speed. Used to only thud on take off.
