I was overtaking a Logging truck on the hume last week when a small 30omm x 40mm branch fell off and came straight for me. As there was a car beside and behind me, all I could do was swear a lot. It bounced once or twice and then bang..... a small mark on the lower sentre section of the bar and a wooden spear sticking out of the lower grille. Lucky it was an F6 with a grill or I would have had a hunk of wood stuck through my intercooler.

You never know.... Ford might have to make the BF2 something special, as they are still behind dunnydoor sales, even with the old soon to be superseded model.

That said I got a bonnet sent from Sydney to Canberra last year for $50 via TNT and it was in a big carboard box with cardboard tubing cut longitudinally along each side and it arrived in as new condition. So it can be done.

No not quite. Australian trade practices allow a 'new' car to be damaged, for example perhaps backing it off the transporter, and up to 4 entire panels can be repaired or replaced without having to inform the buyer. Why do you think most dealers also own a panel shop? 4 panels is a lot of damage..

As I understand it the biggest draw back is the poor ground clearance, combines with plastic bash plates on the bottom of the car. Not to mention no low range or centrediff lock. So it would always be a VERY mild offroad setup. The Territory is a very soft roader, most of the ones I have seen that have modified suspension have actually been lowered.. :hiwelcome: You probably should have bought something starting with a P....Patrol, Pathfinder, Pajero, Prado.

Because the OHS nancy's do not permit Ford employees to drive at more than 120Km/h on public roads (remember reading that whilest testing a GT in the NT they were overtaken by a grandpa in a Camry....towing a trailer) As a result they are only tested at speed on the proving ground in Vic, so are not designed to be driven at high speed for hours in the NT's heat. At least that's what I remember reading somewhere on this place.
