Another WA guy ! I had 2" blocks in my ute and they were horrible so I went resets and the blocks are now sitting in my garage gathering dust. If you want more than 2" at the back, then maybe 1" blocks and a reset. If you lower the front much, be prepared for a camber kit unless you can afford new front tyres every year. I highly recommend WA Suspensions in Ozzie park. They will not bullsh*t you and give great service. As for horsepower, have a look in the +300 and +400 sections to see what others are doing. Also look in the WA Section for monthly cruises so we can meet you and SteveR can show you his mad precision parking skills.

Hahaha yeah

They come with the PWR ZF heat exchanger kit.

Tonight- ABC 8.30 - Upper Middle Bogan. Comedy about a drag racing family. Could be worth a watch

I'm planning to go for a look.

Was telling the boys at the cruise the other night that a bloke I work with just had his 6spd VE Senator supercharged by active auto's. Asked him today how its going. 568hp at the treads makes him a happy man !!

Snap a few wheel studs off till they fit. (could be a bit wobbly) Otherwise, sell them and buy the right wheels.

06/09/13 (Pm) Steve's Done All The Work Cruise
Boganspeed replied to Ralph Wiggum's topic in Western Australia
Probably be up for it. October so far away ! -
Good point Raband, I recently saw a guy ride out of a dealer on his brand spanking new speed triple and nearly high side it as he peeled to the right out onto the road and opened the throttle just a touch. I have no doubt he would have bruised plums from that little episode. Senna T, order of the day with a new tyre is to gradually weave side to side a little more each time to scrub the tyre surface in and remove the preserving compound off it. Once you've done a little weaving then just lean a little more on each bend until you've got as much of the surface scrubbed in as you can use on the bike.

Congrats on paying the car off Steve !! That deserves a skid to celebrate.

Yeah I always go soft on the front. A battleax will do the job great. You'll lever the tyre off the ground with the under carriage before you run out of cornering grip and the Hyo brakes won't present any challenges for it. I go through two and a half to three rear tyres to each front so a soft front will easily last the time you'll own the bike.

Making My Car 'drag Strip' Ready.
Boganspeed replied to AzMahoony's topic in Drag and Circuit Racing
Aaron, the tune is to extend the life of the box so I won't know if its worthwhile for a few years I'd say. One thing is for sure though, it's a compromise in driving quality and you lose the smooth shifts in favour of having the clutches lock up harder and it thumps through the gear changes. I'm not in love with it. -

make sure you get the NT05's nice and hot to release the sticky goodness. Go to Final Drive Eng in O'Connor for the tail shaft. -
For male retail therapy, you need to visit Automotive Paint, Tools and Equipment in Gibbs Rd Cannington, right near the railway line. We've always called it "The Toy Shop" and it is full to the absolute brim with every workshop tool and accessory you could ever need, and about a hundred thousand that you probably never will. The prices are not real cheap but it makes for a manly shopping experience that far exceeds a lap around Supercrap Auto's. Take the missus or the credit card, but not both. I went there today looking for some hose clamps and left with bag of rags, a thread repair set, a hose spring a d the clamps. So you can guess which one I took with me Only open till midday Saturdays though but absolutely worth a look. You wouldn't believe shops like this still exist these days.

Whether its important or not, and discounting that different dynos will read differently, people want to be able to compare their numbers (and investment) to others to see if their results are on par for the mods done. Correctly or not, just like 400, 300 is seen as a milestone and people want to hit that milestone to know they've hit the mark for their investment and if not, why and whether its worth going after that milestone. Lets face it, we all have penises and whether we admit it or not, we all like to know that our pen*s is at least as big as the next guy's. Mine is small, but quite pretty.
-
Yeah was good fun, a bit of rain kept the numbers down but it was still good. The highlight for me was Steve's precision parking demonstration. It was amazing at the final stop where the lighting in the car park made it look like the rain was falling on Steve's car and nowhere else. I took this as a sign from above and immediately went home and sacrificed a chicken. Well..... a mars bar, but you get the idea.

I have some strange banging noise coming from the back of my ute too. Been on the hoist a few times and I can't find it. I think it's suspension related but all looks tight. It's bloody frustrating. Yay for ford quality.

My new Manta 2 x 3" zorst keeps thumping the floor of my ute. Thought it was sorted but no, so back to XFT today to try and sort it before the cruise tonight. Great excuse to knock off early on Friday too !! Will also borrow a spanner while its on the hoist as something is banging around in the rear end so will check spring bush pins and u-bolts etc. Hopefully it's a loose spare wheel or something stupid. Finally, I'll see if they found out how to turn my speed limiter off for dyno pulls. Had to run it up in third, got wheel slip and "only" got to 391kw. Although the power is the power and the low reading makes no difference to it in real life. It'd just be nice to tick the 400 box for impressing the kids down at the milk bar.

That's peaked pretty early. Besides the boost going away, what about valve springs ?

Gone to a surge tank Aaron ?

W A Two Day Mega Cruise! 21-22 Sept 2013
Boganspeed replied to discostig's topic in Western Australia
I have ! I'll go for a drive regardless. Don't forget, it's a lot easier to cancel a room you don't need than try to book a room they don't have. -
Forecast seems to indicate rain Friday, then clearing for Friday night, then rain again Saturday. Rev Bevin, did you have anything to do with that ?
-
In. See through clothes for sure.
-
Thank Chris, turns out that the GTX and dump pipe don't allow the top rear and bottom shields to bolt together anymore. I just cut a tab to join the two up. Haven't run it yet but I'm sure that's sorted it.
-
So I just changed out the coolant in the ute and found my new engine bay rattle is coming from where the heat sheild has lost a few bolts. Will let the car cool and have a proper look and replace them. In the meantime, I want to lift the tank off the Gixer, remove the plenum chamber, fuel rail, remove throttle bodies, drill out injector seats to suit my new injector arrangement, remount it all, make up some straps to stop the lot from lifting under boost. Remove the top of the internal blow off valve and make a sealing plate to f*ck that off, then pressurise the whole thing and go looking for boost leaks. So yeah, my day is looking pretty busy, but instead, I'm sitting here on my phone and not even looking at tits !
