  1. Mate, get metro to give consent for the repair in writing. You might feel like an ass demanding it... but all they need to do is say "I don't know what your talking about" afterwards and it ends in tears.
  2. Do you have the plastic protective film on them? New set would be expensive. There are products that can help this anyway - try some Meguires Plastic X from Supercheap. Used to work on my skyline.
  3. I say go for it man. Nothing to lose. Just admit you were in the wrong, but you are really apologetic and you will en-devour to to prevent it from re-occurring. Explain that you are proud of having a clean slate, and would like to keep it that way.
  4. I was meaning along the lines of the locking mechanism attached to the tub (if you get a hard lid installed). I presume there must be wiring connected to each side? Or is it like a brake cable or something?

Very good report - I would recommend using that same inspector for your next choice. Out of all the cars I have purchased, the last one I looked at was always the best!
  6. Hey buddy. I live country and do a fair few pot hole excursions. The ride is kinda stiff - but that comes with all sports suspension I think. Its not the type of stiffness that causes body pain though. I feel the soft seats help largely with that. Main thing you want to consider is the Diff - and its many problems.
  7. I'm in the same boat - But have heard that Repco sell them and can find out the correct thread size too.
  8. I am in the same boat - I will probably just use the cig +12v inline with a potentiometer. Then ill just manually adjust to the dim level because I don't really change the brightness very often. As for the Negative - I personally will just be using the same as the cig lighter (can't see any problems doing so).
  9. Nice work buddy! Very helpful.
  10. Yeah man - It's normal and its really not worth trying to fix. Almost all cars get it and its just an excuse to crank the tunes.
  11. Thanks for the update bud. Let us know how the diff replacement is - I might push for this at my dealership if it is any better.

I was the same mate. These cars are good bang for your buck, but they aren't designed for the specs.
  13. Thanks for posting your product codes Tim. I see you went for the full sweep with all of them? Can you get Metric with the Oil temp in full sweep? Or you don't mind the Fahrenheit?
  14. Thanks for that guys - I will probably buy from him then seeing as he has a good reputation from you guys, and he also has the oil temp in metric which is a bonus.
  15. 6159 $164.59 6127 $72.81 6148 $46.84 Aprox. & Without postage (bundled postage is cheaper).
  16. The SS gauge holders sound like they are not far off! So I thought I would start a topic for the people buying Autometer cobalt gauges to share (preferably in product codes) what gauges they will be purchasing, and where from. I also thought that if we find there are members buying the same gauges, from the same place, a group buy or something could make things cheaper? My list: 1x AUTOMETER COBALT ELECTRIC 2 1/16" 30 PSI BOOST/VAC GAUGE 6159 1x AUTOMETER COBALT ELECTRIC OIL PRESSURE GAUGE 6127 1x AUTOMETER COBALT ELECTRIC OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE 6148 From: Ebay store - PERFORMANCE R-US.
  17. That'd be great mate. I just wanna see if its something that I will get pissed off with and throw a tanty... or it'll be worth the effort. They do look a lot nicer Does yours have the remote lock? If so, without the lid on, do you have any waterproof problems with the latches?
  18. Thanks for the reply. When the dog goes places, the Missus usually goes too - So I guess that would help with the lifting. How are the hinges held in? Just a pin the gets pulled in and out? Is the lid heavy or is it easily handled? I agree the soft top is more practical, but I'm getting agitated with the buffeting sound it makes at 100klmph... and it looks like; PLUS: It would be VERY handy to actually lock my tools and target rifles in the back.
  19. ATT: FG ute owners I am very interested in purchasing a hard lid for my Xr6t 50th ute, but I would like to know after it is installed, how hard it is to take the lid off and put it back on again. EGR state that the lid is fitted with easy release hinges - But I would like to hear off someone with first hand experience how "easy" it is. To add to this, I was wondering if the remote central locking and any lighting would complicate things more? We have a dog and it regularly gets carted from A to B so taking the lid on and off will be frequent. Thanks in advance, Gus.!
  20. My cruise works fine out of 6th. Make sure you have NO pressure on the clutch when trying to apply cruise - the limit switch is VERY sensitive.
  21. Hahah my mistake. Didn't even notice the dates. But if my bush's go, that will be my plan of attack.
  22. Thanks for the advice guys. Seems like I am on the right track but I might add a sealant as well. Should I be using a wash and then a wax? Or will wash and wax give the same effect, and then wax over it?.... if that makes sense
  23. Frosty - Perhaps you can supply the bush but get the dealer to fit em (free of charge)? Just a thought
  24. To all detailing nuts - this thread probably isn't for you! I was just wanting to know what the best time effective car wash is. Some people enjoy spending hours cleaning their car with a toothpick, but I can't stand it!!! I do agree that your pride and joy shouldn't be taken to Joe's multipurpose brush and scratch car wash. I'm after a good finish, with minimal time spent. Currently I use: Household water Meguiars Wash and Wax Meguiars Microfiber mit - to apply wash and remove dirt / bugs Meguiars Shammy - to finish Whole things takes about 1 - 1.5 hours. It does the job but I think the finish could be better / more waxed effect. I have seen these "waterless" kits but I think my car gets far to dirty to use them. Are there any other products out there that do a great job but don't take away any precious beer time? Cheers!.
