  1. Congratulations. I think your Expensive Daewoo mates may be in for a bit of a surprise after the tune The fuel economy should remain fairly similar from my experience as long as you don't put your foot down
  2. Photos will be fine.
  3. /me waits with anticipation
  4. Would that be with some 42lb injectors?
  5. Would the turbo even need controlling? I thought they max out somewhere around there..
  6. Small update: After running the factory plenum for some time now I have gone back to my "ugly plenum" (flat-top built on original chopped runners but with a paint job). It runs at least as well without a re-tune and there is a load more space under the bonnet. I actually think it runs better with faster response but will wait for the dyno results. I am also running a boost gauge now and I can see where the boost spikes so I can avoid those situations. The round one didn't work out, I think because the runners aren't as long so the sweet spot would be too high in the rev range.
  7. Actually...saying that, a few jumps before my last jump I watched a guy bounce. That may have contributed to my giving it up but I also got a family and a house. Did about 170 jumps so the buzz was wearing off anyway. SCUBA, horse riding and open road cycling are apparently far more risky. But like they say.... if at first you don't succeed don't take up skydiving.
  8. That looks pretty awesome. I'm sure he can tension his wings for a little more lift if need be. The woman that used to repair my parachute did base jumping. Her last jump was to see if her mate who went first was ok. He didn't make it. Had an off heading opening into the side of the building a couple of hundred feet up. Skydiving on the other hand is fairly safe
  9. I agree Impellor, seems like the filter or line blocking completely is the main culprit. My oil supplier recommends using a good full synthetic oil to avoid coking in the line so I will be taking his advice since he is letting me have it cheap
  10. Must be fairly hard on the fuel consumption. At 110 I'm doing ~1700rpm with my ZF. It still pulls fine.
  11. I have an LM2 but I think the Xcal3 can log if you have one?
  12. I had to cancel my insurance because of my budget. I only have third party, fire and theft so I hope some knob doesn't do that to me. I try to park near expensive "insured looking" cars. I nearly rear ended a guy the other day on the way to work who stopped on a straight stretch of country road for a bird crossing
  13. The full stainless steel Xforce 3.5" with 5" cat and 4" dump was $1500 nzd ($1,155 aud) so there must be some wiggle room on that (I did ask for a trade price though I'm not in the trade). That's further than Perth for freight. But the rest of that second price looks good apart from the Xcal3 and tune.
  14. I would like to know the answer to the heading, which style of plenum is better and why. FG style or front entry. All and any opinions will be appreciated
  15. I had a similar issue with my tuned BF which probably doesn't help you guys. I ended up changing the idle settings a little. There is a place in the idle section where revs can be altered for a certain amount of time on cold start-up. eg: add 50 rpm for 10 seconds if below 50 degrees. If it's put in gear during that time it will add the 50 revs to the "in gear idle speed" and it may be trying to meet other parameters at the same time. I suppose you really want to know why it didn't do it before but does it now
  16. It's easy to get off. All you need is a 3/8" strong arm bar from your socket set to release the tension on the tensioner (no actual bolts to undo). I spent a while trying to put a new belt on once because I took no notice of how it came off and they are a long belt with lots of possible ways to go on.
  17. Just remember how the belt goes on
  18. Could also be an alternator bush...
  19. And dress like you're poor and lose any bling
  20. Is this for the strip or around town?
  21. Name: Chris Age: 45 Sex: Male Location: Beachlands, Auckland NZ Occupation: Precision and hydraulic and general engineer Drive: BF2 Sedan Auto as in sig Next car: FG T? Married: yes Children: Son 12yrs and daughter 10yrs and a stepson 22yrs going on 4yrs.
  22. If it's not to do with the tune it could be the O2 sensor for closed loop running.
  23. Do you have a way of logging stuff while driving?
  24. I can't remember exactly but I remember not thinning the metal too much in that area when doing the porting. eg: more visible with the turbo removed.
