Truetrac Free Play How Much Is Acceptable ?
unclewal replied to FPVF6355's topic in Driveline Workshop
that's good to know and poor form from the supplier not to atleast suggest oil as a change. I will be investing in a TrueTrak this year due to being sick of single wheeling after only 50K on the factory LSD. Glad your experience is now what it should be. -
Will do tomorrow at the office and I wont be home in daylight hours to get decent photos.

Ok so slight change of plans, I ended up keeping the existing PW twin pump setup I had and just making all new PTFE -6 lines. All up it cost me $280 not including all new aluminuim spanners (adjustable), the vice jaws and the shears that will cut your damn hand off should you get it in the way.Consisted of all new 200 series ptfe fittings with olives, braided stainless line with black nylon weave cover. The smell of fuel has completely gone which I am well impressed with. I had a few minor changes I needed to make as Aero Flow fittings are slightly longer than the MSCN fittings but nothing major. I am still yet to redo all the rubber lines with Greensheild E85 compliant lines but that will happen after next pay day. Just thought I would update all those that were interested I purchased all this gear from Rocket Industries (cash sale) I simply emailed them a list of what I needed they responded with a quote and then I picked them up the following Saturday. Took me about 4 hours with stuffing around with the fittings not being as tight a radius as the last fittings, but I worked it all out. These PTFE fittings are pretty easy to make up and fit if you have the right tools and follow the instrucitons. All in all a happy camper and no more fuel smell.

Kev from process west was saying the drum of E85 44 gallon was $500 -
I found the wiring for the audio plug was being damaged by the gear selector, take the surround off and tape it up and re-route it the correct way and I have no whine any more in the ute, ford tried to tell me some BS about my fuel pumps causing it, but I found the problem a few months back and fixed it.

How Much Power Everyone Making On Standard Fg Turbo Bottom End

455/409 valve springs +1 -
I have twin 2.5 and making 455+ no problems, but in saying that back pressure was tested to be 7psi. For noise it is perfect, nice and quite but still a little bit of noise. In all honesty all you can hear is the intake, the exhaust rarely draws attention and I have been through 3 breathalysers this week alone and the cops are more intrigued by the buzzing of my twin pumps as opposed to the exhaust. It all depends on what you want your car to do and how you will drive it and how much attention you wish to draw. To answer your questions regarding noise it will depend on the material you use either stainless or mild and what mufflers are incorporated into the system, I have found that 3.5 is louder as opposed to 2.5. That is comparing my car to the workshops car that had a 3.5inch and mine running a 2.5. Again all comes down to system and muffler setup. As for a tune being required, some say yes some say no, personal I would say yes unless you want your investment on an exhaust to give you a headache later on when your car runs poorly or has poor fuel economy and continues to throw engine lights. There will be some people that will say "nope had an exhaust for 10 years never got it tuned, runs fine". From my point of view, anything that changes flow or intake/exhaust velocity will require atleast a AFR check to make sure its behaving and not going to harm your car. Hope this helps you.

Lol ^^^^ this guy ^^^^ I would be looking for screw holes along the dash for mounting of lights and computers, same on the console, a really worn drivers seat right hand side wing, from continual in and out of the car. Also check for this in the boot, there would be more unused holes in the boot where they mount the extra battery and all the telemetary and recording gear.

Good flow is definately important for 400+kw, it can be done on less, but just means the engine is working harder to produce that power. Manta Twin 3" would be very nice. Owmuchezzit? and owloudezzit?

Honestly graphs are useful but its how you drive it that counts and how it feels as a day to day car. They can smooth a graph to look like a babies bum and make you more frustrated because the car will still not drive how you like it.For the now forget the graphs, you arent being a tool, go back and explain what you mean and better still show them.

If you arent happy with the tune take it back, take the tuner for a drive and explain what you do not like. Have you spoken to him about it at all?
-
Purchase stuff in stages, get all your stages together then pull the pin on a custom tune/s, save lots of money and you will end up alot futher ahead, speaking for a few $$ spent on tunes, research research research, check and double check.

If Mick is your mechanic, do your home work and when you have wasted your time go back to him and listen to what he has to say, he is a straight shooter and will spend the time to explain and fix your problems.

Awesome news, Ben is a good bloke and does great work, glad I could help put you in contact. Enjoy !
-
Had it happen a few times, disconnect battery, wait 30 mins, reconnect. Start car, turn AC on (temperatute doesnt matter), do not drive the car for a few mintues, then drive away as normal and you should be good to go.

Bore scope? have a look around in there and see if there is actually anything in there that shouldn't be.

When you say damaged spark plug, how is it damaged? Broken, bent ?

+1 for pitlane, drove 1000kms to get a tune there and car has not missed a beat since -
$69 plus freight,so all up delivered it was $81. Already got 2 mates lined up to borrow it this weekend, think it might pay for itself. One thing I think they should include in the kit is a syringe so you can suck out some of the nasty stuff from the bottom of the reservoir to save having to pump it through, although you could just drop the bleeder head in there and suck it out that way I guess.
-
Just bled the entire system some nasty coloured stuff came out, no dramas with the fit, maybe when they age it might be a different story but I think overall not a bad bit of kit, I held the hose just to be sure, but the fluid flowed quite well so long as you open the bleeder up enough, took about an hour including wash up and test drive as my air compressor tank is quite small and the compressor overheated and stopped. With a bigger tank and the bleeders open flat out could have had alot quicker, I was just being cautious not to run the reservoir dry.

air powered one man speed bleeder, cheap and delivered in a day, now to get that fkn clutch bled and the brakes
