  1. Averaging 9.8 litres at 60km average speed. In the middle of summer. Cheers
  2. Good Luck mate you'll need it. Generic tunes are a guess at best. Unfortunately due to the many varying factors, usually a poor one. Cheers
  3. No need for reg with 255lph. By the way you will need a gss340. All Walbro 's the same (255lph pumps anyway) but different pump configuration (that's what the numbers indicate) Cheers
  4. Fairly sure(from memory) the factory pump is a 190 lph item. Cheers
  5. KPM, I wonder if you could highlight area's of our Falcon that require attention . For example is the plastic fuel tank suitable. Cheers
  6. Interesting topic Fluffy. But I do fear at times unemployed people are sterotyped. As there are many people actively seeking a job, that just isn't there for them. But I thought we may have some economists that could shed some light on, what Karl Marx referred to "labour surplus". Please allow me to give you some insight on how a Capitalist Society operates , and the importance of a labour surplus. Centrelink, and welfare payments play a crucial role in maintaining and controlling a capitalist society. Firstly I will talk about the unemployed. Marx spoke of the importance within a capitalist economy to control labour costs. It was considered that having a reasonable number of people unemployed, it assisted and played a very important role in keeping the price of labour to a minimum. Cleary this is working, as we have seen the price of petrol almost double in the last 10 years. Labour cost, barely moved. Minimum (adult) wage in QLD is $15.41 per hour. The other benefit is reduced crime witin society. Now the last thing any Government wants is revolution or anarchy. So by giving payments to the unemployed, we redude crime dramatically. The reduction in crime also takes pressure off the Criminal Justice system (which is expensive, remember there are lawyers involved), and prison system ($57000 pa per prisoner). So at the end of the day unemployed people will always be apart of society, and play a very useful role for the Capitalist, and middle classes. But lets not forget that being unemployed is not a lifestyle, its an existence. Unfortunately, many abuse the system and these are the ones we target in our sterotyping views and attitudes. As far as Indigenous people are concerned, I feel there will never be enough we can do to help these people. We came with our superior weaponary, and raped, pilaged, dislocated, stole their children, made them live in places we didn't want to. And then be sure that they don't recieve appropriate education. We devastate their world, they turn to alcohol to self medicate (due to the major fark over). Then we call them bums. I can assure you, if you were in the same set of circumstances, you would be sitting in the same place, drinking the very same goon. Liberalism is underpinned on the idea that you can do what every you want, you are free. What they didn't tell you, is that this is only the case if you have the money to pay for it (family wealth, education etc). Which is proven to be true, with the OJ Simpson court case fiasco. Cheers
  7. Model/s BF II Year 2007 Oil Feed line filter installed/type Factory with filter removed BOV fitted Yes/No No BOV Type Stock KM's on Turbo @ failure or current KM's 63000km's. No filter or BOV for 13000km's Intake mods (ie UBP/Intercooler/pipework) CAI(DIY) ,K&N filter Monza 10.260cm3 Intercooler Average boost pressure over the life of the turbo 5PSI Cheers
  8. That ladies and gentleman somes it up perfectly. Nizpro are leading devlopment with these particular cars for a reason. The link below supports what Ralphie is saying. And 10 years on still rings true. I believe the key to Simon's research lays with the fact that an Engine Dyno, and Turbo Tacho were used for testing. I personally approached Nizpro on this very subject, and even after all this time, and some massive boost being produced. They stated that they have never seen premature wear from a BOV removal. Saying that wear patterns would be located in differing positions on the shaft, if a BOV removal was the culprit. http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Nizpros-Simon-Gishus-Part-2/A_1457/article.html Cheers, and Happy New Year to all.
  9. What your not getting your head around is the fact that once the T/B is closed, there are no longer opposing forces on the shaft. All that is occurring is the air is being chopped by the impeller (cavitation). Go and blow into a pedestal fan. You will hear a similar noise.Do you believe that by blowing into your fan you are going to wear it out? As there are far greater forces on the shaft when on full boost ( as the turbo is now being subjected to creating pressurised air, opposing forces are now in play), which will wear it out quicker than anything else. Now onto the subject that we should be discussing. By ceramic coating the rear turbine housing you are retaining a greater amount of heat. This is benefical for creating faster spool up. Because more heat equates to higher thermal energy, which in turn produces faster gas flow. Remember it is heat, not flow that spools a turbo. Cheers
  10. Red R6. As a new member may I just highlight something that is very important. When Ralphie talks, you listen. What he is saying is correct. What he says in general is correct. So lets look at it this way. You are in your first semester doing, XR6 Turbo 101. And Ralphie is doing his PHD, and by the way, Ralphie is also your lecturer. So good to ask questions, to a point. Then its time to listen. The difference with the above is compressor "cavitation" which is a different phenomenon to "surge" Cheers
  11. Red R6, welcome aboard mate. But I already have an awareness, that you have little understanding. I suggest you don't believe everything you read. Maybe talk about how ceramic coating improves thermal velocity. Cheers
  12. Get a bigger "O" ring, for god sake don't crush the tube Cheers.
  13. Here's a bargain. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XR6-Turbo-FG-BA-BF-ID750-Injectors-/251204092077?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7cee40ad Cheers
  14. My question is how many hours of tuning has gone into your car. I suspect this may be the secret to success. Congratulations Danny, always good to see a "built not bought". Cheers
  15. Will not fit FG, full stop (too long). Cheers
  16. Thanks IH8TOADS and Mick for you input. I suspected it could be an issue. I will follow your advice. Thanks very much.
  17. Panda you have just passed Thermodynamics 101. Well done. You would have marked higher if you could have given the % factor that black allows for heat release. Cheers
  18. Caloundra is 2m above sea level, Toowoomba is 700m. Cheers
  19. Merry Christmas Henry. Mate how hard was it to do, and how good does it look. As I think that the chrome is somewhat out of place myself. Cheers
  20. I am thinking that it should just be an algorthim in the tune. Such as X air = X fuel @ X RPM. Cheers
  21. Merry Christmas to all. As I am now looking into tuning in the very near future, I was hoping I could get some opinions/feedback on whether tuning at altitude would affect the outcome. I recently spoke to Jamie at Forced Performance Tuning and found him to be a knowledgable and general nice guy. Who clearly has the runs on the board. But I was speaking to a good friend who competes in a circuit racing series, with a high level of success. Anyway he proceeded to tell me that cars that were being tuned in Toowoomba, were having difficulties with the tunes once they were being ran at willowbank, due to the difference in altitude. This did make some sense, but I thought that I would put it out there for debate. As he (friend) isn't really experienced with turbo cars, and the Ford ECU's. So I am wondering if I would be better getting my car tuned at RDP as it is much closer to the coast, as I'm only 5 minutes to the beach. Cheers
  22. Couldn't agree more. I also don't think the FG plenum is so great. But a sh*tload cheaper to manufacture. Cheers
  23. I understand your interest. But a test like this is not something that I'm interested in. Because I'll be farked if I'm pulling my car apart to see if its an improvement over yours. I have no doubt its an improvement (but as I have previously stated "I'm not sure how much"). When tuning I'm certain we will see anyway. Go buy one, and port and polish it. If you couldn't be bothered, just go aftermarket. Always pays to do your own R&D anyway. Cheers
  24. Mate there's a couple hours in pulling off and replacing. My advice to you is get hold of a plenum and start grinding. Some of the feedback is that you will also make some torque lower in th rev range. Also have a look at your T/B and sand the rear smooth. Cheers
  25. No labour mate. All done by myself, except exhaust, and the $150 included labour. Cheers
