  1. You know it's full of sh*t after the opening paragraph... "As a valued customer" I spent over 100k in 2 years, and all I heard is, yes sir it normally takes 2 weeks to replace a turbo, yes sir the gearbox noise is normal, yes sir the autogearbox not shifting automatically is normal, normal this normal that. Valued customer my arse...

You wont get mid range tyres in that price bracket...
  4. Was just talking about one of mine on the cruise yesterday... New XR6 Turbo, wet weather, hairpin and a very stupid driver behind the wheel = rear bumper and guard rail fall in love at first sight.
  5. Thanks heaps to Phil for running the cruise today. Turned out to be a top day, even if DumDum (DBOSS) went home early
  6. Pretty spot on to my thoughts on the GTS, except I quite liked the bigger seats. Something to do with being a bigger fella The GTS is no M3 or RS4, but it is pretty damn close. Over some of the bumpiest roads you wouldn't think you were running on 20" wheels, it goes wherever you point it. Turn the safety feautres off and you have an animal to control, turn on the magnetic ride control and there is no more body roll, throw the car into a corner as hard as you can jump on the throttle and let the rear end hang out. One of the best car's I've ever driven, and I'd buy one tomorrow if it was built in Germany. 80k on road for an Aussie car, no thanks. Ford have a massive way to go if they want to catch up.
  7. If you're doing it just to get more traction, why not just get better tyres?
  8. I have one sitting in my draw, however it needs to be repaired. Guageworks have said they will repair it, I just haven't bothered sending it down to them.
  9. No idea, I live in Sydney. Got mine from Jax/Quick Fit Liverpool.
  10. 1 of those is mine.. Placed the order last week
  11. Well done guys! Now the family is complete
  12. You will not find a better gripping quiter tyre than the Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 for that size. If you want a better tyre you need to upgrade to 18" wheels. They wear about the same as the standard dunlops, only they perform 10x better and are 10x quieter. Cheap too, about $230 a corner.
  13. The size of your brakes will not make any difference in a one stop situation. All the pads need to do is grab the rotor and stop it from spinning, all modern brake systems out there are capable of doing this. The only difference bigger brakes will make is that you'll be able to do it over and over again without fading the brakes. The biggest factor in situations like this are your tyres. I don't care how much sh*t I cop for buying great tyres and keeping small diametre rims (17" 18") so I can afford the great tyres, if they save me and my family from a stupid mistake I made, or allow me to swerve to miss someone elses stupid mistake they have just paid for themselves. Big heavy high power cars like the XR6T need great tyres, not second rate tyres.
  14. Glad to hear everyone is ok Brian, looking forward to hearing more about the new car

The Maxxis's were quite noisy when I rode in a car with them on a hwy trip. Reminded me of my old Pirelli P Zero Nero's.

Just get some better tyres, then you can still have your rotation thing happening. Michelin Pilot Sport 2 for the best possible traction, but very exxy. Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 for a massive upgrade from your current tyres at a decent price.

Quite tyres, now that is Michelin's domain. There is no mainstream manufacturer that makes quieter performance tyres. In that price range, go the Pilot Preceda 2's. Also will perform 10x better than the Falkens and last about the same.

    Not a bridgestone donut

You're an idiot mate. There is no way your Hankooks are anywhere near the performance of the PS2 (Pilot Sport 2). If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, go the Michelin PP2 (Pilot Preceda 2). Almost in super tyre territory there and they don't cost much more as dodgy brands out there (I.e. Hankooks, Kumho's, Nankangs, Federals, etc..) even though they are much better in all conditions.

What a waste... I wonder which 911 it was..
  23. Make me an offer for mine, only been used for 2 hours before I got sick of it... hehe
  24. Follow EvilDaifu's advice, he is spoton. One thing to add though, that CB at JayCar is only a 38 Channel CB. That is because it is missing Channel 21 & 22 which is reserved for data. The majority of UHF CB's are 40 channel units, and the frequency ranges the UHF40 and UHF38 CB's are different for certain channels. You may have problems using this radio on cruises. Ensure you get a 40ch CB.
