Take a ZF fitted BMW for a test drive, and you will see what I mean. Then take a car fitted with a dual clutch gearbox for a test drive (vw, audi, porsche future bmw m3) and even BMW's ZF implementation will feel like it hesitates and is slow.

Aussie Muscle car.. Definitely not a refined luxury performance car. Far from it. Not yet a Fridaynight hoon car, still too expensive for most kids out there (when new anyway). Possibly a tuners wet dream

The manual is definitely the better of the two. It enables you to shift when you want and how you want. The auto does not provide that functionality. The auto is also slow at up/down shifting, seems there is always a bit of a delay/hesitation.

The tyres you're talking about are SemiSlicks right? They're good for drags and track days, but wear out too quickly on the road. Get some Michelin Pilot Sport 2, you won't find a better gripping full road tyre on the market.

That's the problem. I've never met a car salesman that has any idea of the product they sell. Sorry to stereotype, but having purchased around 20 cars over the years, every one had NFI and smoked like chimneys in and around the cars. ← They do exist, not so much in the locally made world, but you'd be almost guaranteed a euro car or a lexus salesman/woman would know everything about their product.

Bankstown is a good suburb to live in, as long as you stick to the Condell Park, Georges Hall side. All these are within 5 minutes of Milperra.

I still watch it cause I find it entertaining...For the first time I find myself backing a driver rather than a manufacturer. I'm going for Courtney this year, I think he's a rising star that will shine and be up there on the podium at the end of the year. Lowndes, Ingall, Whincup and Winterbottom also have my support. Even though I don't support Expensive Daewoo or any of their drivers, I respect their talent. No matter what anyone says, Kelly's, Skaife, Murphy, Tander do know how to drive and good luck to them. Better competition = more entertainment.

Why are you limiting your choice to just those two tyres? Are you getting them heavily discounted or something? Cause there are a lot of better options out there for the same retail price.

Out of the two, Maxis. I've seen so many issues with all the dunlop sport range, splits, cracks, bubbles, blowouts. I don't trust them enough with mine and my family's life. Haven't heard of any issues with Maxis, a mate of mine was quite happy with the Maxxis performance when he had them on his Barina. Did well on a track day too. Nothing compared to his Golf GTI & PS2's though

Neither, I pick the Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 mentioned above. Definitely the second best tyre I've driven on in the XRT. Best being the Pilot Sport 2.

They are an OK tyre, probably the best dunlop road tyre ever made. Reasnable dry and wet grip, but lacking compared to the better options out there. They also come along with the usual dunlop defects, sidewall cracks & bubbles, tread splits, etc...

Over the last 6 months I've had a HP (not the pavilion), have an IBM (T41) and now a Dell (D620)... IBM has a 2Ghz mobile processor with 1.5gb RAM, and a 5400rpm hard drive 14" screen HP had a Dualcore 2Ghz mobile processor with 2gb ram and a 5400rpm hard drive 15" screen the Dell has Core2Duo 2ghz mobile processor with 4gb ram and a 7200rpm hard drive 14" widescreen It also had the best support software, updates, battery indicator, network profile switcher, etc.. The IBM's battery lasted the longest (4 hours), was the lightest (1.9kg) and had the strongest case. new RRP was 4k. I could run up to 1 virtual machine off the local drive (60gb 7200 sata) and 4 virtual machines with this laptop off an external drive. Wife now uses this laptop and struggles to play a lag free game of sims2. sh*t video resolution (only 1024x768). The HP had a pretty strong case, great battery life and awesome performance. The graphics card (128mb) was good enough for watching a couple of movies and playing games. I can run up to 3 virtual machines off the local drive (80gb 7200rpm sata2) with another 5 off an external drive. It had great video resolution and sound. Was a heavy mother though (3.5kg)... The dell case is pathetic, single latch lid, sh*t battery life (1.5 hours, the heavier&bigger extended gets 4 hours though). Performance is amazing though, 5 virtual machines locally (100gb 7200rpm sata2 hard drive) and 8 off an external drive (at the same time) before the system bogs down. The 256mb video card is sensational, awesome resolution. Light enough at 2kg's with standard battery, 2.3 with extended battery. If I could pick a new laptop... It would be the HP, 14" widescreen 256mb graphics card, 2ghzcore2duo mobile processor, 4gb ddr2 ram, 100gb 7200rpm sata2 hard drive (basically my new dell's specs in a HP). The most important thing to consider in a laptop is the hard drive speed. Standard is normally about 4200rpm which is pathetically slow. The processor has to constantly keep waiting for the drive to catch up. Go a 5400rpm as a mininum, and a 7200rpm if you wish to play games or have your OS and apps load up quicker. Keep the processor spec above 1.8ghz in core2duo format, and get at least 2gb of ram for XP or 3gb for vista. Keep in mind though, the more powerful the laptop is, the more battery it chews up. I'd also stay away from Vista for a little while, there isn't much third party application support available as yet. Definitely get a laptop that can support it, so you can upgrade in a couple of months, I just wouldn't put it on right now.
