June 3, 200719 yr #1 My XR6T manual sedan has close on 300rwkw and am using at present cheap nankang 265x30x19 tyre's.It has bad traction problems in 1st and 2nd on most road surface's.That bad that I had got beaten by a stock looking ve ss with a chick driving.Road may have been a bit slippery from rain during the night, this happened about 6am.Even tried to ease into boost and still didn't help enough to kick her but.Embarrassing.More power just couldn't use it.So I am looking at a pair of new tyre's that arn't going to cost me a arm, leg or kidney, but offer better grip than the current nangkang's.These tyre's have only lasted just over 8 000k's with no dropping the clutch or burnouts. The wear will be due to the car breaking traction coming onto boost. It will be good to find something that has better grip and milage.
June 3, 200719 yr #2 Im also curious as to what people will suggest. I just got a set of 19's (still waiting for them to get posted over), but once the used tyres on them become low on tread I'll be in the market for new tyres.
June 3, 200719 yr #3 I will put my CRO hat on and say Michy ps2's. Now it's off, and I think you can get tyres that are almost as good for alot less money.I have Hankook K107's on my car, 275/30/19 and am constantly amazed with their sticking power. They are also less than half the price of Cros's prefferred brand. Edited June 3, 200719 yr by ENVY-T

Almost in super tyre territory there and they don't cost much more as dodgy brands out there (I.e. Hankooks, Kumho's, Nankangs, Federals, etc..) even though they are much better in all conditions.
June 4, 200719 yr #5 lol its on again...oh and cro, when your babys old enough to get on a tyre swing hanging from your back tree..... whats gunna hang from the rope?? Edited June 4, 200719 yr by Trough Lolly
June 4, 200719 yr #7 Well I have to say that on the weekend I got my new wheels. As I have nearly always had BF Goodrich or Michy's I found it a little unnerving when I put Falken 452s on this time. However I have found them to have reasonably good grip so far although I havent really pushed to hard with them yet. They are 275/30r19's.

June 5, 200719 yr #9 I have Toyo Proxes T1-R's in 275/35-20 on mine. Fantastic tyre, very, very predictable. Given what they have to cope with, they are doing a great job. I will be very hesitant to replace them with anything else actually - which won't be long............ Damn power.

I will be very hesitant to replace them with anything else actually - which won't be long............ Damn power.Iv'e run Nitto 555r's (Toyo) on the back of mine, lunched 2 cv's but they gripped extremly well. I'm also told that the 555's which are more of a road race tire is a great tire.I'm told that the Yokohama v103's are supposed to be an awsome tire, a couple of guys who run in the dutton reccomend them. If you don't do to much driving or don't like the wet to much the Ao48's would have more grip, these are an R compound.
